I have a gluten allergy and this place is so amazing with accommodating it. They have gluten free soy sauce for a lot of the recipes that require it. I'll be honest I get the pad Thai every single time I've gone but I have taken several people and they have tried various things on the menu and have had nothing but praise for the meals they ordered. I've also indulged in their macaron sandwiches that they have which, while pricy, are so worth it! The strawberry cheesecake is gluten free and so delicious. Definitely give it a try if you visit.

I'm pretty picky about restaurant food and customer service, but I believe a lot of commenters here are giving an undeserved and/or uninformed raw deal to Buffet King with their criticism. Of course, I'm not talking about subjective impressions of food taste, where the saying "One doesn't discuss personal tastes" fully applies but about some other complaints. 1. As for food freshness, whenever I go there (and I go often), I always have to "fight" the kitchen personnel in the aisles bringing out the freshly cooked dishes. I've never tasted anything there that was stale. Of course, sitting above a food warmer might change the taste slightly, but that's the nature of the buffet beast. 2. I agree that the customer service is not the greatest. However, you have to realize that you're dealing with mostly first generation Asians, whose notions of friendliness and running a business are very different from those in Texas and America. Give them some slack. If their lack of customer service start affecting their business, they'll learn fast. 3. Someone suggested that we go to other Chinese buffets in Denton because Buffet King is so terrible. The only other two I'm aware of are New China King Buffet and Chinatown Cafe. Are you really serious about NCKB being better than BK? That place has been struggling for years, and their food, while tolerable, is nowhere near BK (or CC), which is almost always full. CC is OK, but it's no great shakes - just another reasonably priced Chinese place. read more

I have been to all the Chinese place in Denton. And this one takes the cake just like the one on university by Kroger. These two places are the fucking worst out off all. Fucking nasty ass food. Some of it looks like someone ate the food shit it out and put it back in the pan. Sushi eww ew ew ew fuckin ew. Desert my kids didn't even like. And that says a lot. What kid won't eat sweets.
