I I could only afford two pairs of tires so they advised me to get a cheaper one that way I was able to get another two new tires. Just for comparison and your tire is 400 each I was able to get away with 140 each plus the cost of installation. They actually transferred the tires from somewhere else just for me thank you Pep Boys! five stars. I have been coming to Pep Boys for a few years now but at a different location in OC. I have their credit card and have been a returning customer and will no longer be coming here again. I purchased four sets of tires in the last year and had unfortunately some nails and incidents where I had to replace two of them a few months ago. I always have purchased the tire warranty premium which includes free tire rotation every 6mo or so, so I went to this location to get the tire rotation done. When I got checked in, the first thing they asked me is if I got the work done at this location and I said no to which they did not seem pleased about it. After an hour an a half of waiting, I get a message from them saying I need to get two new tires and a wheel alignment. When I called to ask for more details, the person I spoke to explained that they couldn't pull my records for the tire warranty I have because my store closed, which WAS A LIE (I called both locations I've been to before deciding to come to this location for convenience) Will never go back to any Pep Boys because this location was DISHONEST and I have no trust in any of the other locations now. Unfortunately, the individual at the service desk was exceptionally unfriendly and rude, to the point where I decided to have my car towed to another auto repair shop instead of leaving it with Pep Boys. My family and I have been loyal Pep Boys customers for over thirty years, and we have always found the personnel to be friendly and attentive. Everyone working here was super nice and helpful. I thought I would need four new tires but they let me know I only needed two and went through several options with me. This was an emergency but they squeezed me in and I was out in an hour and a half with two new tires and an alert that my brakes were squeaking. The next day I tried to stop suddenly and I heard a clunk! I immediately called Pep Boys and they again said to come on in. They even found me a coupon! They always send a picture of what they found so you can rest assured that you were not being ripped off! I absolutely trust them! Very unprofessional!!!! Safety HAZARD‼ I went in to get my car fixed and told me that the Mai. Issue was fixed but there is still a minor issue but since I needed the car they told me it was safe to drive after getting the main issue fixed but the literally the day of driving/when I picked up my car my car started sputtering and stopped in the middle of the road later eventually having it to be towed! Absolutely ridiculous and more so dangerous and when I called then they told me they don't know what's wrong like what then why work there. Went there and had a diagnostics done on my truck. Turns out it needed new ignition coils and new spark plugs. They quoted me $1,700. They told me it could cost more if any of the plugs broke during removal. Told me $200 and hour for labor, but said theyll charge me $100 and hour for each plug. Thats $800 right there. Also told me it would take a few days and to drop my truck off Monday. I left, went out and bought the parts and had a friend of my girlfriend who is a mechanic do it, a certified mechanic, for $450. usually don't leave bad reviews for businesses because I don't want to hurt them, but the service at Pep Boys was extremely disappointing. I took my Mercedes there for an alignment, and they supposedly performed the service. However, after getting new tires and returning for another alignment, they took three hours to complete the job. Two weeks later, I took my car to Mercedes for service, and they informed me that my alignment was completely off--essentially, it had never been done properly. By that time, my brand-new rear tires had already worn down by 50% on edge due to the bad alignment. When I explained the situation to the team at Pep Boys, they refused to take responsibility and suggested I try using my Costco tire warranty instead. I then went to Costco, only to be told that misalignment is not covered under warranty, and my tires were a special order with no replacement option. Frustrated, I returned to Pep Boys, explained everything again, and they still refused to do anything to fix the issue. Now, I'm left with severely worn tires that should have lasted much longer--all because of the poor alignment service Pep Boys provided. I just wanted to share that I had a GREAT experience at the Pep Boys located on Bristol in Costa Mesa. Jose got me checked me in and gave me an ETA. They sent me a copy of the examination that they did, I gave the approval for the work and they completed the job an hour early. I just want to add that my brakes sounded like grinding metal before and I was sure that they were going to tell me I had to replace rotors as well, but they