We went to the cannery location last week on 7th street and we were in Popcorn heaven! We picked up bags which included green apple, red chili, caramel with almonds, rainbow and a green chili mix. The lady welcomed us to the store and asked what brought us in. We mentioned that we were at the cannery location on 7th street and saw some of their candy displayed. The store is in a gated parking lot and clean. She gave us descriptions first of each candy and how they are made daily. Gave us a free sample. We spent a good hour in the shop and really enjoyed the offerings and made both popcorn and chocolate purchase between myself and my two adult kids. Thank you for the warm welcoming. min

This "little" spot is pretty big. I saw them on either Food Network or the Cooking Channel. They featured their piñon nut roll. They don't sell them individually anymore. You have to buy a candy pack to try them. The shopping area is kinda small but you can see everything they offer right up close. I bought a couple of pecan rolls, a white chocolate covered graham cracker, and a praline... Hard pass! The praline tasted nothing like one from Savannah or Charleston! It had like an aftertaste. That praline made me skeptical of eating anything else. The graham cracker was ok and I still haven't tried the pecan roll (a month later).

A true hidden gem in Albuquerque!! Love to see local candy stores still thriving in the city. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful in helping me pick my gifts out. The chocolate was absolutely divine

This is what I purchased today.

Hello Albuquerque! When was the last time you went to Buffett's Candies? They have been around since 1956 as a local family-owned business. I have received Buffett's candy as a gift, and I have seen the giant candy cane that leans on the building on Lomas and Louisana. But, I'll be honest I had never been to the candy shop until last week, and I shopped there again today. Their candy is the best! Al, the confectioner who assisted me both times, is an extraordinary individual and one reason to return. Al greeted my sister and me with a big smile and happy greetings even though we walked into the establishment 5 minutes before closing on Friday. He was over the top helpful and genuinely friendly. I may not be back every week, but I will visit often. My favorite candy is the Zia, which has a few variations, dark chocolate, pinions, and caramel; yum! You don't have to wait for a special occasion, but their candy is exceptional!

Dog treats were a big hit!

I've been driving by this spot for years and finally stopped in to check it out. I discover that Buffett's Candies is wonderful. This locally owned shop has been here since the fifties. They ship to you or you can go into their store. Employees were sweet. The lady that helped me went above and beyond. There's lots of pinion candies. They have Lobo themed candy--great for the graduates. There's yummy popcorn flavors. I loved the Butter Rum Candy popcorn, but if you want a taste of local flavor you may want to grab the red and green chile (Christmas) popcorn. They have chocolate covered popcorn--yes! And KetoDiet diet be damned, I tried the cherry gummy rings which was another winner. There's colorful giant lollipops, flower shaped chocolates, chocolate with chile, chocolate and caramel covered marshmallows, and much more. I absolutely plan to return. The only thing that would be a nice addition would be a small table and coffee. I would totally bring the hubby here for a yummy treat and a cup o joe.

Love in a 1lb box!

My friend said she was going to Albuquerque, NM and asked me if I wanted anything...no thanks on a souvenir mug, magnet or hanging hot air balloon chotski...as I KNOW exactly what I want AND it's edible (and not cheap). After seeing an episode of Andrew Zimmern featuring Buffets Candies' piñon nut roll I had to get as my mom loves pine nuts and the thought of caramel makes it even better! Handmade candies of brown sugar center, wrapped in caramel and pressed with pine nuts (no preservatives) is all one needs to be a happy camper...and of course I don't think of the calories, but the protein content! Yeah they're good for you! So if you know someone traveling to Albuquerque have them bring you a box of these decadent treats...shipping avgs about $12 if you order online and it's delivered fast! Definitely have to try!

Buffet's Candies is one of my favorites and has a lot to choose from. Their chocolate has an amazing taste, and the staff is always friendly. They always give you a sample to try while you are in the store. My favorite is the peanut butter meltaway which is creamier than anything I have tasted anywhere. Highly recommend driving to Buffets and treating yourself to some amazing chocolate! They won't disappoint!

How has no one mentioned this place to me in my 2+ years in the Burque?!?!? People, if you need a sweet treat, you MUST, I repeat, MUST shop local and go here! Wonderful selection, great service, beautiful choices, and high quality! Highly recommended candy shop!

It's OK, I went for the pinon rolls and they were nothing special. I think there's some over-the-counter chocolates that are even better.

Great chocolates. Local Albuquerque business and a favorite of mine. Good variety of other candies too and the pinion candy is the best.

The charming farmhouse exterior gives way to a cozy country store atmosphere inside, making the entire place feel warm and inviting. One of my favorite parts was the wide-open kitchen, where you can watch the staff hard at work. Even without booking an official tour, it feels like you're getting a behind-the-scenes look at the chocolate-making process. The experience is made even better by the incredible front counter staff. They were patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely excited to share what they do. We were offered samples, walked through much of the process, and never felt rushed. I'm not going to list everything we ordered. There were simply too many delicious items to mention. But I can confidently say this was some of the best chocolate I've ever had. Every bite tasted exceptionally fresh, clean, and thoughtfully crafted. The flavors were rich without being overwhelming, and somehow every piece left me wanting just one more. It might be a blessing that they aren't more conveniently located... but honestly, I can't think of any downside to eating their chocolate more often. So, Eldora, if you're listening: please, please, please open a location on Albuquerque's East Side, or at the very least, start delivering. You'd have a customer for life.

The name certainly intrigued me, but their slogan did too: no fluff . no flair . the best cacao . I was in! While I didn't experience any "fluff," I thought that their chocolates actually did have some flair. They do have items for those bougie friends. Lol. I ordered a sample 6-pack truffle box ($19) that my daughters and I split together: Bee Pollen, Lavender Vanilla, Flowers of Italy, Green Chile & Salt, Pistachio in White, and Peppermint. I really should have gotten a bigger box after seeing how excited my girls were about this. Next time... I also enjoyed a discounted (due to it being broken) green chile and salt chocolate bar. They outsource other niceties: air fresheners, candles, and gelato. I wish I had stomach space for the gelato, but next time! Very nice, helpful service on the 26th. Overall, it is chocolate done maybe a bit simple yet exceedingly well.

I quickly did some search arond the neighborhood and decided to stop by this cafe, because I had it on bookmark for quite a while. Plus, getting nice, proper treat sounded like a wonderful idea to me! From the moment of me walking in, the staff were very friendly, helpful and just welcoming. You can grab some items to go (and some souvenir items), or, if you make a reservation ahead of time (especially if you come with a large party), it's best to make a reservation. For me, I was so grateful that they even let me do the high tea, even with me just stopping by last minute! I loved that there were so many types/flavor profile of tea to choose from. Teh high tea also came with different snack items (from crostini and pie to sorbet and sandwichs) to go along with tea as well. I had a seasonal pumpkin pie tea and a peach & ginger decaf tea and it was perfect! A plus is that the price of the tea party is very reasonable. I want to say it is just about half as costly as other tea spots you might have heard of in town! I loved the calmness that I got from the venue..and great tasting food and drink that didn't make me feel so sluggish after eating and drinking all of them! I would love to stop by here again when I'm in the area or take my friend to check out this place!

The scones are not traditional English or American scones but rather a soft almost muffin like biscuit. They were yummy but not what I would have expected. The courses come paired with a tea. All their teas were good and paired well with the food. They even allowed us to take it home in to go cups because we got too full to finish the tea our food in the last course!
