I'm so happy this build a bear is still open! They temporary closed because it moved from one side of the mall to the other. Its new location is definitely getting more foot traffic. Yay. The staff here is so friendly. We took my toddler to get her first build a bear. She loved it. There were dozens of bears and characters to choose from. Her choice; Bluey. It is pricey starting from $20+ (for the stuffed animals), clothes, accessories for them are extra. They also have birthday parties here. Shout out to Lily for the amazing customer service.

10 out of 10 experience for my daughter's Birthday Party we hosted here! This place is an adorable and fun experience for both kids and adults. Not sure how this store isn't rated 5 stars. As mentioned, we hosted a Birthday Party here and it was everything we could have imagined, thanks to the amazing staff that were very kind and attentive to our large party (that created a total of 14 furry friends)! The party packages are definitely the way to go for large groups. We decided on the Ultimate package for $50 per furry friend made and it included all of the following: Party Host(s) 1 furry friend up to $38 1 hanger clothing item 1 pair of shoes 1 carrying sling bag or 1 bear condo 1 birthday celebration song from the entire store & party guests 2 hours of fun 0 clean up for the parents!! Would 100% come back again and host another party/event! Thank you, ladies for such a fun and memorable party that the Birthday Girl and all our guests (children and the adults), thoroughly enjoyed!!

nice staff here but obviously always really pricey... not a fan of spending 40 bucks for a $3 bear, plus spending another 50 bucks on accessories. if you want to get here quickly then park in the parking structure close to riverwalk, and park on the third level so you can walk across the bridge. when you cross the bridge build-a-bear is about 200 ft to the right.

We had ordered Pompompurin online. At that time it was limited to online purchase. We decided to go to the Fashion Valley location to stuff the plushie. It's just past Macys walking west, right by the Bath & Body works shop. We were immediately greeted upon arrival. Alejandra helped us right away, she helped us with the voice recorder, the scents and stuffing the plushie. She was very attentive and showed a lot of respect when she was talking to my daughter. I can tell she really loves her job and is great at it. After the plushie stuffing, Pompompurin looked alive lol. You can choose the amount of stuffing, you can make it soft, medium or really stuffed. My kid chose medium, it's huggable and soft. There was a fairly good amount of clothes, shoes and accessories to choose from. After you choose what you want on your plushie, you can dress them up on the dressing area. Then after that, you will head to the computer area and print out their birth certificate. This is where you can make up any name for your plushie! Once you are done, head over to the cashier. They will have the birth certificate for you and check you out. Keep in mind, adding accessories, clothes etc it all adds up. This can be a pricey experience lol but totally worth it. Some of the clothes cost as much as the plushies themselves. There were alot of plushies to choose from. All at different prices. They charge for the boxes now. It is .95 cents. Or you can choose a backpack for the plushie. They range from around $8.00. The backpack has little holes on the side so your plushie arms can hang out of it. Super cute. We went with the Sanrio theme. Bring your kiddos here for a great experience! Overall clean shop, friendly staff and vibe.

Came in during the week on my daughters 2nd birthday. The employee helping us was absolutely amazing. My daughter had the best time making her bear and exploring the store. She got a big ole birthday sticker and bear crown. They also offer a military discount which I had no idea about until I heard the customers in front of me. Mission valley has plenty of parking and we loved our experience . Definitely recommend.

Build-a-Bear is a niche experience, but a right of passage for kids. It's pricey, but it's worth it for the memories... right? I came in on during the weekend and it was insanely busy. There was no crowd management, and they seemed to be short staffed. They didn't have much clothing that was gender neutral or NON holiday related, which was a bit frustrating. I really, it was a fun experience to go through but I'd only come back for a special occasion!

    Stuffing time!

Dani was our birthday attendant and she was the sweetest!! We will definitely recommend this location to our friends for birthday parties.

