Raul and his team at Rallysport are hands down the best Subaru specialists in OC! They're extremely honest and won't try to upsell you on anything unnecessary. Had a different shop botch an engine swap and gave my car back with a limp transmission so I had to bring it to a place that knew what they were doing. Luckily I found Rallysport and they were able to diagnose the issue (damage to transmission caused by negligent work from previous shop) and I was able to fix the issue quick and get my car back to driving normally

These guys are awesome. My FRS is pretty heavily modified, so naturally when it started making a strange sound, I was worried. I took my car to a few local shops and they turned me down due to it being too modified. RallySport Engineering didn't ask any questions and got to work. Turns out it was a couple of worn pulley bearings. Quick job, dropped my car off. Diagnostic and work done in a day for a good price. No headaches. Oh and the guys are hilarious as well. Highly recommend.

Unless your Snapback collection is just as substantial as your Vape juice collection, or your bagged WRX with an STI wing is due for an oil change, I'd honestly recommend avoiding this place. My entire experience with this joke of a business has been an absolute, textbook Mechanic nightmare. For the sake of you, the reader, I'll keep this one short as possible, but I'm well prepared to write a novel on the absurdity of my experiences here. It all started with my 2017 Subaru overheating, with no Heater or AC. So I contacted the Shop owner and we'd agreed to drop the car off early next morning. During this time, is when I suggested it may be the heater core. Remember that, you'll need it later. The next day I was told there was residue, or "shit" in the radiator, in result needing a radiator replacement and fluid. I was a bit reluctant at this time, having to replace the radiator on an almost brand new car, but the Shop owner sounded convincing that this would resolve the problem. Picked up the next day, the inevitable scratches on side skirts from mediocre mechanics were present, but all in all, the car seemed to be running fine. After $900 and a few trips in Uber, I guess I was satisfied at that point, but still a bit weary that the root cause wasn't found.( Spoiler: it didn't need a radiator, the Flush temporary resolved the problem) Sure enough two weeks later, overheating and fog on the windows, clear signs of Heater Core, mentioned this to the Shop owner again and dropped the car off. Over the next few days it was some back and forth with how they've tested with a sniffer, checked head gasket, etc. But insisted the problem was with the (brand) new radiator cap. Reluctant again, I picked the car up which seemed to be running fine. A couple of days later, the car heats up bad, within 5 minutes of starting. At this point, I'm pretty livid, having spent $1200+ on Ubers, repairs and still overheating. Drop the car off - After no answer from the shop after a few days, finally they pick up and suggest it is the Head Gasket. I tell him abruptly that it is not, and if they've checked the heater core. They said they have, The next part would be an entirely new chapter; how badly they would contradict what they were saying, getting caught in straight up lies, I could go on. At this point, maybe a week later the Shop Owner was kind enough to offer a loaner car. After a few more ignored calls to the Shop, they finally allowed me to pick the loaner up after a week without mine. I was happy, I liked the car, except for the half empty tall can of Coors light in the back. Luckily, I found it and not a sheriff, or even worse, my daughter. Anyway another week goes by and I'm pretty much at the point of begging this guy to get one of his Devry Mechanics to bypass the heater core. At least with that, I can get around to driving the car until I can find a decent mechanic. Eventually, after this entire month's process, they bypassed the heater core as I requested. In the end, it seems he's done some decent work in the past based off these reviews, so I'll let you be the judge here. With just the basic understanding of cars, I can tell you that I was straight up lied to and deceived. If you do end up going here, be sure to request the parts they replace, and get copies of a customer form where you're stating the actual problem. Edit: More blatant lies. Notice how you don't address a single problem I posted. I never said Dan was my friend, I'm not exactly sure how you're correlating those two things. Dan is a random Mechanic I got a hold of while desperately calling dealers to get information to you on how to troubleshoot heater cores. I relayed his message, in which you seemed to be triggered by, you asked to call him, not me. I did tell you I had a friend at La Puente (you suggested taking the car there), but I had told you I couldn't get in touch with him, you knew this, so again, I'm not exactly sure what your thought process is here. For future information, water doesn't cause gunk in cooling systems, only conditioners or coolants with glycol will. The car has long been fixed by the way, flushed with built up (old) coolant lodged in the heater core. "We did this no charge" - yes. As you're labor warranty contractually states? "You have the receipts of the work" - you didn't read what I wrote. "You keep your car dirty". Way to raise the bar with that one. Let me throw up the pic then from the day I picked it up. I'll be honest, I felt a little guilty after submitting this review. I felt you made an honest attempt the first time around, ignorance or simply not knowing how major parts of a cooling system work can be brushed aside and worked out, but it was your ongoing lies, and complete lack of accountability that will keep this review up. So please. Spare me and yourself unless we need to go into how you planned on "patching the heater core with aluminum tape without removing the heater core".

I provided the proper tools and clearly explained that the wheels require careful handling. During service, I was told that a simple screw securing the wheel cover (center cap)--needed to access the lug nuts--had been stripped and could not be removed. This is a basic, non-structural screw and should not be damaged when handled properly with the correct tool. Instead of resolving the issue, I was sent to a third-party shop, Costa Mesa Brakes & Tires Inc. (literally next door, about a 3-minute walk), where I had to pay $150 out-of-pocket just to remove that single screw. I was also told the two businesses have an existing relationship. No alternative solution was offered, and after waiting nearly three hours, I felt forced to proceed. To make matters worse, one of my wheel covers was damaged while the car was in their care. I was told it was "pre-existing," but I have timestamped photos taken immediately before service showing it was not. I was then quoted $100 per wheel cover to replace it. For context, my car was inspected at another shop the day prior with no issues, and I've used multiple tire shops across Southern California without ever encountering something like this. Overall, this experience showed a lack of accountability and professionalism. Customers should not be paying out-of-pocket for issues that occur during service, especially when being directed to a neighboring business.

