Bud's warehouse is probably the first stop you want to go to when doing a DIY project, as it will save you lots of money. Not only that but the staff there are super helpful and have a wealth of knowledge on DIY projects. They were very friendly and immediately asked if I needed any help and let me know what to do with my projects. They didn't have specifically what I was looking for but the employees mentioned checking their website since the nicer stuff are put up there first, and they receive supplies readily so the inventory can change quickly. Selection apparently changes often, so you may need to plan to take some extra time if you're looking for something specific. The men that worked in the store were all very helpful and polite. Bud's has been wonderful as we've lived in and renovated several homes. Staff has always been helpful and prices are outstanding. What an AWFUL place! STAY FAR AWAY! I was treated HORRIBLY by the employees, their idiotic NO EXCEPTIONS return policy is just an excuse for the workers to treat customers like garbage, as I was! They take NO responsibility for poor signage and confusing prices, and then leave you STUCK with something you can't use, even if it turns out to be defective! And the owner is an incredible PHONY - I wrote directly to him at several addresses giving him a chance to respond - after seeing his response to another complaint of this business, where he said he wished he'd had a chance to make it right (what a JOKE!)- and of course, he never did respond to me! They advertise themselves as a 'Christian' business - which for them, means treating customers like crap! read more

Bud's Warehouse is a treasure trove. I design and remodel houses and, over the years, I have spent thousands of dollars at Bud's Warehouse. In return, Bud's has saved me thousands of dollars. They consistently have incredible deals online and in the store. Many of the items are brand new and still in the box. I am always checking the website for treasures. The best deals disappear fast, so it's always best to check back often. Nic is the manager of online sales and he is largely the reason that I shop at Bud's. He is prompt in answering questions about online items and has consistently worked with me to make sure the items I purchased are the correct items for what I need. I have, more than once, rented a moving truck to pick up all of the items that I've purchased. I'm hoping Nic will be allowed the leeway to grow the online sales department to the point of offering more items, and offer shipping because I am always waiting for more items to be listed so I can buy them. I hope Bud's has the wisdom and foresight to give Nic a pay raise that includes a percentage of his sales. Bud's has, hands down, the best employees of any business I have ever done business with. They have gone above and beyond every time I have interacted with them. They take great care in loading the items that have been purchased (sometimes this means entire moving trucks full of items) and they are always willing to help -- sometimes to ridiculous degrees like helping cut boards outside of the store in the rain or allowing me to borrow their saw batteries when mine were dead. P.S. The items purchased online are returnable before they leave the store -- meaning that if the items are not correct for you when you go to pick them up, you can return them at that time. I used to love shopping here but since they moved, too far to go just look. I called and asked someone to see if they had an exterior door and the guy said to come look. No, why can't you go look real fast and ldt me know if i should drive there to buy a door or look elsewhere. Sad to say but no more buds for me. I follow Bud's on Instagram and Facebook. I also get emails with updates. I drive over an hour and I wasn't impressed. Some of the items like the appliances were in horrible shape. The cabinets and doors also not in the best shape. I guess it's good for someone whose really handy but the prices weren't as low as I thought they'd be. Everyone greeted us and was friendly. I don't blame you if you also get slightly nervous driving into the parking lot of Bud's. On one side of the parking lot you have a halfway home and on the other half you have Bud's. Bud's is not for those who are clean freaks or softies for creepy people starring at you out of their caged up windows.... Bud's is a second-hand "home supply" store that uses its profits to help those in need get back on their feet. Literally, they help you load your stuff in your truck. Need a new interior or exterior door? How about a recently ripped out sink with matching bathroom cabinets? Need a mirror or a sliding bathroom glass door? How about a fridge, microwave, stove or un-matching tile? Bud's is your man. Here is the thing, most of the goods that you will see and touch in Bud's is used, and people just bring it in there after deconstructing their house. This is one of those types of places that you can land on a great deal... For example, I attach a picture of my stove. Pretty awesome stove for only $200... Especially when the price retails at $1,000. Here is the strategy with Buds. Bud's has goods and Bud's has burns, the one thing you gotta do here is become a Bud-o-holic. This means you must start coming to Bud's enough that they start to know you and recognize you. Then, you can finagle the prices down and they throw in stuff faster. Or there is the strategy of bribery. My boyfriend's old roommate is a major baker. Two summers ago she made homemade strawberry ice cream and chocolate cookies, smooshed them together and got a bribery ice cream sandwich. She wrapped them up in tin foil, wrote "Love Asia" on the wrapper as a marketing tool and brought the sandwiches over when she came one "random" day to look for some "flip It" materials for her new fixer upper. Let's just say that Asia always comes back with the best deals at the lowest prices. Or you can do just what my boyfriend does.... He just tells the cashier a different price then what he bargained with the salesman. Hope he doesn't read this posting. * Star one is for the green scene: Second hand items that are still in awesome shape or are supposed to look used and dirty and that looks cool ** Mista star numba two is for the somewhat sketchy location.... Helps you remember that Denver can still be a little edgy when you venture out of the Cherry Creek/Uptown areas *** Our friendly star three is for the Flip It resource: buy it, Flip it, Sell it **** On to star four because this store benefits the community, by helping the community get back on its feet ***** Our last and final star is presented to Bud's because it helps friendly and scared items not get put into a cold and lonely landfill. I like the idea of Bud's, but it hasn't really worked for us as far as finding something we actually need or can use. If you are doing a total remodel and need second hand cabinets, basic tiles, doors, or builder's grade used stuff, you will find it here. We tend to be upgrading, so we never really find stuff that is better than we have. It is pretty dark in there and stuffed with items so it will take patience and the willingness to dig. Think thrift shop for your remodel. They are pretty good about putting the cool new stuff they sometimes get on their facebook page, so it is worth a follow. Like I said, it wasn't for us, but it is good spot for deals. read more

