Over the past two years, we've spent a significant amount of money with Homeshield to replace attic insulation and treat our home for rodent mites caused by repeated mouse infestations. Our insulation warranty was supposed to include service to prevent mice from re-entering the attic, yet new openings continue to appear and remain unaddressed. Each time an inspection is done, it takes weeks to schedule a follow-up appointment to actually seal the openings. Recently, after hearing mice again--now with a newborn in our home--we contacted Homeshield immediately. A technician quickly confirmed there were openings near our A/C line that needed to be patched, but for two weeks we were told they couldn't schedule the repair because the technician hadn't submitted the required diagram. When an appointment was finally scheduled, no repair was done--only additional traps were placed in the attic. After escalating the issue, we were told a manager could come re-inspect the home, but not until nearly a month after the initial report. At this point, I'm frustrated by the lack of follow-through and the amount of time I've had to spend chasing updates. We are simply not receiving the service promised under our insulation warranty and monthly maintenance plan, and we will likely be switching vendors soon. Unfortunately, based on our experience, I would not recommend Homeshield Pest Control.

Although it appeared to be an outdoor roach, I specifically requested that they treat the situation as if it were German roaches out of caution. This required a deep treatment, which meant completely emptying cabinets, drawers, closets, and moving appliances throughout the entire house. It was a huge amount of work, but we did everything required to prepare. When the technician came, the service felt rushed and incomplete, as if not all areas were properly treated. Still, we trusted they did their job. We were told a second treatment was required two weeks later, and that's where everything went downhill. April 10: I waited all day, received no call, and no one showed up. I contacted the company, and they couldn't reach the technician. Rescheduled to April 13 (3-5 PM): I rearranged my schedule again and even missed work (losing income) to be home. Once again, no call and no show. I left my house at 5:00 PM after my appointment window ended. The technician showed up at 5:05 PM, outside of the scheduled time, expecting me to be there. After this, I spoke with a manager named Louis. Due to the poor experience, I told him the only way I would continue service is if I was taken off the year contract and switched to month-to-month. He agreed and said he would send written confirmation. I never received that email. It has now been days, and despite texting him (as he suggested for communication), I have received no response. On top of everything, since the treatment, we are actually seeing more bug activity than ever before--worse than before we even started service. We are seeing more bugs than we ever have, including ants and spiders throughout the house. When I called about it, I was told to "wait for the treatment to settle," which is frustrating given everything we've already gone through. After preparing my home three separate times, missing work, and dealing with repeated no-shows and lack of communication, I can confidently say: This company is unreliable and unprofessional.