The Experience: Illegal Parking: First off, I noticed they park all of their customers' vehicles in the designated handicap spots without any placards. This is completely illegal and shows a total lack of respect for accessibility laws. The 5-Hour Wait: When I walked in and told them I had a flat, they informed me it would take five hours to fix. Why? Because they prioritize "paying" customers who buy tires from them. The worker explicitly told me that since American Tire Depot offers "Free Flat Repair," anyone coming in for that service is put at the very bottom of the priority list. Backwards Business Policies: It is absolutely shocking to offer a free promotional service to the public and then penalize people for actually trying to use it. When I asked if I could just make an appointment for a different day so it could be handled quicker, the employee told me, "No, appointments do not mean anything in regards to the time we start on your vehicle--it only guarantees you a spot for that business day." Are you serious? What is even the point of an appointment system then? Zero Urgency for Families: A flat tire should be handled with some sense of urgency, especially since I had my two young children with me. Forcing a family to wait five hours for a simple 15-minute patch job is ridiculous. Final Verdict: I will go to the ends of the earth to make sure people know about this place so no other families have to go through their nonsense business policies and horrible customer service. Take your vehicle somewhere else.

Auto shops are notorious for recommending repairs that can wait, at least in my expierence. As a person who does not know much about automobiles, I rely heavily on the character of the person at the front desk. Today that person just happened to be the shop manager, Justin. After spending over $700 on tires and alignment, I was informed that my outer tire rods needed replacement. I was hesitant because I have had bad expierences in the past with other shops. I asked alot of questions and was a little intense while doing it. Justin was professional and answered all my questions and was very good handling pressure. The area has walkable restaraunts/grocery stores, kind of near the road. An oil change estimated around 2.5hrs and the coolant+brakes added another like 2.5 hrs. Went in at 9 and picked up notification at like 2:30PM (wasn't waiting there). No shuttle today (maybe only drop off no pick up), but timely texting. The coffee is pretty good, limited seats inside, solid air conditioning, EXTREMELY CLEAN. They gave me quotes no problem on things I needed to fix and space to do my own research. I appreciate they didn't try to take advantage of a girl/was approachable. There was a google review thingie and coupons for $10 off. Maybe a bit of upsell on the coolant, but i figured my car needed the service once in a while for all the life its had. They suggest a liittle more serious things than I have experienced in the past like shocks/control arms. But overall anything they suggested for immediate repair totaled to a little under $1000 - decent// i did not do everything. I think the tire deals are cheaper than costco (and has some sort of repair warranty), the coolant they use is not the manufacturer brand (a common third party blend, long life), and they offer full synthetic and synthetic blend oil. I came in for an oil change deal ( tip: you can get a coupon if you sign up for the rewards on the chain website too). They also honored super transparently - no price upcharges (basic sedan) besides a bit of tax), the appointment was super easy with a form, email confirmation from the scheduler, coming in at the time- line moved fast. It was a really good deal and I appreciate the nonaggressive sales pitching. Everything was in terms of best interest maintenance. It can be a bit pricy in some things (probably a great deal on tires though), but its probably to the cost of the living area/economy situation of parts. I replaced my rear brake pads and it fixed the squeaking. Overall, I felt like it was a clean earnest location and I was happy to receive the quotes/have an informed choice. Always good to have an idea of what you come here for :). I would come here again, but I guess I do have to see how the quality holds up as I'm not a car person. I'd recommend dropping your car off and walking to the other plazas to try some nice food like crack shack/back bay area walk (if you're motivated to walk that far). Bring a hat as not much shade in the area. They're hiring too!

They could patch a tire for about $20 cash, and the service was quick and convenient. At that time, I felt it was a great option. This time, however, my experience was different. I am not sure whether it is because prices have gone up, but the tire looked repairable to me. Still, they told me it could not be patched and that I needed to buy a used tire instead. Since I was already there and the work needed to be done, I ended up paying $60 for a used tire. What disappointed me most was that I originally thought I would be able to keep my old tire and take it home, because I believed I could patch it myself and keep it as a spare. In the end, that was not how it worked. Their used tire replacement process meant they kept my original tire and gave me another used tire in exchange. So it did not really feel like I was simply buying a used tire for $60. It felt more like I was trading in my old tire, which did not even have a hole that obvious to me, and still paying $60 on top of that. I only became aware that there was a problem when the low tire pressure warning light began to flash on the dash, and a warning tone started beeping. I drove to closeby Firestone Service and they had a 3 hour wait or possible first thing in the morning reschedule back log. I next drove to our local Kia Dealer in Huntington Beach, and they indicated a minimum charge of $65 plus leave the car a few hours... but advised that probably the tire would have to be replaced anyway because of the size of the bolt stuck I the tread. Needing to get home, I next dropped into Big O Tires on Beach Blvd in Huntington Beach, where they quickly looked at the tire and said the tire wasn't repairable, and it appeared that my smaller tire size wasn't in stock. Courteous staff, however. Plan B now meant replacing two tires at Costco early the next morning (two tires of the same size and brand and tread pattern, rather than buying one oddball brand replacement tire with a different tread pattern...also the factory spare was a limited-use temporary style). I drove in to their Costa Mesa location on Saturday without an appointment, at 11:30 am, and was immediately greeted by two service techs who quickly removed the wheel from the vehicle, inspected, pressure and leak tested the tire, completed an internal tire surface grind and patch activity placement (not a plug!), refilled the tire and verified the correct pressure, and replaced the tire back. 25 minutes, start to finish. $20.00 was the total cosh...
