This place really is a treasure! I visited here after a recommendation from the owner of a nearby Korean grocery store. This is the ONLY Korean restaurant in town that serves authentic home style Korean food. The food, the ambiance, and the personalities all remind me of my own Korean mother's home. The yukgaejang was very flavorful and made with love. The banchan was fresh and delicious. It was absolutely perfect if you prefer traditional Korean food over the trendy modern Korean food. You can see in one bite why this lady has been in business over 20 years. The owner came out and chatted with me as if I were a family member and not a customer she just met for the first time in life... she even introduced me to all of the random Korean ladies that stopped by to chat with her (which by the way... is the MOST valid sign that this Korean restaurant is the real deal. Which made me feel very safe and at home as a traveler in a new city.

I heard great things about this spot from the get go and man did it not disappoint!! For food we ordered an egg roll, Crab Ragoon, Dolsot bibibamp, beef bulgogi, and the spread they provided was amazing! Our server was nice the ambiance was good it wasn't packed out. We got there for a late dinner and we were served promptly and everything was delicious Everything was affordably priced and will definitely be back.

Since we were in the area, and had another day, we ate at ANOTHER Korean restaurant. A little bit of HEAVEN.... Here I ordered Bibimbap, but not in the hot pot. It was a little too warm outside for that! It was VERY tasty. The food came out really quickly and the banchan was a welcome addition to the meals. Prices were reasonable. Again, weird to have crab rangoon included in your Korean meal, but I guess it's a thing in Saint Robert.

Truly the best restaurant food I've ever eaten. I've never felt the need to join the Clean Plate Club even after ordering too many entrees until today. Saw fit to use the broth of the Mandu Gook to get every last scrap out of the Bibimbap after having a refill of the cucumber kimchi. Service was phenomenal and the staff here is very sweet and attentive. It is a 90-to-150 minute drive for me to make it to Saint Robert to eat here, depending on whether I am at home or with my partner when I leave; Nevertheless, I will absolutely be making this trek a lot more often.

I stopped by after 1pm and was the only customer inside, I guess the lunch rush was over. I was given a menu, asked what I wanted to drink, went with water and ordered the Squid Bokkum. It came out quickly, with rice, and six banchan. Kimchi was store bought, so the taste was familiar... their cucumber kimchi was good as well. Squid Bokkum - they cut the squid into small bits and lot of veggies went into the dish - napa, carrots, zucchini, onions... veggie and squid ratio was around 50:50. As for taste goes, it was on the salty side. It was decent. I ended up adding the soybean sprouts and mix it (recommend), as it gave that crunchy texture. I asked for extra rice and was charged $2 for it. They asked if I wanted more side dishes, I said no, not knowing if I would be charged or not. The owner was nice, talkative and social. Probably would stop in again next time I'm in town.

This review is long overdue, but earlier this year when I lived at Fort Leonard Wood, the few times I ate off post it was at Bulgogi House, and let me tell you, it is some of the best Korean food I have had in a long time. The establishment itself may be unassuming but there is nothing short of great comfort Korean food on that menu. The pa jun is enough to be an entire dish and I ended up taking some home with me afterwards as the Bibimbap was plenty food for a meal and I was definitely satisfied leaving the restaurant. Being on orders I had access to DFAC food but it was nice to get off post for a change and try something new. It is just about 2 minutes from the main gate and definitely worth trying if you have not been before. I certainly will be back if I ever happen to be in Fort Leonard Wood again.

After trying basically all of the Korean restaurants in Saint Louis, MO, Springfield, MO, and the surrounding areas, Bulgogi House is truly the best, most authentic Korean restaurant you will eat at. Some of these low reviews I've seen for this place are those one unfortunate time situations. They are low staffed, it's just the owner and two kitchen ladies. So naturally after busy rush hours, the tables are going to be left dirty to accommodate for the service of new customers. But you seriously cannot go wrong with the food here. It tastes better than most Korean restaurants I've been at in both Korea and the states. I would know because I am Korean. They give you a ton of food and you'll get unlimited side dishes without extra cost. The rice I believe is an extra $1 for more. I am going to miss this place when we PCS! Check out all of the dishes I posted here over the course of 4 years since I've been here. I've gone to all of the other Korean restaurants and they cannot compare. PLUS, Bulgogi House takes card and not only cash like Cafe Korea and Koba do.

Excellent food and service, I love that they bring out a bunch of dishes to share as appetizers. It was very cool to find authentic Korean food in the middle of Missouri. My sister in law is Korean and very much enjoyed it. My only complaints are the table was dirty and the women's bathroom doesn't lock so we had to go in pairs so someone could watch the door.

