First time coming to this store. It's a nice and spacious restaurant. We came just off the lunch time so it was a great time enjoying lunch there! We had pad thai, banmi and bao bun? In vegetarian style. They were all flavorful and tasty! Good experience. :)

Cute, simple and clean restaurant. Went early during the week for dinner and it wasn't busy. Ordered fried egg rolls, pho, pork belly bao bus and a beef sandwich. All were good, but the pork belly was the best! Service was kind, but very slow. It appears our server was the only one there multitasking. Needless to say, it took awhile to get water refills and our food. Overall, expect a wait and delicious pork belly.

I got the chicken pho and it was so good! The broth was rich and savory and I appreciate the amount of extra toppings that were given. The server was also very nice and the place was clean. Do be mindful of their hours, since they close for a bit during the day.

This place is very cute on the inside. Although we sat at an awkward table next to the back hallway, we still had a great time. Everyone we interacted with was nice. The rose lemonade was very refreshing and not overbearingly sweet. Would love to try their Thai Tea next time. The shaken beef and turmeric fish dishes took a while to come out, but they felt like a home cooked meal. We left very satisfied, check this place out!

Visited with my family in Austin, and we managed to try an assortment of different items. Our order was the shrimp pho, Shaken Beef, Crispy Pork Belly, and beef pho (unpictured). The food took a while to be made and served, but the staff was very kind and accommodating. The Shrimp Pho had a tasty aromatic broth and was not oily. The noodle was soft and chewy, and came with a platter of vegetables, jalapeños, and limes. The shrimps were also very fresh, which my sister appreciated. However, the Shaken beef was too salty. Everything from the rice and even the salad was overly salted, and was a little unbearable to eat. Maybe a little sweetness to the sauce could've added more complexity to the beef, and the dish's flavor overall. This wasn't the case for the Crispy Pork Belly: it was well-balanced in flavor and the meat was not too fat or too lean. The pork skin was crispy, and even came with vermicelli and a nice side of vegetables. I personally liked wrapping the pork with the greens, before dipping it in the fish sauce and eating. One of the better items on the menu. Last but not least, I enjoyed the beef pho. Everything from noodle texture to portion size was just right, but the broth was just too oily for me to finish -- which is a pity, as pho broth usually takes hours to prepare and make. This would have been my favorite item otherwise, because the flavor was really good. All this is to say: Bun Belly is a very solid pick for people who want pho, but there is definitely room for improvement on many fronts. But despite everything, it was still a great experience overall. :-)

This was my first time going back to Bun Belly since they moved to this new location on Airport and oh jeez -- parking is a doozy! This strip center always has parking challenges, especially if it's a weekend. If you are doing a to-go order (like I was), you may want to consider two people driving there so one person can easily hop out. Otherwise, if you're by yourself, you can expect to park very, VERY far away. I wish they had a reserved spot out front for to-go cars only, like how other places do. As for the food, it was basically how I remembered it, except my cucumbers and some of the leafy greens were wilted and soggy/mushy, which wasn't great. The portions were okay. At $22 for one order, I would have expected a little more. I only had 6 pieces of tofu.

The absolute worst! Not worth the price paid. The owner does not care about making things right. The poor server on the phone even acknowledged this fact. I placed an order for take away. When I picked up the order, it was 10 minutes late. Then, they said they could not fulfill part of the order while I was there to pick it up. They offered a cash refund. Then, after getting home, I discovered another part of the order was missing. When I called, the owner left the phone on the counter and walked away for 10 minutes and refused to make it right. I had to call back to speak to another person. I paid for a meal and didn't receive the meal I paid for: pork vermicelli with an egg roll and beef pho with meatballs. No egg roll, no meat balls. Barely warm food and zero customer service. Pho noodles sticking together with barely any protein. They don't care about customer service. They don't care about fulfilling the orders customers pay for. The wait staff has more empathy than the owners. I'll never come back. They ruined a meal that was meant to be a celebration. The absolute worst customer service.

I was very happy to hear that all of their Vegetarian items are actually Vegan! So there were tons of great options. I really like their pad thai. Good portion, friendly service. The interior is nicer than most in the area although it was super quiet.

This is my second time doing pickup from here and both times were a good experience! Their Belly Bao is truly incredible so definitely a must get if you eat meat. Their vegetarian items are also vegan so great options for lots of people. I will say I see that they now charge $1 for to go containers which seems slightly unreasonable. The inside was really nicely decorated and clean, and I look forward to eating in one day.