The whole experience was hands-on and creative, and my kids had an absolute blast mixing and customizing their slime. We've actually been to another slime place in LA before, and while it was bigger, the slime quality there just didn't compare--it kept breaking apart and tearing. The slime at Slime Kitchen, though, was so much better. Super stretchy, smooth, and held together really well. You can tell they use high-quality materials. We ended up making slime as a family, which made it even more memorable. It is a little on the pricier side--if we'd known ahead of time, we probably would've just let the kids do it--but honestly, it still turned into a really fun family experience. If you're visiting San Diego or just looking for something different to do with your kids, this is definitely worth checking out!

The play area was exceptionally crowded, and my toddler who had just turned 2 at the time had a hard time navigating around the older, bigger kids. The age range felt a little questionable to me. At other play places we frequent, the kids tend to be closer in age, but that wasn't the case here. My son was knocked around a few times by bigger children, and the environment became very overstimulating. We ended up leaving early because of the chaos and my son not able to properly use anything... nearly all of the fruit and vegetable toys from the market area had been scattered throughout the play space, leaving the market and kitchen section where many of the younger kids were gathered mostly empty. Overall, it just didn't feel like the right fit for us. We decided to give Kids and Coffee another try this past Wednesday, thinking it might be a better experience without a birthday party happening... and it was! We paid for two hours, stayed about an hour and a half, and my son had a great time. One thing I really appreciate about Kids and Coffee is that their café is nut and peanut free, which is especially important for families like ours dealing with multiple food allergies. That peace of mind was honestly the main reason I wanted to give the space another chance. We were even considering adding Kids and Coffee into our regular rotation since it's closer to us than some of the other play places we enjoy. Unfortunately, after our visit, my son became extremely sick most likely with norovirus. I completely understand that illnesses can happen anywhere kids gather, and I don't blame the business for that. However, during our entire visit, I didn't see any employees actively present in the play area. Parents, myself included, were gathering and returning the pretend produce to the market area, but none of the toys appeared to be wiped down or sanitized. At other play places, such as Tiny Tiger, there always seems to be staff actively cleaning and sanitizing throughout the day. Because we have been to so many play places now with great experiences and have not come home with an illness from any other we will just be sticking to our regular spots moving forward. I think sanitation still needs a little work at this location or perhaps even someone checking temperatures at the door like other places All in all, we unfortunately won't be returning.

My daughter can easily play for the full three hours and still not be ready to leave. It's definitely geared toward high energy kids who need space to move. She leaves tired and happy every time. The place is kept clean and I always see staff walking around with a tiny handheld vacuum cleaning throughout the day. It's kind of funny but also reassuring because you can tell they're staying on top of it. We've had good experiences with the employees too. Everyone has been friendly and helpful. I really appreciate that they allow you to bring in your own snacks, drinks, and food. That honestly saves us money and makes it easy to hang out for the full three hours without constantly buying concessions. Their concession stand is mostly chips, cookies, candy, and bottled drinks. There isn't really hot or substantial food available, which isn't a big deal, but it's something to keep in mind so you can come prepared. There are couches inside the play area for parents, but I usually sit at the tables in the lobby. Now that my daughter runs around independently, I can actually sit and relax while she plays. It's nice not feeling like I have to hover the entire time. We purchased the Elite Membership for $50 a month. It includes three hours per day every day plus 10 percent off merchandise, concessions, and birthday parties. For us it's worth it because she genuinely uses it multiple times a week. If you go often, it makes sense financially. Parking is also super easy. There's ample parking and we've never had to circle or deal with any hassle, which is always a plus when you're unloading kids. The sock policy wasn't a big deal for us. We don't go on the trampolines, just our daughter does. When we showed them we already had grip socks from another place, they only charged us $3 for theirs as a one time purchase. We just wash them and keep them in the car so we're always ready. If adults aren't playing, you can walk around in your normal shoes or socks. My only complaint is the music on Friday evenings. They usually have an emo playlist playing. It's not about the volume, just the type of songs. I'd personally prefer more current top hits or upbeat family friendly music during play time. Not a huge issue, just something I've noticed. Overall, it's a great place for kids to burn energy and for parents to actually sit down for a bit. We'll definitely keep going.
