Nice selection, good parking, very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Within the first two minutes when I was there I could hear them ask everybody who walked in "What can I help you find?" as soon as the person walked in. Once each person told them what they were looking for, the staff members would tell them from memory what aisle to go to. As for me, they helped me immediately and gave not only a ton of great advice about the items that was purchasing for a home pressure canning, they also told me the best way to get the best deals. Tori in particular was especially helpful and very knowledgeable. I felt welcomed from the moment I walked into the store until well after I left with my purchases. when in the area and in need of anything, I will definitely be back here. Went to get keys cut, they did not work the 1st time, so went to get them replaced and they still did not work on our doors. And upon the second time returning them, I got an "oh well". .... Safe to say we went elsewhere to get our keys copied. I implore you to do the same. read more

I needed to copy a key here since it was a type of key that neither Loews not Home Depot could duplicate. Who knew! The man who was working the service desk was so friendly and knowledgeable, and even told a couple of jokes while I waited! The pricing is very fair and I like supporting a local hardware store. To my surprise, they had a big selection of Yankee candles in the store, with several seasonal ones being on sale. The other item I noticed that they carry is candles by Milkhouse Candles. Their scents are so rich and literally every candle smells wonderful and looks adorable in its little milk pail design. These would make a great gift for anyone or a lovely addition to your own home! I will definitely try to support this business whenever I can. They always have way more to offer than I'm aware of! read more

This is where to go for help. If you are trying to figure out how to do something or need a part and aren't sure what part, these guys will help you. If you are looking for a big, shiny store this isn't it. This is like a neighborhood store. Most of the employees are older and have lots more knowledge than the people working at Home Depot! I've come in here, knowing WHAT I have to do, but not exactly sure HOW to do it. These guys, (usually one will call over another for a consult), have taken me through the store to get the parts and talked me through what I needed to do. The check out process can be kind of slow. Rarely is more than one lane open. Sometimes they will have the customer service desk help out if it gets really backed up. Oh and they won't give you quarters for the car wash next door. read more

Though Ace is a chain store, every time I walk into this location I feel as though I'm walking into my local hardware store. The staff is friendly and helpful. I almost always shop at Home Depot. But they didn't have the specific mousetrap I needed (don't ask). So I made a quick trip to this fine establishment. First, the employees are super nice and helpful. I have the feeling a lot of them are retired construction workers, electricians, plumbers, etc. Not high school grads like you find at Home Depot. They pointed me in the right direction and I found what I needed with no problems. Second, the store is small and cramped. The aisles are very narrow, barely wide enough for one shopping cart to go through. I had my son with me so I found it difficult to navigate certain parts of the store. Finally, there is no place in the parking lot that I could see to leave the carts. I couldn't just leave my son in the car while running the cart back inside. So I ended up leaving it in the next spot over. I know, not supposed to do that, so sue me. I give this store 3 stars - mostly because of the cramped layout and parking lot thing. I have been supporting this local business for over 30 years. I was disturbed and startled to have one of the owner/managers cause me to lock my brakes to avoid a collision in the parking lot. He looked me right in the eyes before abruptly ditching into the store office. I feel disrespected and unappreciated by ownership. I feel like I lost a family friend today. Very sad. read more

I'll start by saying that I am a blonde female with a reasonable knowledge of hardware/building, but by no means would I consider myself proficient. I have also declared on multiple occasions that Home Depot is the happiest place on earth. The folks at Home Depot have been dethroned, and Ace Hardware has replaced them at the top of my list. I needed a light fixture rod cut down and threaded and have spent 2+ weeks looking for someone that could do it for me only to find that no one could do what I needed. I called everyone I could think of before I decided to just stop in by Ace where I met my new hero - Bob. I showed him what I needed done and he confirmed what I heard before - non-standard thread, threading machine won't do the job. However, what Bob knew and no one else did was that they had the rod I needed - in stock, on the floor - and he could cut it to the size I needed. Within 5 minutes Bob found, cut and polished up the rod I needed in perfect form like he was Harry freaking Potter himself. What is a shame is that all the other places I had stopped had that same product - just no one on the floor knew enough to realize they could help a desperate designer fill a client's wish. Ace is the happiest place on earth, and they have gained a new regular customer. read more

