It reminds me of every auto shop my Dad took my brother and I Dad to as children: The technicians/mechanics in their blue uniforms, with large, blackened hands that feel as strong as a vice, the manager who looks just out of the shower, and the cashier/owner/partner - usually the heart and/or soul of the business. It looks, feels, smells, and probably bleeds tire shop; a small business, a slice of the American dream. I love it. IDK what other services they offer but I do know that they'll mount and balance your tires, but they do not perform alignments. I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend MEXICALI TIRE SHOP!!! Feb 14, 2026 Unfortunately my new Kia Soul ran over a large metal screw yesterday afternoon, in Fountain Valley CA. I only became aware that there was a problem when the low tire pressure warning light began to flash on the dash, and a warning tone started beeping. I drove to closeby Firestone Service and they had a 3 hour wait or possible first thing in the morning reschedule back log. I next drove to our local Kia Dealer in Huntington Beach, and they indicated a minimum charge of $65 plus leave the car a few hours... but advised that probably the tire would have to be replaced anyway because of the size of the bolt stuck I the tread. Needing to get home, I next dropped into Big O Tires on Beach Blvd in Huntington Beach, where they quickly looked at the tire and said the tire wasn't repairable, and it appeared that my smaller tire size wasn't in stock. Courteous staff, however. Plan B now meant replacing two tires at Costco early the next morning (two tires of the same size and brand and tread pattern, rather than buying one oddball brand replacement tire with a different tread pattern...also the factory spare was a limited-use temporary style). Fortunately, I heard about MexicalI Tire Corp of Costa Mesa from a neighbor who had an RV tire repaired recently, and seeing really great reviews on YELP, I decided to give hopeful repair chances one more try. I drove in to their Costa Mesa location on Saturday without an appointment, at 11:30 am, and was immediately greeted by two service techs who quickly removed the wheel from the vehicle, inspected, pressure and leak tested the tire, completed an internal tire surface grind and patch activity placement (not a plug!), refilled the tire and verified the correct pressure, and replaced the tire back. 25 minutes, start to finish. $20.00 was the total cosh... Cash or charge. Clean and friendly service, family-operated small business, no frills, no bait and switch games or "come back later" because were to busy attitude...just good work, quick service, affordable repairs, and a major cost savings compared to having to replace near new tires that only have 5,000 original miles on the set! I bought two tires a month and a half ago. A week ago while my son was learning to drive on the freeway one of the tires blew up on the 405. I went back and explained to them what happened and since it's a used tire, there's no warranty and I understood. So I went to pay full price for the tire and they cut the price in half. I had a troubling tire that was constantly having a slow leak bringing the tire pressure at 5psi less than all the other tires no matter how many times I added more air to it. I purchased tires from here in the past and they lost air right away, one was flat the next morning. My mechanic checked them out and informed me they were about 15 years old. Price Did seem to go to be true. It took a lot to get my money back I had to get someone else involved but they finally did refund me my money and they got their old cracked dried out tires back. Their used tires I've received had 80% or more tread at a 1/3 of the price of new ones out there. They will also tell you that you don't need a tire replaced rather than just sell you one like a lot of places. Would recommend calling first to see if they have your size tire for the used but they get new shipments every couple of Dara. Been going there for over 10 years now. read more

Been here many times. This is my goto place, whenever I get a flat over the past 7 years. Recently I had to replace two tires. While it is nice to have four matching tires, I truly only needed to replace two. Their prices are great because I may find nearly new tires for nearly half the price. When I call ahead to make sure they have my size, then go in, it makes for faster service time. Super nice people who offer great prices. I work in Corona Del Mar and noticed one day as I was coming out to my car that I had a huge nail stuck in it. I figured I would need a used tire to get me through the night so I looked up places on yelp. This was the first place that popped up so I decided to give them a call to see if they had my tire size. Unfortunately, they did not answer the phone after my many attempts. I figured they were busy so I decided to risk it and drive all the way down there myself. When I got there, I was the only one there and the phone was ringing off the hook. I asked if they had my size tire there and he said they did. Now, I have needed new tires quite a few times within the past few years because I drive a minimum of 100 miles a day and hitting nails on the freeway or side streets is common for me. Most places from San Diego to Riverside have only charged me from $30-35 for an almost brand new used tire. This place quoted me up to $60-$75 for one tire so I decided to just go with the patch. Americas Tire said that they would patch my tire for free, but I was already at Mexicali so I figured I would just support them and get it done there. At most, I have paid $10 for a patch so i figured it wouldn't be too expensive but I ended up paying $18.65 here. My tire was not flat at all and was not losing any air so it was done fairly fast. I see many reviews here saying that they were only charged $10 so I'm not sure why I was charged so much so that kind of sucks :( Overall, I got the tire patched and I have had no issues with it. My reason for a four star is the fact that they are a little on the higher side compared to most other used tire places and their prices do not seem to be consistent across the board. read more
