Grand Opening of the new Mountain Brook location!
    Jody T.

Super friendly and informative staff! Father/daughter team are heading up this shop. Lots of friendly teens making soap in-store near the back. During the grand opening (Dec 18th & 19th), they have a great 20% off sale and deals on several irems. I encourage you to stop by this store and gice them your business. Tons of gift boxes and stocking stuff items!! Next time I stop by, I plan to try the scented dryer balls!

Awesome deals, awesome employees. The smells are very fresh and clean, which is obviously a big selling point when I'm shopping for soap.

First, with a friendly "Welcome to Walgreens" from Blake, at the register. Secondly, by his cologne that was overpowering the entire front of the store. I love perfume and cologne myself, so I'm not hating on him by any means. But as someone who has a father and stepmother who suffered with COPD for years, I am concerned for the folks with breathing difficulties that may be faced with that very strong scent. Any scent is difficult for them, as they're already struggling to breathe. Lots of employees were stocking the shelves during my visit. Compared to what I've experienced at another local Walgreens, these employees are on top of their work. I found a few things on sale that I hadn't planned on getting. Some of their Halloween and Autumn stuff is super cute, but overpriced in my opinion.

Someone mentioned they are dysfunctional on another review and I would say that is the best way to describe them and then when you point this out and there is no resolution to the problem, they do not care, not try to figure out what went wrong. They are flippant and curt. Occasionally I have run into one or 2 who actually try to help you, but I think they probably were students. My complaint also includes the pharmacists, not just techs. The store is fine, nice and friendly.

Having been on the receiving end of ear, nose and throat issues throughout my life, I've seen my…read morefair share of doctors. I've yet to find better than Dr. Poynor. He diagnosed my weird allergies and gave me allergy shots to alleviate them through college. Then, when I had chronic tonsillitis sophomore year of college, he performed the surgery to remove my tonsils and adenoids. (Note to self- get tonsils out as a small child, this is NOT easy to recover from as an adult!) Every time I go to see Dr. Poynor, I'm met with equal parts dry humor, adept intelligence, and art knowledge. Yes, I did say ART in relation to an ENT specialist. You see, part of the allure of Dr. Poynor is his love of the arts- he is an avid collector and an advocate for the Birmingham Museum of Art. So, when I'm feeling gross and sick, I know he'll make me smile and provide some fantastic tidbit about where to go the next time I'm in London or what exhibit has just been added to the Birmingham collection. Dr. Poynor is probably best known for his solution to infections in his patients: yes, you walk out the door with an antibiotic Rx, but the secret is the two shots you get before you leave. An injection of antibiotics gets to work immediately, and a small amount of a steroid helps the body move past illness quickly. Not the most pleasant thing, being jabbed, but I always know that I'll get better faster. Even when I've lived out of town, or out of the country, Dr. Poynor has always been on my speed dial in case of ear, nose, or throat related illness/issues because he does an amazing job and always makes me feel better. (The lollipops on the way out don't hurt either)... Five stars for Dr. Poynor!
