Absolutely awful experience shopping at Burberry San Diego with Sabrina. Buyer beware! If you buy anything at this store - you can only return for an exchange within a 14 day window. After that you cannot return an item at all. So in my case I bought a gift for Christmas and the recipient did not like it. After Christmas we came back to return the item only to find out we were stuck with making a major purchase. We were a long time customer but will no longer be doing business with Burberry. Thanks Burberry for your friendly service. I called before coming to the store to ask if they had men's wallets -- obviously they did, but I wanted a certain style. The male I spoke to was so nice and friendly, unfortunately they don't carry the style I was looking for. The associate mentioned they got new wallets in different shapes and sizes LOL so I decided to come thru to check them out. As I arrived, I was greeted by all their associates - kidding just one. They directed me to the wallets. I was assisted by Edward? Maybe Edgar? I think its David? Idk... Darn I wish I knew his name cz he was so nice. He was by far the best sales associate I have met at a high end store. I've purchased at LV, Tiffany and Gucci and the associates can be very stuck up. Anyway this guy was so nice, funny and honest. My first sales agent, Yay (I think that's how it's spelled) still remembers me by name every time I walk in and she bends over backwards to help me. The only downside is that, because it's a smaller boutique, they sometimes don't have a lot of stock. But, they are always happy to order for you and give you an opportunity to try. Spring sale currently going on now! This Burberry store is located in the Fashion Valley Mall, towards Bloomingdales (specifically right next to Gucci). What brought me in this recent afternoon was their spring sale. Although I browsed their sale online, there really is nothing better than actually looking at the actual products in person and trying them on to see how they would fit and look on me. When I first walked in the store, I was immediately greeted by Maria. I told her I was interested in the spring sale and she walked me throughout the entire store and showed me all of the items that were part of the sale. She explained some of the reasons why these items were on sale (some lines/ designs are being discontinued) and also described the items to me. Then she left me to be on my own to browse. Later on she found me by the hand bags and asked me if there was a particular style that I was looking for. She also showed me this one particular bag and how it can be used. She also answered my questions about how to clean these bags and the differences between material and leather these bags were made of. Maria was so incredible helpful and very friendly. She was understanding and quite professional. I had just walked out of the Gucci store next door where I experienced a lack of service. But at Burberry, Maria gave me the opposite and provided me with nothing but attentive service. She also did not pressure me into buying any of the items and thanked me as I left empty handed on this visit. Because of her impeccable, personal service, I would come back to this location again. I am African-American female and my husband is Brazilian. We were followed around the whole entire store after telling the sales woman (white lady with short bob) we were just browsing and that we didn't need assistance, she continued to follow us around literally 2 feet away from me the whole entire time, I could not even enjoy shopping without her breathing down my back. I went here to exchange my coat for a larger size. I was greeted right away by Rochelle, who helped me select the right jacket, took my old one, gave it back, and said I just needed to buy a new one. When I told her I didn't want to charge my card in full, her entire demeanor changed. She instantly lost her charming façade and became dismissive and disrespectful, seeing as though I was no longer a valuable customer who would earn her commission on a sale. She ushered some customers over to the couch I was sitting on and asked me to move so they could sit down. I was shocked; I should have returned my coat and walked out immediately. My business is not appreciated; she acts entitled and treats me with such disdain. I felt she was judging me and since I didn't make a huge purchase I wasn't a valuable customer. I came in looking for gifts for my husband. I had placed an order for cufflinks to wear for our wedding day and the cufflinks were delayed, so I went to the store to purchase cufflinks at the store. When I first walked in, I asked the sales associate for cufflinks. The associate indicated that the cufflinks were only an online item and referred me to either Bloomingdales or Nordstrom and walked off. I began looking around and decided to purchase a belt. Another sales associate came up and began assisting me. The sizes of men's belts run small, so as a rule, you go up 2 sizes. The belt I purchased was way too large so we went back to exchange it. They didn't carry the size, so they ordered the belt online for me. The same associate helped me a second time and he was super friendly and made my visit more enjoyable. They have in-store pick up for items or you can have the items delivered to your house, but with signature upon delivery. Strict policy on who picks up your items. I'm not a big label person, in fact, anything I own that is brand name was a gift. I can never seem to pull myself to buy anything name brand for myself. However, for my loved ones, once you're in my heart, you can get whatever you want. My husband for example, is one of those people. So for Christmas, it was only normal for me to go looking for brand name stuff for him. The staff here is so nice. I wish I could remember the sales associate name... I believe it was Amber. She helped me pick out my husband b-day gift. She had everything all planned out my wallet needs to be special ordered and it may and may not arrive the next day which it is the birthday day!!! The girl had it all planned out for me with all back up plans. She is so awesome! Anyways my wallet did come the next day and I pick it right after 2pm when I received the notification. Tips: ordering in store is no extra fee and it will come in next day if you place your order before 11am. I'm in love. I usually am not too much of a label whore(well maybe a little), but i'm definately not a purse collector or one to buy purses as a status symbol. I don't like Burberry's check pattern either. Recently i put all of my beliefs aside. I was shopping with a friend in Las Vegas during the end of summer. She had a return to make at the Burberry store there. That is when i saw the new fall/winter runway collection. The Knight Bag, with pyramid spikes all over it, was on a table of its own. A light shined from heaven onto this bag. I didn't make the purchase then,but I could not stop thinking or talking about it. One day I decided to make a shopping trip at Fashion Valley. It was all over. I just went into the store to look at it. The employees were super helpful. Everyone was friendly..I was not even dressed well that day(t-shirt and jeans). By the time I had left the store that day, I had puchased