We have used Bulwark Exterminating since moving to Arizona in late 2017. During that time there have been number of Bulwark technicians that we have used. Some have been very good and others just good. But I would have to say that our current Technician, Tyler J., is the best. Although we have only had the pleasure of Tyler being our technician for the last 3-4 services, we have been impressed. He is extremely professional, interested in understanding your issues and trying to address them to the best of his ability. Although he started when the weather was cooling, we have seen practically no earwigs/spiders inside our house and we always have a few. Also, we have noticed a reduction of the scorpion population outside of the house. When we moved in in 2017, we had a big scorpion issue outside. Overtime Bulwark Exterminating has gotten that under control. We still see scorpions, especially during the warmer weather but nowhere near the numbers as in the past. Tyler has continued that trend by paying extra special attention to using a stronger mixture and spraying in all areas to make sure any scorpion is dealt with appropriately. I am pleased to say that no one in the family has had a scorpion sting since we moved to Arizona even though we have done a great amount of yard related work over the years. We hope to keep that record going and believe that Bulwark can help us with that. We are expecting that both Tyler and Bulwark keep us bug and scorpion free while we live in Arizona. UPDATE 1/29/14: Within a week of posting on here i got a call from a branch manager (Jeff) who apologized for my experience and cancelled my account and removed the charge. And on top of it they are coming out to spray again for free. I'm overly impressed that they saw my post and promptly tried to make it right. They actually care about customer service. I would definitely recommend them. The only reason I didn't continue with the weed service after speaking with Jeff is because I'm moving. If I need that service at the next place I will definitely call them. ORIGINAL POST: The Exterminating side is pretty good and has their act together. However...DO NOT let them talk you into their Weed Control service. It's new to them and they are not organized and don't give you proper notices. They gave us a years worth of service for half the price but at 6 mos they showed up WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE that this service was up for renewal and there would be charges and sprayed for weeds and charged me $150. When I called them I spoke with a very unfriendly supervisor named Brandon and he treated me so disrespectfully and blamed me for the situation. It ended with him saying it would be cancelled and the charge removed. And of course that didn't happen and I got the "friendly reminder" letter. Mind you they required no written/signed contract for this service and nothing in writing stating the parameters of the service and charges. Their weed control is pretty much a scam and I would beware. read more

Several years ago we were customers of Bulwark. Since it seemed we were no longer having scorpion issues and it just wasn't convenient to have the technician come on Saturday I cancelled their services. A couple years later the scorpions were returning but I decided to try another service. The first service company didn't seem to be killing anything. I had them come twice but cancelled their services after the second application. I happened to be home the day after treatment and I have never seen so much bug activity in the back yard after treatment. We just couldn't pay for a service that wasn't working for us. The second company wasn't much better. When I told them we had an ant problem I was told that was extra to treat. Seriously? I finally just paid the contract off just to get out of it, and move on with a company who had already proven themselves. I immediately contacted Bulwark. They eliminated the ant problem without additional cost and we are in the process of getting the scorpion problem under control. John, proved to be a very qualified service tech when he came out on Saturday. He provided exceptional service inside and out. Because Bulwark had already proven they do eliminate scorpion problems we are confident it won't be long before scorps aren't a problem anymore. I can't explain why I didn't call Bulwark immediately rather than shopping around. Fact is, I learned they truly do offer the best service for the money. read more

I had my first service appointment with Bulwark yesterday (John was the representative). After coming from an exterminator service that wrapped me into a contract and then seemed to dilute their chemicals to the point of being useless, I was a bit apprehensive about trusting another provider but I was more sick of spraying my yard myself. Bulwark to the rescue! I spoke at length with them before making an appointment. Bulwark does not do contracts (more vested interest in always doing a great job!), has very comparable plans, their treatments are pet safe, and they are thorough. They also emphasize taking care of their employees so that their employees are more empowered to take better care of the customers. Having met John, I have to say that this is the case. John was absolutely fantastic. He thoroughly explained what steps he was taking today, what to anticipate every other month on the return visits, what to do if any insect activity is seen between visits, and even treated inside of some baseboard outlets to dissuade any infestations that may move into the walls. John was pleasant, intelligent, and seemed to genuinely care about delivering a good experience. Two thumbs up all around! I anticipate a long relationship with Bulwark - if you are in the market, this is one company that is absolutely worthy of your business. read more