$64 seems a bit pricey for the food we got, still felt hungry after sharing with husband and kids.. use Yelp for free bao

Food was good but was a little sad to see that my garnishes for my bowl of pho were missing (even after saying to put onions on side & extra bean sprouts :( with the lady taking my order) I let her know my daughter won't put onions in her soup but I put them in mine... I won't discredit the flavors of their food though, everything was quite tasty and my husband said he would order more baos for next time we order here! Room for improvement? Check your orders before leaving to make sure you have everything.... & The chicken in my pho smelled and tasted like rotisserie chicken straight from Costco :/ texture, smell, taste!! After waiting about 25 minutes they brought the bag out to me by the door, I should've checked it because I had a long drive home, but also wish they double checked it to make sure all was in there... Tip for anyone: Use Yelp check in for free bao-

The food is good but it didn't blow me away. The chicken 2-way rice is amazing though The service is quite slow. It took them a while to bring out the food and to took the payment.

I can't believe it's my first time trying this place since I've passed it so many times before. I got the Vietnamese Crepe with my choice of protein, pork. It comes with lots of greens including mint leaves, lettuce, and cilantro. I love the coconut flavoring and the choy sum(?) inside the crepe. The fish oil sauce is great. I just wish the crepe itself was less salty. Compared to other restaurants in the plaza, the wait time is not too long and the table arrangement is nice.

Bun belly is my bf and my go to for when we can't decide what we want to eat. He always wants soup or pho 90% of the time and I usually want something more substantial. He always gets the pho. I always get the pork buns for us to share and the pad Thai. I recently got jealous of the pho bc it's very tasty but I wanted something else with it and the Banh Mi is the perfect in between bc it's like a soup and salad deal from a deli. Service here is always great and they ALWAYS refill your water timely which is a big pet peeve of mine when I don't have water bc I'm a thirsty gal. Bun belly and Long Play after, we do this routine at least twice a month. Love u bun belly !!