I have always found Ace Hardware to be full of helpful, thoughtful, friendly people who have taken my requests seriously, from the smallest screw, glue, filter, key, paint request, whatever! I appreciate their drawers of screws, washers, etc. so I can get the amount needed and no more! Every heavy bag of birdseed has been carried out to the car for me without me ever having to ask! Too expensive, much more expensive than other hardware stores in the area. The price you see it's not the price it will be charged; there is always a price error and you will be charge more than shown in the isle. Refund not a concept understood here, if they make a mistake and overcharge you, you have to go back to get your money back. read more

I stop at this store first before going to the big box home improvement stores for most items. Have been shopping here for almost 25 years. I understand that I may be paying a little more, but I like the feeling of a small, old fashioned hardware store. Just this weekend, I bought stain for my wood fence, accessories for my grill and light bulbs. In the last few weeks, I've purchased propane for my grill, dirt for a garden project, and fertilizer for my lawn. I regularly shop here for there bulk hardware (bolts,etc). If I only need to buy a few, I only buy what I need, they have a large selection and it's easy to find. As I just mentioned, I shop i the paint section. I find the staff in the paint area helpful and their selection is large. While there are a few high school-age employees, there are also many workers who I think were former tradesmen, so I've gotten some useful direction. Now, I also had a return this weekend--bought the wrong bulb--and I had no issue returning it. The workers at the store are always friendly, and they know the layout of the store and always take me to the item I'm looking for. As you might guess, parking is very close to the door. I just have an experience here I don't get at the big box stores and I like supporting local businesses. read more

Personal experience: I attempted to exchange a product (an ACE brand product, nonetheless) here which I purchased at another ACE hardware, and I was actually purchasing more than the return value, so they would have actually made more money, and they refused to do it because it was purchased at another ACE. (So, ACE Product, bought at an ACE Hardware, attempted to return to an ACE hardware, with a receipt). When I went to return the product to the original ACE, they told me the other store absolutely could have and should have taken it, because it was an ACE product and I followed ACE's return policy. I am not putting down ACE hardware's, they are great stores and you usually can find more than you're actually looking for there. I am surprised by their variety and selection. Just this one is not worth my time. I found them to be rude. I will go to literally any other local ACE and will be more satisfied! read more

My wife and I moved to the area this past summer and we moved into an apartment that needed some attention. Needless to say, Ace quickly became my hardware store of choice. This is what a hardware store should be, great selection, excellent and friendly customer service, manageable size and reasonable prices. I even found myself looking forward to my new-customer 5$ gift card that I obtained after a couple months. The store is within biking distance to my place which makes it a fun Saturday afternoon destination. I will be a customer for some time to come! read more

I go here all the time. You can get in and out VERY quickly. A lot of the staff seems older (and maybe a little bit cranky??) but no biggie, how exciting can it be to work in a hardware store. Bottom line is is that they are convenient, ALWAYS have what I need, have great hours and prices. I'd much rather go here than walk around one of the big-box chain stores, just my opinion. I have only dealt with the cashiers and the front desk so they may differ from the employees helping out on the floor, but what I can say about the employees I've dealt with has been nothing more than rude. Every time I go to Ace on Main Street, they are friendly and helpful, but today blew me away. I bought a new grill which they offered to assemble and deliver for FREE. They even mentioned that if I put the old grill out on the curb, they would haul it away for me. At about 2:30 this afternoon, I realized I forgot to drag the old grill out to the curb, so I ran out there to try to do that before the Ace delivery guys showed up. When I went to the back yard, they had already delivered the grill, detached my propane tank, and hauled the old one away without even ringing the doorbell for instructions. These guys are the absolute epitomy of old school full-service everything. In the past they have helped load my van with bags of mulch, given me expert advice on how to find replacement parts and how to fix things in my own home. Truly this is one of the last places that offers such excellent and friendly service. read more