Well things have changed at Bulwark. They seem to have trouble hanging on to good techs. Seth was awesome, BAM hes gone. Nick was beyond awesome, BAM hes gone. Now I have some guy who looks like an ex drug user (and told me so while on my property) servicing my property. Used to be, Nick had a key to my gate, house, and his own alarm code. I would trust him to service my house when I wasn't home and trust that the job was getting done. Shortly after Nick's departure from Bulwark, I was assigned Quincy. Mind you I have 24 hour 1080p video surveillance on my entire house. On his first appointment, the d-bag didn't even treat my property, just sat in his truck and after about 15 minutes he pinned a bill to my door. Did he not see that the property has video surveillance? Anyways, I checked the cameras when I got home and low and behold there was no service done. I called and talked to a supervisor who said and i quote "Yeah he probably didn't do it because he couldn't get in your backyard" and offered to come out himself and treat the property which he did. The simple fact that I caught him on camera not treating my property and still charging me put this companies integrity in jeopardy. I am now seeing scorpions, earwigs, spiders, roaches all the time, and I feel as though Bulwark is ripping me off. read more

Cory A. has done a fine job handling our home for pests. We live near the desert preserve and as you might imagine there are a fair number of critters that could make their way into our yard. There are particularly tons of crickets and the spiders quickly follow, as well as scorpions and other insects. We've rarely had anything come into the house and Cory always comes out quickly to resolve on the rare occasion something has. Recently saw a lone couple strings of web in the house and a cricket, Cory came out to retreat and the next day the culprits were sprawled out, there's a lot of comfort in seeing that kind of quick resolution. This summer has been particularly challenging with the rain storms, but Cory has never been anything but pleasant and urges us to call if we see anything so he can retreat (and never treats us as if we are crazy for expecting a bug free environment while living so close to the desert). The backyard remains largely silent at night while the neighbors sounds like a chirp fest, we haven't seen a scorpion in about 8 months, and the inside remains pest free. It is a battle though and we understand that, but more importantly Cory understands it and we appreciate the good work he's done. read more

I called because we have construction next door & now ants are in our home. I was hesitant to call a pest control company because I have cats & I have asthma. I am not comfortable with spraying deadly chemicals in my home. Carl texted me when he was a half hour away which I appreciated. He arrived within the window of time they had given me. He explained my choices & that they have a pet safe spray, but I just did not want to take a chance. He set bait under furniture where the cats cannot get. He also put sticky traps there as well. The tech in the office told me he would spray around the base of the building, but I learned that our HOA had just done that. Carl said a mixture of chemicals would not be a good idea, so he did not do that. I had been spraying vinegar at the thresholds & where I saw the ants. He said that was a good idea & to continue. He was honest that this was not going to instantly make the ants disappear but that I should see fewer. He also said he was happy to come back in a week & check the traps. Winston helped set me up with the initial treatment appointment and told me what I could expect. He was extremely thorough and answered all my questions- I could tell he was very well educated in pest control and really cared about helping solve the problems I was having. They were able to fit me in that week and said Attila would be my tech. Attila showed up right on time and explained everything he was going to do. He was so kind and very patient while I asked (more) questions and babbled on about all the scorpions that had suddenly been showing up in my house. He walked me through every step of the treatment and gave me interesting facts about the different bugs I'd been seeing. Attila told me what to expect after the first and subsequent treatments, as well as the warranty to re-service my home if I saw any pests inside between appointments. I saw Bulwark was offering a special on Deal Chicken a day after we had seen a roach and some bugs in the house. Before buying the deal, I gave them a call to hear them explain their services. I liked what I heard. They request an annual service agreement, but they have a money-back-guarantee and cancel any-time policy, so even though you are committed, you're not really if you don't like the service. When I called them, they matched the deal chicken price (for good reason) and then offered to send someone out the very next day. The quoted me a time between 8-10am and Michael showed up at 8:15am. He put on some booties and went about treating the entry areas, windows and under the sinks. Then he went on to treat the outside of the house. The entire visit took about 40 minutes. Michael was nice, courteous and professional. They have an unlimited call-back guarantee, so in case I do see any more bugs inside, they will come back out at no charge. So far, I'm happy with the service. The results remain to be seen, but I have high hopes. read more