The space mixes art deco with a little bit of Spanish flair, tucked beside/adjacent to Mama Betty's. It's big, but arranged in a way that still feels cozy and social. The crowd? Late 20s to early 40s. Grown and attractive. Lively but not chaotic. Vibrant without being loud. Perfect for dressing up a little, socializing and lingering a little. We Ubered there, so I didn't get a full picture of the parking, but it seems like there may be a little parking garage or validated parking area? Maybe a pay for parking? I would read other reviews. Most of the staff? Fantastic. Professional, warm, funny. Our assigned waitress, however, gave off overwhelmed and low-energy. She was short with communication and it sort of dulled our sparkle for a moment, but the drinks and vibes quickly brought it back. Had we had another waitress, this place would have been a 10 out of 10. On to the drinks: Round one: espresso martinis (made with Tito's). Slightly sweet, bold, smooth, and very sippable. No coffee bean decorations on top, but full of flavor. No cream inside...sort of reminding you of a Black Russian. Served in a ribbed coupe glass. Round two: French 75s with Hendrick's. Punchy lemon flavor, a tad sweet, lower champagne notes but still giving French 75. Garnished with a dried lime slice instead of a lemon. Served elegant in those ribbed coupe glasses (which fit the aesthetic perfectly). The cocktails are well-crafted and intentional. They aren't overly boozy, but they are balanced, smooth and polished. Bathrooms? Immaculate. Unisex. Private stall rooms with their own individual doors. Efficient and modern. No long lines. Opportunity to mingle with the opposite sex in the bathroom if that suits your fancy. Foxtail feels like a good place to start a new chapter. We had good conversations and we enjoyed staying out just a little longer than we planned. Their Happy Hour (4:30-6pm weekdays) is officially on my radar for the future. I'll be back. Drinks are expensive and served in what feels like miniature target brand, low-quality glasses, which makes the value proposition hard to justify the steep $14 price. The atmosphere is where it really falls apart. The space is set up like a bright, casual brunch hall rather than a cocktail bar--harsh, bright lighting, uncomfortable wooden chairs, and basic wooden square tables that don't align with the concept AT ALL. There's no food offering, yet the environment feels designed for daytime dining rather than an evening bar experience. From a design and hospitality standpoint, it's difficult to understand how this made it to opening in its current state. Even a VERY basic understanding of lighting and ambiance would suggest this setup is fundamentally mismatched--ESPECIALLY for something like a date night. The artwork is ever-changing (every couple of months or so) and the cocktail menu changes right long with it. Note: artwork is available for purchase. An hour ago it wasn't raining, but now it's pouring. A few months ago, I heard of a newer bar and experience called Equipment Room just right off of South Congress. Music means everything to me. Nothing can express emotions and instill a feeling in 3 minutes like a song can. I live for that. Equipment Room is inherently Japanese in concept. Existing in Japan for over 50 years, listening bars combine high fidelity audio equipment with impressively crafted cocktails and alcohol combining the passion of music in a space to gather with comfortable chairs and a beautiful atmosphere. The concept has expanded westward as all cool things inevitably do, but I would never think a spot would be successful in Austin like it would be in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and so on. As I back my car into a parking spot on South Congress, I grab the umbrella out of my trunk and walk my girlfriend and me to the entrance trying to not get ourselves soaked in the process. This is not the first time we have tried to go to Equipment Room. We tried to get a walk-in table just to see out of morbid curiosity and that was a failure. I booked her and me a table for this night and I was madly looking forward to it. As we got to the small entrance, we were introduced to the hostess who brought us from the stairs into the main underground space and to our seats on the couch in a large wraparound sofa with other parties sitting near us. The music is faint from the entrance, but once you walk through the main walkway, a wave of sound hits your eardrums. You're immediately engrossed into the music like walking into a concert hall or putting a fresh pair of headphones on for the first time. As we sat down, selections from Outkast's Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik were playing through the speakers. Our hostess introduced us to their "User Manual" (their menu) where it contained all the snacks and drinks you could get your grubby hands on. There's more than just drinks and food on the menu. The first page introduces the concept and gives a few house rules. The second page shows all the equipment this so-called room has, from the premium Klipsch speakers, their preamps and amplifiers as well as their turntables and mixers. It's a dream page for music nerds. I want a $15k speaker in my apartment, but those noise complaints would never end. Our waitress came by shortly to give us water and take our order. Their menu is quite expansive, but the main pages we were told to check out were their A-side drinks or the classics and their B-side drinks, which are more experimental. We had to go with experimental for starters because who knows when you'll get to try something similar again. I started with a Goca Dünya while my girlfriend ordered a Deceptacon. The Goca Dünya was a vodka based floral drink with pistachio foam and Amaro Nonino, an Italian herbal liqueur. The Deceptacon was a rum-based cacao drink with a touch of lime and mint. It took a little time for our drinks to come out, clearly, as they are quite intricate. I loved my drink, bluntly. The pistachio foam was a great balance to the herbal flavors at the bottom. My girlfriend and I continued to enjoy each other's company as the music continued. The space we were in was decorated with posters and memorabilia from legendary artists coming through Austin and some general music decor like that purple album from that Prince guy. The DJ-curator that night was on a tear playing incredible soul music holding the bar hostage with a taste of funk. Jimmy Smith came next before transitioning to a few tracks from Bobbie Gentry. The last albums he pulled out were Steely Dan's Aja (a stone cold classic) and Stevie Wonder's Songs in the Key of Life (a top 10 album of all time). Not only was he playing classics like Isn't She Lovely, but he threw down some deeper cuts like Black Man and Contusion. Incredible. We both got another drink with my girlfriend getting their A-Side Espresso Martini while I got the Brown Sugar from their B-Sides. It was a seaweed and mushroom infused whiskey with a few more bells and whistles and it was super unique. Quite a bit of their menu is Japanese-inspired in homage to the originators of listening bars. This includes Japanese beer, sake, and Japanese-inspired food and beverages on their menu. Very cool. The worst part of the night came when our hour and 45 minute reservation came to a close. I could've stayed there for another 3 hours and never grown tired, but with how popular this space has become, they gotta kick you out at some point. This is an experience you have to have. It's worth it. I'll be strolling back in soon enough because there is nothing like this in Austin and it's truly a special space. RIYL: Actively listening to music.

My husband had the Dusty Trail (strong and perfect for bourbon lovers) and a Coquito that was creamy and smooth with a hint of cinnamon. Parking is limited, but we found street parking nearby. Overall, great drinks, great music, and a spot I'll definitely keep coming back to.

Marlow's has a very Austin vibe. I grew up in Austin and just moved back. Austin has changed a lot…read moreso I was happy to visit a place like Marlow that's dedicated to keeping the Austin vibe alive. The owner is also an Austinite! Marlow's has a really in interesting and delicious drink menu. I tried both mocktails (option to add THC) and really enjoyed them both. Most mocktails with NA liquor have honestly tasted a bit weird and a bit off. I usually have one and call it a day. However, I really enjoyed the first one that I tried the second one, which I also liked. The bartenders work amazingly fast and take multiple drink orders at a time and don't miss a beat! There's street parking and during weekdays, it's free to park after a certain hour.
