We went into this meal having very high expectations after hearing a ton about it from friends in Bloomington leading up to this big opening of the first location in central Indiana. We went early since we had a baby with us, so we had no problem being seated right away. They had high chairs available and the sports / IU decor was cool to look at on the walls. The wait staff was quick and responsive and the food came out SO fast we were shocked. Overall, the wings were pretty good. We got a couple of different types and went boneless (which I know could be controversial to some). The taste was decent but they definitely weren't the best tasting or seasoned wings I've ever had. I thought the cost was a little steep for what we ordered, as well, but everything these days is more expensive so it makes sense. The fries were very good. I will definitely be back to try again and may switch up the sauces a bit, but just knowing a little bit more to expect this time! read more

This is the first negative review I've ever given but after trying the wings three times now I have to say they are some of the worst most expensive I've had. They are extremely small and were over fried every time. Using the slogan world's best wings does not even come close to describing them. Buffa Louies is an IU spot that has now moved into Carmel right on Main Street. The location is amazing! I wanted to come here as it had been at least a decade for me prior to this in Bloomington. I did NOT remember the wings being so pricey. Honestly, for the size of the wings to cost ratio, this felt like I was being robbed. Are the wings good? sure, they are good. Are they worth this money? no way in hell. I have a few favorites around town that are far better and cheaper than this. It was a beautiful fall day and we're looking for a sunny patio and this new spot in Carmel delivered! Hubs had wings with Buffalo sauce and thought they were just average. I ordered boneless wings and they were out of them so just had curly fries which were nothing special. One plus was they have Sauvignon blanc as a house wine for a decent price and pour. Nice selection of draft beers. Service was fine and we had no wait...IU game was over. We were sat at a dirty table and waited for over 15 minutes before we were even visited by our waitress and it wasn't even that busy. The drinks and food came out quick. That's about where the positives end and the meh really begins. The burger was soaking in grease in the tray, the fries were fine but absolutely no color, their signature sauce is weird at best. For wings, the choices were boneless/ traditional with sauce of choice- went with buffalo although I asked for a sample of two other sauces which the server gladly got! Everything was just ok, not quite to the same standard of quality as we normally get. But the oddest thing we encountered. Son ordered an All American, it came out as a single. Odd but we did not have time to send it back, decided not to even complain. When the check came, there was $1.00 deducted for a single patty. That math seems a bit off regardless.
