It's shocking that someone with such poor customer service and leadership skills is managing a business built on client relationships. Corporate should take a serious look at what's happening here because this center is driving away long-term, loyal customers. Therefore, I researched the waxers on staff and saw that Alicia had gotten outstanding reviews, and specifically concerning my needs, and I have been going to her ever since. Alicia does so well, I recommended my best friend to go to her, since his girlfriend likes his face completely smooth, but, his beard grows in like mine, and her tips from each of us far exceed the paltry percentage she gets per customer from EWC. European Wax offers year long passes, where customers can go as often as necessary, and I since I need to go every two weeks to minimize the how much hair is being pulled at one time, I started getting those, since it would save a lot of money. I have five months left before the current year is up. My best friend also bought a year pass, after experiencing Alicia's skills and the lasting results. In the time I have been going to this location, the store has gone through SEVEN managers, with the latest one being Courtney, who has been there a month and a half. And now, Alicia is fired. Funny how the SIX managers BEFORE Courtney, did not fire Alicia, so, it should not take a rocket scientist to figure out who is the problem. Since my waxer is gone, one I trusted and counted on to do the job right (and we always have a great rapport), and I hold those in charge of the store, above the manager level, responsible, I will NOT be coming back to European Wax Centers, ever, for my business. I also want the balance of my pass fees refunded. When I talked to Courtney, she said she could only give me store credit. When I asked to for the corporate number, she said that the location was a franchise, so there is no corporate tie. After some digging, I called Courtney back and asked to speak to her bosses, Lauren and Jacqueline. She said she would pass the message. After not hearing back from either of them, I went into the store and asked her in person for their numbers. She said she could not give out the numbers, but, had left a message with them about my, "concerns". Later, she called me back and claimed that I had gone enough times that there would not be any prorate left on the balance. I do not appreciate European Wax Center for bouncing Courtney from the San Tan Village location to the Tempe Market Place location, because she could not work and play well with others, there (funny thing about the internet, things of record NEVER go away), and I do not appreciate Courtney for firing Alicia when six other managers prior had the management skills to not fire her, nor do I appreciate her gatekeeping the contact information for her bosses. But, that's ok, I will find it and let them know what I think.

I wish I could rate David a 5 star since he always did a great job with my pedicure. He always asked what I wanted, if I like what he was doing so far, and if I was comfortable. The owner is always very nice, she always had great customer service. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for my manicures. I won't be coming to this spa anymore and it sucks because I have been coming for almost 3 years now. I spent $50 on my nails and did not tip. My nails did not come out close to what I wanted. I even showed pictures of what I wanted. The nail tech (CJ) said he had another client at 10 am when my appointment was at 9 am. He basically rushed through the process then rushed me out of my chair. His next client was already sitting in the chair when I came back from washing my hands. I never been rushed out like that before at any spa and was sad when I looked at my nails when I got home because it didn't look anything like I asked, on top of that spent $50 for them!! I felt like I was less of a customer than his other clients. Like I was less important. Before that, the nail tech tried telling me that I do not want to take off my current acrylic and should just fill them in since he had another client after me. I said no, I want something else. I came back 2 days later for my pedicure. The girl at the front desk had EXACTLY what I wanted. She said they used gel and airbrush on her nails and it looked just like photo I showed! I hate to stop coming here but I will no longer do business with them anymore. read more

I had made an appointment for 1:30 on Saturday for my boyfriend and I to get pedicures. We arrived 2 minutes early. We walk in and the chemical smell was overwhelming! They definitely aren't ventilated properly. That's not the worst part. We weren't even greeted. I walked up to the host stand, she had her back to us and she was talking to who I think was the owner working on someone's nails. She finally barely turned around and said "Go wash your hands!" I said, "Why? We are getting pedicures." She said, "So you can go pick out your color". I thought that was ridiculous. You can't spread Covid to a nail polish bottle. There was no place to sit and wait so we stood in the corner, then stood outside to get a little fresh air, and when 2 seats in the waiting area opened up we were told to sit down like we were bad children in trouble ( We're in our late 30's)! After sitting for 5 minutes and 20 minutes into what should have been our service, we just looked at each other and knew we were over it! We did not stay to get out pedicures. These people are rude and you should not spend any money here. Bring a gas mask! read more