Pork Bulgogi with KimChee Radish & Cucumbers was my favorite!!

"I don't care where we eat, just not sandwiches," he said as we sped down the highway. So I found Bulgogi House on Google. I had never eaten Korean food before, but I like Chinese, so I figured we would try it. I was worried when I saw the tired old strip mall. Then walking in, I was not reassured. I went to the restroom and *almost* left just because the light was flickering so badly. But we had already ordered (Pork Bulgogi for me, Dumpling Soup for him). The waitress was extremely friendly and helpful. When the food came, I was a little disappointed as I did not expect Bulgogi to essentially be fried rice w/no egg. At the same time, I was *AMAZED* by the complimentary selection of toppings that came with our meal. Kim-Chee EVERYTHING (Radish, Cucumbers, Bean Sprouts, & Cabbage, Korean Pancakes, potatoes, and a small dish of a fish topping) Then, she brought me Miso soup and stood by to watch me take my first bite. But to get back to the Bulgogi: I had a minimum of 1 bite pork, 2 peas, and 2 onions IN EVERY BITE. I have never had such loaded up fried rice in my life-it was great. But-it was EVEN BETTER with the KimChee Radish and Cucumber. 4 stars bc of ambiance, but really this is a GREAT little spot. Extremely good value for your $$

Real authentic Korean food! I ccome here very often.

Called in for a pick up order. Lady said ok 25 min, I left my house 30 minutes later and arrived at the restaurant to wait another hour to get cold food and not my correct order. Stay away.

Bulgogi House overshadows and provides strong competition with Cafe Korea for their more diverse Korean menu. The Champong (Spicy Seafood Noodle Soup) is their specialty dish despite the ironic name of the restaurant. The heat, size, and incredible taste is uncomparable and matches nicely with a bowl of rice and the side dishes they serve! Their other dishes that are worth checking out is the Soondooboo (Soft tofu soup, I recommend the beef and seafood mix) Chajangmyung (Chinese style noodles in savory beef sauce) and the Bulgogi which is ok, but a bit pricey. They also only charge $1 for a bowl of rice (Cafe Korea charges $3 and they give half the rice. WTF?) The only downside is that they only have one waiter (The owner sometimes jumps in to take orders when it gets busy), but they are very friendly and really show pride in their menu and rep! Their Kimbap (Korean rice seaweed rolls) is phenominal, but are a little pricey. In conclusion, come here for legit and addictice Korean food. Go to Cafe Korea for Americanized Korean food. Sources: I am a Korean and I usually order stuff on their menu I can't cook well, or is too much of a hassle to make after work.

Had the lunch bulgogi and it was good. Seated quickly, lots of space for larger parties, and affordable. Good spot for local Korean food.

Pro tip: please check their facebook page for updated hours, contact information, and menu of the day. I stopped by to place a carry out order. The team was so welcoming and friendly. That perfect sincere hospitality you don't see too much anymore. The space is absolutely adorable and comfortable. When my order was ready, I was handed a bag that easily weighed five pounds! I went with the blackberry fried chicken. This is like nothing I've ever had. The chicken was super crispy like Korean fried chicken and just covered in a sweet sticky blackberry sauce. The chicken was well seasoned and juicy. Every single bite was perfect. I went with the macaroni and cheese and greens for my sides. Both came served in generous portions of deliciousness. The greens might be a little spicy if you don't like heat. My order came with two cornbread muffins. The meal was a very generous and a filling one. I also picked a slice of peach cobbler cheesecake from the dessert case. While tasty, I would have preferred one or the other. Both cheesecake and cobbler in one dessert was just a little too much for me. But delicious nonetheless. I can see why this spot comes with such great accolades for food service and hospitality.

This truly is a hidden gem in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri!! We went to visit my daughter for family…read moreday and graduation from basic training and all of the drill sergeants raved about how this was the best soul food restaurant in town. They didn't lie. Not only was the food amazing, but the service was also impeccable. The waitress was so nice, and she gave us history on the restaurant and her family. There were pictures of her family on the walls, and they even had a tree branch with wooden portraits of family members (family tree). It was so cool!! The food was so good!! We had the chicken wings, greens, mac and cheese, yams, and catfish. The portion sizes were huge, so we had food to go. A person in our party had the red beans and rice and fried corn and she said the red beans and rice was some of the best she has ever had, and the sauce on the fried corn was good. The cook's husband came out and talked to us at the end of our meal and gave us some background on how he was also in the military, retired and is now working at the restaurant with his wife along with his government job. Everybody was just so nice and welcoming, and it definitely was a great experience. The prices for the food was very affordable considering the portion sizes. We have to go back in January for her next graduation. We will definitely be going back to eat there. I can taste it already!!
