Came into Bullet with extreme emergency. My classic muscle car I drove down from Nor/Cal for car show at fairgrounds. I had ruptured a power steering hose (custom built part, of course) and it was after hours. The guys at Bullet told me and my wife " we like muscle cars, and we will get you back on the road". They worked for over an hour, even robbing parts from one of their racecars to get me going. After completion they told me " No Charge". We have been stranded before and know how it feels. I recently acquired a 1992 735IL and was referred to bullet performance by a friends father who also own a BMW and had nothing but good things to say about the Staff and their shop. Sure enough a month later the smell of gas in and out side my car alerted me that something was wrong. 2 hours after dropping my car off at bullet performance , Mickey and his team had replaced my fuel line ,back right brake light and wind shield wipers all for under $95 (average cost for just the fuel line at other shops is $125-150). Long overdue review. Mickey, Terry, and Adam are extraordinary people who all excel at what they do. I've been fortunate to be able to own BMW M cars throughout the years. I've learned the hard way that having an extended factory warranty is definitely the way the go. However, there have been those times where you don't have one and need expert work done on your BMW. Honest. Modest pricing.(in my opinion, way cheaper than the dealer, while quality of work is extremely better). Work is done right the first time. Awesome Atmosphere! People actually greet you with a smile, go figure, right? Extremely accommodating. I've had some upgrade work done,"fun and custom stuff", dropped the car off, and then received a ride to and from SNA airport. Service above and beyond seems "cliche", but it fits Bullet Performance perfectly. I've been coming here since 2005. Thats why I said this review is way overdue. I have never had an issue with them. I know taking a car in for maintenance is never fun. I can honestly say, I have always left here with a huge smile. If you own a BMW and need any kind of work done related to maintenance, regular service, or my personal favorite, enhanced performance upgrades. There is no better place to go. They're a great group of trustworthy guys who are very professional, meticulous and knowledgeable. Seriously, these guys ROCK. I went in with a check engine light on my 535i, which they told me was likely a malfunction and to just ride it out (no charge). When I took my car into Sterling BMW for a service, they quoted me well over $8,000(!!!) dollars to fix my car. Mickey quoted me $3K and stuck to the price AND repair more on my car than promised. These guys are very informed, know their stuff (and regularly quoted me $150 to fix things that Sterling said would cost $1,400). I will never take my car anywhere else again! read more

My car is working!! No more "Self Leveling Suspension Inactive". My 2006 BMW X5 4.0 has not been right since shortly after I purchased it in August 2009. The air suspension kept turning itself off and my car was either riding super low to the ground or tilted to one side or the other. After taking my car to several dealerships / mechanics in Texas and Southern California, we had grown very disappointed with my car and were thinking of selling it. Then I happened to move to Irvine and found Bullet Performance. The team here is amazing not to mention the owner Mickey Miller and Brett Strom, operations manager. Their level of professionalism, expertise, persistence and compassion far surpassed what I paid them. Their shop is also super clean and they always made us feel welcome. The Self Leveling Suspension Inactive error is pretty common in my particular car (didn't know this before I purchased it) but the team never gave up. They inspected, tested and in some case replaced each part / device that makes up the air suspension until we found the one part that was causing all the problems. Due to my limitations with alternate transportation and a four yr old, they worked around my schedule and always made it possible for me to get home without undue stress. The team always found a way to work on my car when I could bring it to them and I felt like I had the best guys working on it with all their attention. The day after they fixed the problem, we drove all the way from Irvine, CA to San Antonio, Texas and my car never once displayed the error and the suspension felt better than it ever had. We are extremely happy with my car now and I can't say enough nice things about Bullet Performance. You cannot go wrong if you take your BMW to Bullet Performance. read more

My car had slipping clutch for few weeks. Took the car to local dealer. The dealer aren't 100% sure what the problems are after they had the car for a week. Took the car to Bullet performance, the owner Mickey found out the car had the slipping clutch within 2 min test driving the car. The new part was ordered right away even though I arrived 15 minutes before the closing time. Parts was installed the next day and I was on my way to enjoy my car the same evening. Price? Less than 2/3 of what dealer originally quoted me for ! Very knowledgable, friendly, and honest staffs are Bullet performance. read more

