Thank you Victor for helping for helping me for the last 2 years! We need more mechanics like you in this industry. You're one of the only few mechanics who isn't afraid to touch my Italian car! Also who isn't over priced

They had a joy ride

They seemed to be concerned w body work and kept quoting me labor ($3500) and before telling me I needed a new timing belt, suspension and body work. He also added "you look like a rich girl" (that was awkward) "but if it's money we can work something out". Dropped it off to get fluids flushed and an oil change. None was done.

I had my Bentley towed into this shop as mice chewed through some wires, engine was misfiring and smoke coming from the crossed wires (turns out these were mass air flow wires). Later on the owner gave me an estimate of $2500 to repair, I thought this was excessive but they claim to be "Bentley Specialist" per their website, said it is a lot of work as the wires are under the engine and not easy to access. I have dealt with mice in this vehicle before, it was never this expensive but I went ahead with the repair as the owner seemed trustworthy and the vehicle was already at his shop. They said the car would be ready in a few days and they will contact me when done, after a few days I called him to ask when will it be ready and he would repeatedly say later today but yet would never call. They had the car for over a week and supposedly they could not figure out why the car still is misfiring but it was running better than before and they said it can be driven home. They also wanted more time time to dig in deeper to find the issue, obviously more money. I told them I am picking up the car as is and will be there in an hour, my thoughts were if they couldn't figure how to repair it by now they either did not know what they were doing or they are milking it. When I arrived they still had the car on the lift and were putting it back together, still not sure why car was not ready after I gave them an hour notice. I limped the car back to my garage where it sat for close to a year as it was challenging to find a HONEST/COMPETENT Bentley mechanic. I eventually found a reputable Bentley shop in San Diego, had the car towed there and he immediately found the issue (2 bad coils) fixed the issue for $600. There is no reason this shop did not check the coils/sparkplugs, they have a scanner and it showed a misfire on cylinder 1 and 12. This is basic mechanics 101, I have a scanner and this was the first issue that popped up. These were the error codes before I dropped off the vehicle and same codes after I picked it up V000769 - Cylinder 1 P0301 - 002 - Misfire Detected , V000786 - Cylinder 12 P0312 - 008 - Misfire Detected. In addition, I asked them multiple multiple times to send me pictures of the wiring repair before and during the repair, they acted clueless and they never sent any pictures. After I picked up the vehicle and paid the bill, I requested pictures again and they sent me some random pictures and none which were of the wires they repaired and now I know exactly why. Enclosed image are the wires they repaired, I felt like an idiot once my new mechanic showed me the repaired wiring and he was flabbergasted that I was charged $2500. My new mechanic said he would have charged me under $500 and he is in a shop that specializes in only high end exotics. To add insult to injury they did not even use heat treated wrapping for the wiring, they used regular electric tape which is currently unraveling in the enclosed pic (the red circle is where the wiring connects to the engine). You would think a Bentley Specialist would know a W12 engine will get hot and to properly wrap the wiring or even engine for that matter. In addition, I later was told you should never drive a car that misfires as all the excess gas that does not get burned off goes into the exhaust and destroys the catalytic converters. I wasted a lot time dealing with this car on something that should have been easily identified and resolved. Not only that the car registration expired, I could not renew the registration as a smog check was required, car would not pass smog back then due to the misfire and I had to transfer the vehicle to non operation status. As of today the car wont pass smog as it is having catalytic converter problems. I had this car for over 10 years, not once did I ever have a cat problem and the cats are very expensive on this car. I should also mention they charged me an additional $20 for gas. I would not recommend this shop.

This is the place I bring my bimmer.

I'm updating my review as I've now taken my car here three more times. Last August, I bought a BMW 335i with the N55 engine with 76k miles on it. That's the mileage where things start needing replacing on the e9x model. I've had the HPFP, rotors, and intake pipe now replaced here. Each time, Victor has been great with the service and telling me what the cost would be up front. And they get the job fairly quickly, meaning I get the car back the same day. I'll continue to bring my car here. I should also mention that my partner has had his Mazda diagnosed and the brake diaphragm replaced too.

My whole bumper and grill were destroyed & It looks brand spanking new now :D

They're too expensive. They quoted me $200 for an oil change for my BMW three series. I might as well go to the dealership for that much.

Don't bring Italian cars here. It should be called German Import Service, not European.

I have a 2008 Audi Q7 with a malfunctioning rear liftgate. I suspect I may need to replace the liftgate motor or motors. Any idea what something like this might cost so I can compare cost with the dealer?

Please bring your car in for diagnostics we need to make sure what the issue is before providing any quotes.

Star Motor Werks

We were referred to Star Werks Motors by Allen Tire next door after replacing all of our tires, and…read moreI'm so glad we were. Geoff and his team are exceptional. What really stood out was the level of transparency and care. He took the time to walk us through everything with video and photos of the car, clearly explaining what was done and what to keep an eye on down the road. No pressure, no upsell, just honest, thoughtful service. Our Mercedes is at about 80,000 miles now and it's running beautifully. You can tell they truly know these cars inside and out. We're based in Palm Springs and will absolutely continue to bring our car to Geoff for the bigger service needs and anything more complex. Worth the drive, and honestly the kind of shop you want in your corner long term.

I first came across Star Motor Werks on Instagram while scrolling through car content. At the time,…read moreI had been saving up for a brake upgrade and decided to reach out via Instagram (as suggested on their page) back in 2024. I received an automated response, but unfortunately never heard back. Life got busy, and I eventually forgot about it. Fast forward to a several of weeks ago -- another Instagram ad for Star Motor Werks popped up while I was, once again, deep in car content. This time, I decided to look up their Yelp page. Since I was already there, I used the "Request a Quote" feature and included detailed information about my goals for the project. The very next day, I was contacted by Denise, who was incredibly helpful and responsive. She asked a few follow-up questions and let me know she'd gather details and pricing for me. When she mentioned, "Oh yeah, we've done brake upgrades before!" I was genuinely excited. Her professionalism and friendly attitude immediately gave me confidence that I was in good hands. Shortly after, Geoff made multiple attempts to connect with me and even carved time out of his busy schedule to walk through the specifics of the project. He patiently explained every detail and offered thoughtful, professional recommendations on equipment and pricing. It's clear he truly knows Mercedes-Benz inside and out -- his knowledge and passion really show. I brought my car in for a quick inspection, and we reviewed everything in person. With Geoff's guidance, I ultimately decided to move forward with OEM AMG brakes and parts. Every detail was thoroughly discussed, and we penciled in a date for the project. So far, the experience has been professional, informative, and genuinely pleasant. I truly appreciate the time, transparency, and care the Star Motor Werks team have shown throughout this process. I'll be sure to provide an update once the project is completed, but I'm feeling confident and excited about what's to come.
