Ok, here's the thing. There are two main places I go to get supplies in order to make myself look like a girl: Sally's and Ulta. I go to Ulta when I need everyday beauty products, I go to Sally's when I need something specific for my hair or nails.
Yesterday, I stopped by because I was having a 'party' and I needed some nail supplies. I somehow had convinced two of my boyfriend's friends to let me and another girl paint their nails. I wanted to throw something a little special and I knew I could find decorations here. I found glitter nail polish and little jewels and stickers. I've never had so much fun painting nails in my life.
Back to reality, one of the best things about this place is they have really awesome shampoo. Particularly a Moroccan brand that smells fab and really moisturizes and does wonders for frizzy hair. You can also get DIY hair colors and proteins and whatnot. The other good thing about this place is they have a large section of polish to repair nails and prevent breakage and splitting, and to promote growth. The polish is expensive, but worth it.
What I don't like about this place: You have to use credit card. I don't like using credit. I like to be able to use my pin number. And sometimes when I am in a hurry I just run in and only take my card and not anything else forgetting I will have to show ID. My license is expired, and I had taken it out of my wallet and put it on the counter so I would remember to renew it, but of course I forgot. So I go to pay and I had grabbed some cash but I ended up buying a few extra things and didn't have enough so I used my card. She asked for ID, which I said I didn't have it with me. They ended up letting me use my card.. but here is a word of advice Sally - Don't look at your customers like they are credit card thieves. Especially when I see the look on your face and try to make small talk to bring down the awkwardness only to be faced with more strange looks. And this is 2011. Install a freaking debit card machine so we can enter our pin numbers. read more