Scheduling an appointment is a breeze. Had my 540i in the shop for brakes. Got a call from Brett and he did not oversell me on my brake issue. Said I only need rotors and pads were fine. When done, mechanic sat with me and explained the proper way of breaking in the brakes for the first 300 miles. All I can say is Bullet continues to exceed my expectations. i do not know who trained those mechanics at BMW dealers from Crevier Santa Ana to Sterling in Newport Beach. I own a 2004 BMW 525i with 78,000 miles every now and then Transmission Failsafe pop up drive moderately. Took into those dealers they both advised i need a transmission replacement, cost would run ~ 6,500 at Crevier and 6,800 at Sterling. That is insane. It does not make any sense. I have told them by shutting off the engine and restart again the car would drive normal - fault disappears. I was feeling it has something to do with software or something else. Are they out to rip people off at BMW dealers?? Last week i ran into Kelvin my friend. He referred me to Bullet Performance. Spoke with Terry explained to him about the transmission failsafe. Terry was very knowledge by explaining to me it could be a lot of things....like alternator, sensor, battery, and etc.....Took my car in and three hours later Mickey called me and stated all i need is a shift lever assembly, and he recommended to replace two belts ( alternator, and A/C/ compressor ). The total for all repair was much less.......80% saving by not replacing the transmission. Thanks much Terry, Mickey, and Brian Rad. Thanks much to Brian Rad for a fabulous job in troubleshooting. I would strongly recommend for all BMW owners to have your car services there at Bullet Performance. Over the years, I have referred dozens of my friends to Bullet and they have all had similar experiences. I've owned 4 different 7 series and do a lot of my own work, mostly on the small "bolt-on" repairs, but when I'm over my head I take it to Mickey. They don't try to "upsell" or suggest unnecessary repairs. In fact, it's just the opposite. They do the necessary repairs and advise you on the things that may be needed in the future. Just called this place up to get some information on some BMW models I'm interesting in purchasing. Down the line I eventually want to tune these cars and increase their performance and overall fun. The models I was looking at were the 2013 335is and the 2014 M235i, each with about 20k mileage on it. The boys at the BMW dealership were rather unhelpful and couldn't manage to rattle off more than some specs I could have found with my right hand and 2 minutes on Google. I figured I'd be better off talking to people who come from a car enthusiast and performance-enhancing background and gave Bullet Performance a call. Terry picked up the phone and spent a lot of time giving me his in-depth opinion on the performance of the two cars, the maintenance costs, and which one is better for tuning. He gave me more information in 10 minutes than hours at the dealerships and online forums gave me. Terry knew I wasn't looking to spend my money at that point in time but still gave me his enthusiasm and time of day which meant a lot to me. If you're curious, he steered me towards the M235i. I own a BMW M Z3 Coupe about 150000ml. I had engine noise, so called up Bullet and they gave me a quote for rebuilding the VANOS unit. They worked with me on the price and did the job the same day. I was impressed with their professionalism and price (lowest price around!!!!!). To top it off, they reset my airbag light without charging me a cent! After a few weeks, I had a wire to come loose under the seat tripping on my SRS light. I went back and Mickey spent 30 min putting the wires back together without charging me a cent //// BY THE WAY BMW OF STERLING VA SAID THAT JUST TO RESSET THE LIGHT THEY WANT $160. CRAZY !!!! One of the reasons I chose the shop was because I had issues "loose bolts on my 328" a year before and when I went they helped me free of charge. It was a pleasure to be serviced by these professionals. Bullet Performance is incompetent. DO NOT TAKE YOUR BMW HERE. Dont make the same mistake I did and have Bullet Performance work on your beloved BMW. I have a 2007 530i. My car had a clicking sound coming from the right rear wheel. On a recommendation from a former friend I took my car to Bullet. After spending nearly $2,000 on a new rear wheel bearing and new rotors, both of which I absolutely did not need, I found out myself that the clicking sound was coming from my after-market custom wheel. Wouldnt you think that the best course of action for any auto repair is to look for the simplest explanation first? NOT AT BULLET. They look for the repair that will make them the most money and then lie to you about the problem. If you give them the benefit of the doubt, then at the very least they are imcompetent. After I threatened legal action and to expose them on Yelp, they finally gave me a small refund of $300. They refused to give me the full refund I deserved as they continued to lie and tell me the repairs were needed. My car only had 60K miles when I brought it in. After extensive research, I cannot find another 530i that needed a wheel bearing before at least 150K miles. They never even brought up that the clicking sound was coming from the wheel itself. Dont go to Bullet, they are incompetent and will rip you off. read more