the Knight Bag and a pair of sunglasses to go with it. I get compliments for both purchases everyday I wear them. He basically knew how to please a customer and I really loved how he knew every single perfume and colognes. I was just at Sephora looking for a cologne for Christmas and Michael was wearing a cologne that smelled wonderful. He was nice enough to describe and show me some of the products. Like LV, this isn't a review on the Burberry prodcut, but on the store and staff itself. While the store is nice and has a lot of selection, the staff here is beyond awful. Beyond is actually not descriptive enough. If on a score of 1 to 10 where 10 is really bad, and beyond was like a 20, I would put 100. It's so bad here that once I found out Nordstroms sells Burberry I went their to buy the purse I was looking for... Let us recap. I was buying a purse as a gift, and was told Burberry was what she wanted. Went to the Burberry store. The store was pretty empty, and their were two sales people just standing around. The first lady just stared at me and then looked away. I walked around a bit and the other sales person walked out and didn't even pay me any attention. I walked up to the first sales person after I found the purse I was looking for and asked if she could help me. She looked like she was offended that I was wasting her time. When she brought it down I asked how much and then she kind of rolled her eyes at me as if to say, "Why are you wasting my time..." Seriously, never ever again. I'm not a fan of uber expensive purses (ok, to me anything LV/Gucci/Burberry is uber expensive), but if you are seriously going to sell something so freaking expensive at least treat your clients well. I was told by my friends that if you don't dress well they won't help you. Well I walked into Nordstroms after my experience at Burberry and within a few minutes was helped. I'm giving them an average rating for a few reasons. I went in yesterday to get a new shirt. I've been to a few Burberry stores before and I find that this location is rather limited in variety. Regarding this particular experience I didn't find the employees very helpful. I mean... I'm spending $100 on a shirt... Maybe you could check on me. When I checked out the guy had to run and get printer paper. He was gone for what seemed like forever. I just thought it would Have been appropriate for him to stay with me and send someone else. We went in on monday to get my daughter her first burberry purse! We came to mall for a few other errands so we were dressed casually. We came into the store and none of the sales people wanted to help us. I heard the asian sales lady "whisper" to another employee "you can take them" . It was like that scene in pretty woman where she comes in with money but the sales ladys are so superficial they dont help her and it becomes their big mistake when she goes on that shopping rampage skipping them out of it. My mom and I were ready for a full day of shopping, so we were dressed extremely casual and comfortable. We walked into burberry eager to see new styles; my mom had just gotten back from her trip to Italy, where she bought a burberry bag. With that being said, we were also looking for a real leather bag that wasn't made in China. Please note that many of the burberry bags sold here in the US are made in China. We were NOT greeted, and there were two visible salesladies. One was helping one customer, and the other was meandering around 'fixing' the bags on display. She did check up on us once, but I feel like there was a quick judgement on the way we were dressed, coach bag in tote and rainbow flip flops on my feet, and did not seem willing to give us any of her time. With that, we walked back right out the store and next door to Louis Vuitton, where my mom bought a $2,500 bag. Hopefully my experience will be better next time. This experience happened at the older location next to LV, and I've passed the new location a couple times. read more

If you go to this Burberry look for Fernando Edwan! He was probably the most helpful and pays a lot of attention to detail. He is friendly and doesn't push you to buy anything. He shows you different options even if you don't have any intention to buy anything. I bought a burberry men's watch from him. He made the shopping experience really easy and comfortable. Makes you think that all high end stores should have this type of customer service. He did not judge the way we looked or what we were wearing. He greeted us right away and let us walk around and came to us right away when we had a question. Fernando made the shopping experience very pleasant. He even told us we can check out bloomingdales, nordstrom and other stores for watches. He was never pushy for us to buy anything. He explained very clearly all items he showed us and the warrantee that burberry has. Made the shopping experience awesome. What awesome customer service! I came in here to see if one of my gloves could be fixed (the little gold stamp had come off and took a stitch with it). They replaced the gloves right there on the spot! Wow! I also came in here looking for a jacket that I saw in a magazine, and they didn't have it. The sales person was very knowledgeable, and showed me something very similar. Despite not having the jacket I was looking for, this store has a wide variety of items; more than other Burberry shops I have been too. Also, the customer service was exceptional. Now she's my go to SA who's Russian accent puts a smile on my face as she describes new pieces, and has great gift ideas when I'm impulse shopping. All of the staff are professional, friendly and courteous, but today it was Dave M. who addressed my fashion concerns. Great experience, from start to finish. I can't say enough about how positive my experience was today while concluding my visit with Michelle (Asst Manager). Your sales team is awesome! Update.. Of all the boutiques in Fashion Valley, Burberry's floor plan/selection has you feeling like you discovered something new with each section that you enter. I'm a huge fan of their tailored trenchcoats. In my collection, my current favorite is the London Kensington (Leather Trim) Double Breasted Trench Coat, in Navy. I'm not the type that drools over a specific designer and have a "WANT for it" (vs NEED) to make my day. More than often, it's no big deal. If I like it, I may commit. But on a super rare day, I could come across a piece that will shotgun blast your wallet upwards $2K (for a raincoat) and STILL having you leave with a smile on your face. I generally love Burberry stores and adore the bags and scarves, but I had the worst experience at this location today. The store wasn't all that clean which is a turnoff in the first place, but the customer service was horrid. I walked in with a friend to browse and see if they had a lot of their fall collection in yet to see if I could find a scarf to match a great coat I had just picked up, and the two employees didn't greet us and just continued their personal conversation in the middle of the sales floor. We just turned around and walked out. I've been to other locations with friendly employees and a good atmosphere, but this store and the girls that were working there were seriously sub-par.
