I have been using this family-owned business for OVER 30 YEARS and two homes in northeastern Illinois. I was lucky to find their company in the days before the internet. Why do I love this company?--they are different from the rest. They don't set you up to load your home with toxic chemicals on a regular basis. Rather, they come out with a low-level toxin spray that's safe for children and pets once it dries. Yet, it kills all the bugs that are bugging you. I have children and pets. Babies and pets are in close contact with the floor where the chemical is sprayed along the baseboards. Once it's dried, I know that it won't affect them. And, if you're really concerned about exposure, you can tell them where you consider it unsafe to spray--and they're totally cool with that. Quality: You call them out, they spray, and the bugs are dead and gone. AND, THEY GIVE YOU A SIX-MONTH GUARANTEE!!--if you see any bugs that they sprayed for within 6 months, they re-spray for free. They stand by their work! Value: Who wouldn't want a pest-control company like this? I wouldn't. That's why Bugs Anonymous has been my go-to FOR OVER 30 YEARS AND TWO HOMES! They charge you for a call and give a 6-month guarantee. If you see anything within 6 months, they re-spray for free. I currently have a large house and the owner sprayed the whole place, including the basement, attached garage, and outside perimeter for (as of 10/23 and my location) for less than $200. That means that I have a bug-free home for less than $400 per year! The added benefit--we live with less toxins in our home. We don't know the long-term effects of even the best chemical bug sprays, so less is best. And Bugs Anonymous agrees! They would rather give a "one and done" service and keep you as a customer for decades than suck you into a contract that unnecessarily sprays your home with TOXINS on a regular basis whether you need it or not. Debbie was professional, very thorough, and CARED TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM. Eco-Shield of West Chicago came out a set some bait boxes, then left. Unless you stop the ingress, you've done nothing. Description of work: Searched entire foundation for mice evidence, set bait boxes, found runs and nests, placed steel wool in discovered access points to block ingress. SOLVED THE PROBLEM. These guys have done a great job for us over the past 3 years. We live in a wooded area in West Chicago so always have carpenter ants and yellow jacket problems. They are super responsive and know exactly what they need to do to kill the pests. Plus they come back if the bugs reappear and charge one fixed price for the year. Awful! I called and asked to set up a time to have someone come out. I explained the problem and what I was hoping they would be able to do to fix any problematic areas. The girl was very nice on the phone. I asked her with the problem we were having if someone would be able to stop over same day. She said yes they could squeeze me in which I was very appreciative. John came and you could tell from the minute I said hello he wasn't in a good mood. I explained the situation and showed where the problem was. As he was setting up traps I was asking questions with the traps he was laying down. He made me feel like I had no right to ask him any questions. Like it was a bother to him. So he continued around to the garage and then the basement when my husband happened to call me. I explained to him what John was doing and he wanted to speak with John since he couldn't be there to ask questions. My husband was on FaceTime with John while we were in the basement. And John became very annoyed with my husbands questions about the traps that were being laid so he told my husband he would grab his stuff and leave. Being that they were on FaceTime I could hear how the conversation was going and not at any time did my husband yell or tell John to get out. John just didn't want to answer questions and he was annoyed from the start. I hung up with my husband and tried talking to John asking him if he had seen anything in the basement or where he thought the problem has started. He wouldn't look at me or speak to me. I asked him again can you please answer my question and he looked at me and said "I'M GETTING MY SHIT AND LEAVING, LIKE YOUR HUSBAND TOLD ME!" That was never how the conversation went with either my husband or myself. He told me since he's not getting paid he's not helping me. Never did I say anything about not paying him. Payment hadn't even been discussed yet. He still hadn't even looked around the rest of the house outside or anywhere else inside. I told him I never said anything about not paying him for his time nor did my husband. I was hoping he could still help me get rid of the problem. He lost it completely and stormed out of my house. Still leaving me with zero answers. I would never recommend this company! It doesn't even deserve the 1 star rating. And my father whas used him for years will never use him again. No reason to treat a customer who needs your help like this. Completely ignorant! read more