were honest and did not try to take advantage, that is huge for me. Rude and unempathetic towards the time they wasted of mine. I had an appointment for an oil change and possible oil pan replacement for an oil leak. When I arrived, I was told the oil leak diagnosis would take about 2 hours (even though I arrived on time at my scheduled appointment). I waited around for nearly 4 hours and the two times I asked for a status update, they did not want to give me a time when they would even begin the diagnosis, as they are "still busy with other vehicles", so I made the decision to leave (and I felt a strong vibe from the person who assisted me, that he was glad of that). Very upset with pep boys. They charged me $2,500 a while ago to "fix" some things that would help my car stop vibrating back and forth at stop lights. Even after paying this, my car was not fixed and still did the same thing (they kept my car for 5 days too and did not reimburse for any Ubers as I was without a car for so many days). I took it to the mechanic today and he told me all they needed to do was do the spark plugs which is a minimal price compared to what they charged me. In all honesty, I cannot understand the low ratings that this place gets. My review will be specifically about the service center, as I've been here numerous times, and cannot believe I have yet to review it on Yelp. I love coming here and getting my oil changed. They are fast, friendly, and under promise and over deliver. And I like that about a business. One thing I highly recommend is that you get the lifetime alignment for your car after your second alignment you've already more than paid for the charge for the alignment. One thing I like about this place is that the counter people are very friendly and don't make you feel stupid if you don't know something. I have been to this particular service center at least a dozen times, and have never had a bad experience never had a problem with any of the work they have done and always felt like I got a bargain every time I came here. One thing you should note, is always check for a coupon before you go in as they always have either a percentage off or a dollar amount off most types of common services. The bottom line? At this specific Costa Mesa location, I paid for front brake pads and front rotors. I also paid for rear brake pads (and not technically the rear rotors because they were not needed). This place is unethical. The warranty for my brake pads and rotors are 24K miles. After only 18.811 miles exactly (wayyy under 24K) I got two inspections at two auto centers to ensure accuracy and BOTH locations said I had to replace everything I had done at this location. I called the Costa Mesa location to let them know and they said come back in and I said no, I live in LA. They said I can go to a location in LA but didn't bother to upload my invoice or email it to me so I could go to another location. When I got to the LA location I had to call Costa Mesa all over again and have my invoice emailed to me since they didn't upload my invoice or records for the other Pep Boys locations to see. Because the front brake pads and front rotors were not good, the front rotors already had grooves on them and I had to get them replaced. I would have had to pay out of pocket but the manager at the LA location called his manager and got them approved to change them under warranty for me. Then my new rear brake pads from Costa Mesa were already in the RED ZONE and 2 mm after only 18,881 miles so LA fixed them under warranty. However, those faulty rear brake pads Costa Mesa installed caused me to have to pay almost $600 for the rear rotors to be replaced to get to the rear brake pads which were not my fault. There is not way Costa Mesa gave me the new rear brake pads I paid for. They were done. Don't go to this Costa Mesa location. I see why they have incredibly bad reviews and a low number of stars read more

I had my work van towed here on Saturday 3rd shout out to Tony the tow truck man from Hayden's tow. Since Covid rates for decide everywhere has shot up even at Mexican tire replace shops. Interestingly enough most of these tire shops are closed on Sundays and even some franchise stores. Call in advance regardless of what their internet posting indicates. This tip brought to you by Tony the tow man. Aside from that things look slow on a Saturday so i recommend dropping off car and coming back at close of day. There are eateries next door as well as fine restaurants. My fav next door is habana. Been going there for 16 years now. Repaired my front left tire on my Chrysler town and country and I paid less then $130. I thought in todays market it was very far and I was there for about two hours. I do NOT recommend this Pep Boys & I will tell you why. This Auto Repair shop has a parking lot as big as Costco... yet if you park your car there and do not go into Pep Boys. They will call the Towing company to pick up your car. I'm not sure why they didn't alert me of this as soon as I got out of my car but it spoke to me that if they aren't getting business.