Critical: Professionalism I went to get my nails done and this vulgar nail Tech who sits in the back on the left side, he wears a black baseball hat and black vans was cussing talking about MOLLY and other drugs. He made my visit very uncomfortable. I wonder if he kisses his mother with that mouth. Not only is he disrespecting himself but the establishment he works for. At one point the music went off and he put on the most profane music on his phone. Ironically he was talking about how this one customer wrote a bad review on how vulgar the music was. His response to that was "if you don't like it get the F***out "while explaining the situation to his customer! When the music was off he said it reminded him of church and thats when he put that disgusting music on his phone. Thank God the store music came back on right away... He Said "now they ( the salon) can only listen to pop", as if that was a disappointment. This guy needs Jesus! He has too much hate in his heart. Buff n file needs to hire more professional people. I've been getting acrylics for 7 years now and CJ is hands down the best nail tech I've ever had. Nobody else even comes close. I am very picky with my acrylics and he does an amazing job every single time. Perfect shape, color & design no matter what I ask for. He is phenomenal with designs and can do literally anything you ask. I can be very indecisive and I'll let CJ pick what to do and he never fails to get it perfect every time. Not only is CJ amazing at his job but he's also the sweetest, most wonderful person. I look forward to going and getting my nails done. The pricing is very reasonable especially for the quality. I constantly get compliments and I will never let anyone else do my nails ever again. I have been going to CJ at Buff N File now for almost two years and that right there is a testament to how amazing he and everyone at this nail salon is. I was a serial nail salon jumper and always tried new technicians because I was never satisfied enough to keep going back to one location. After a friend introduced me to Buff N File and I had CJ do my nails, I never had to look anyplace else ever again. Not only is he personable, but he is talented beyond belief and can make your nail vision come to life. Whether you have I inspiration you want him to copy, or you do what I do and let him surprise you each time, he will not disappoint. I Was looking for a good nail salon in my area and I came across Buff N File Nail Spa. I read multiple reviews before scheduling an appointment. I decided to book my appointment with CJ because most of the reviews said he was really good. CJ is great! He did an amazing job for both my sister and I. Let me start by saying I lived in Arizona for two years and went to this nail salon every two weeks for the entire time I lived there - not only for their outstanding customer service but specifically for CJ. He is incredibly talented, an artist if you will and the sweetest most personable person I know. I get my nails done about every 2-3 weeks, I'm not from around here so I've been going from salon to salon trying to find the one that fits ME. This was my first time at buff n file, my friend Liz and I went to get our toes and nails done and after my experience, I don't think I can go anywhere else. Moving here from Florida back in March was hard enough to find a nail tech; Then add covid to the scenario and it was pretty impossible! CJ has been the best I have found here! It's hard when you've had the same nail techs for 10 years. I'll be the first to admit I'm picky about my shape and designs. CJ is always up for a challenge! I just left this place, I had an awful experience. My pedicure was not pleasant whatsoever. He barely scrubbed my feet and when I asked for an extra coat of polish (because I could see the lines of unevenness) he looked at me disgusted and rolled his eyes. The person to do my full set had his phone ringing off the hook the whole time and seemed to be super annoyed the whole time. My mother and I have been coming to this place consistently for a little over 2 years now and We absolutely love them. The staff is friendly and welcoming, most of the technicians do great jobs and we've never had any problems. We love CJ and Leann (I believe this is her name) for nails and my mom loves Stevens foot massages. I have never been to a better salon! The staff is sooo friendly & welcoming (which seems hard to find now a days) then there's how absolutely gorgeous it is inside! I am aways pleased with my experience at Buff n File, especially with my main nail tech. I am very picky and David has never failed me in whatever color, style, and shape I want for my SNS. I have been going to him for almost two years now every 3-4 weeks religiously. I have also referred him to many of my friends that have also become regulars. I have gone here a couple times because I have worked with CJ for nearly 2 years and this is the last salon he has stayed with. And I understand why! It's so relaxing clean and nice welcoming environment with tons of space! I live in Ahwatukee Foothills and I will make the drive for great quality and time here! I always see David when I get my nails done (pedicures and manicures). He is the best! I get a dip manicure about every three weeks with him, and I have never been disappointed! He always asks if there is anything that I would like him to fix before he is done (even though they are always perfect), and if one breaks because I am clumsy at work, he always fixes them! When I started getting my nails done by David, they were in poor condition due to me doing them but David has done such an amazing job to revive my nails and make them stronger than ever and very pretty as well. Then they said, "oh you pay for both and come back tomorrow for gel manicure." I was a regular at this Nail Salon so I agreed. I went back and they were all just sitting around. The manager did my nails and they looked like crap. She didn't paint all the way down and then blamed it on my nail growth. Really?? I've included pictures of the chipped nail on a 6 day old gel manicure and the pedicure done the day before. It makes ZERO sense that she would tell me it was my nail growth when it was her poor work and I was upset about her bad work since the day she did it. They have lost a regular, every 2 weeks, customer because of how the female manager handled the situation. She should have fixed her poor work and done a good job like I paid for.

The response was we try our best. My response is don't over book yourself and be clear on what you can handle. Its like they are afraid of loosing business. If you do good nail work people will come back. But what pisses people off is waiting when you have an appointment.

It led me to Golden Nails Spa & I had an excellent experience here. You know what I really appreciated? The hospitality. Everyone smiled & was welcoming, from the one gentleman up front to the woman who gave me the pedicure & then the lady who answered the phone. This seems like something super simple, but I've been to nail salons where they are just not NICE. They are there to do the job but do not incorporate kindness & customer service...at a service-oriented business. Many nail techs seem like they REALLY dislike their jobs. And if you question how they're doing something to your hands or feet, or even ask?! They often act insulted. It's a fine line to tread. When it shouldn't be. I chose the VIP pedicure - see the menu! Treatment on my legs: * sugar scrub * hot stone massage * peppermint mask + hot towels * there was no paraffin wax for my feet but these other treatments made up for that Then "regular" stuff for feet: * soaking * cheese grating! * nail trimming & shaping - I asked for filing instead of cutting Thank you to Golden Nails Spa & "Ann" for a relaxing pedicure.