Starting with the call, Brendan was great. He explained everything to me clearly and professionaly. My questions were answered. The rate is totally competitive and worth it! He told me JoseV was going to call when it was time. JoseV called and was even early which is very appreciated. Then Jose showed up and took care of business. My dog even liked him. My dog doesn't like anyone. Not only did JoseV answer my bug questions, he laughed at my jokes, and provided expert advice on bugs of many types. And best of all, Jose battled a scorpion the size of small dog while in the confines of the garage with the truck practically parked on top of him. The deadly insect was trying to stab him with it's stinger, but Jose was too fast and cunning for the beast. The scorpion finally succumb to Jose's deadly melee. After butchering the insect and cleaning up the battlefield, Jose was able to finish the rest of the place. Once his obligations were complete, he thanked me and bid me farewell. Our first tech was really good and was here for about a year - loved him and the service...then we had a couple of "service challenged" tech's. I called in to the District Manager and told of our dissatisfaction and they responded with the most amazing tech we could have hoped for. His name is John Crawford and he is kind, through, respectful and has solved every problem we had, could have and those we have not thought of. We have been so pleased with their replacement, we have bragged about him to all the neighbors and to friends, some of whom have contracted with them as a result. You cannot go wrong with a company who truly takes a complaint and quickly responds in such a positive way. As we all know, you can't always make everyone happy but the way you handle a problem is the true mark of a good company. We have been using Bulwark for quite some time now. In the beginning, we always had the same technician, Corey, and we absolutely loved him. Corey did excellent work, always took the time to answer questions, and was extremely professional. When he was moved from the Silverleaf area to Fountain Hills, I was a bit concerned--but every technician we've had since then has been fantastic. Our most recent visit was with Brendan, and he was wonderful. He rang the doorbell to let me know he had arrived, patiently answered all of my questions, and then rang the doorbell again before leaving to give me a full recap. That level of communication and customer service is truly appreciated. One thing I really value about this company is that the technicians genuinely seem happy to work for Bulwark. As a new homeowner I didnt realize how helpful a pest control company could be. When my neighbors rat hole of a home was abandoned all of their bugs came to my home to stake a claim. After being referred to Bulwark by another neighbor, I called them and have been impressed ever since. These guys do not try to upsell you on anything that you dont want. They explain what they are doing and why. They ask questions instead of assuming (huge positive). They are quick, through, and on time. I have had many different techs at the house and each one was great. Micheal W. was my tech today and did a great job as always. My only complaint is I wish I would have the same tech each time as I would feel more comfortable. I have specific needs due to my fish tanks in the back yard which I wish I didnt have to explain every time. We live in an older area with lots of huge trees and noticed rats scampering across the wires behind our house. One day I let the dog out into the backyard and she went crazy around one of the olive trees, digging and barking. I turned the hose on the tree and out of one of the holes came a big rat! I immediately called Bulwark and Luis Soto came out the next day. He walked all around the property, put bait houses in the problem areas and bait in several other areas. He explained the whole process to me, calmed my fears, checked the inside of the house and was very nice. He returned one week later to check all of the bait, noticed quite a bit had been taken, replaced what was missing, and offered to come again two weeks later. I did find a dead rat in the backyard and figure the bait is working. I was very happy with Luis and Bulwark, and I will definitely call them again for any other problems. They are the ones who come out here with a pleasant professional attitude and thoroughly take care of our pest issues. Justin Zambrano is one of these irreplaceable assets. I recently left a positive review about him being readily available when I needed a quick service before my wife's surgery. He was here in a flash. Well earwig season usually requires a second call back they are tenacious. My wife who is recovering at home from a major surgery has been freaked out because they have been everywhere.