I like the concept of Bud's, although I've never found what I'm looking for here. They have tons of stuff for various builder's projects if you need it. Cabinets, doors, etc. We were looking for bathroom lighting fixtures and couldn't really find anything. Pretty much everything they had was the same builder's grade we were trying to get rid of. But I could definitely see coming here if you were doing some major upgrades and wanted something you could put in with little work. read more

Stopped by today to scope out some cabinets, and while I didn't find what I needed, they did have cabinet fronts, meaning I can update my whole kitchen for 100 bucks. Also had nice cheap quartz countertops, but they weren't quite right. Luck of the draw! I'll definitely be back to see what they have. I have been shopping here for years. You can always tell the first time shoppers in the winter because they forget to bring their coats. Even on a sunny day in the winter, it is COLD inside. And, bring your tape measure. Yes, it is junky and yes, you can go and come back empty handed. But, it supports a good cause and the people are great. Here is what I have picked up: a new Thermador Warming drawer or $100, a Thermador Wok $2400 retail and I paid $200, a Barbara Barry marble topped vanity for Kalista ( the cabinet lists for $4000 and the marble top for $1400 ) and I bought it new ( with a few scratches, because it was moved from a showroom), it came with a stunning faucet...and I paid $250. I paid $45 for a new 600 CFM blower, a great stainless steel sink and faucet for $20, a Corian 94 inch double vanity for $60, countless cupboard doors, Blum hinges, my base cabinets in my kitchen are from Buds. You need to stop when you are in the area and don't pass judgement until you have been there a dozen times. It looks like a junk heap and you shake your head and ask yourself, Why am I here? And then you see it...like I did---a Vent-a-hood, still in its box for $40. And, suddenly the effort seems worth it. I love Extra's for trim and Bud's for everything else. Habitat's selection has gotten so junky since they moved and they are a victim of their own success..I make the rounds everywhere in town ( Lumber Guy, Go Green, Habitat, Builder's Outlet on Brighton Blvd at 30th for trim and doors) when I am on the search for something for a rental) and Bud's wins hands down. read more

The place was smaller then i thought. The mess and how dirty it was didn't scare me, but the prices did~! Old used doors cost there twice then the new ones at EXTRA Building Materials next door! You can't find 2 tiles that match, and i didn't see any stoves at the price mentioned in previous review, maybe because things changed since 2007? I can't believe that most of the prices for used and half broken items there is higher then the new stuff elsewhere!!! read more

Renovating a bungalow from the '20s. This place is a dream! Plus helping out those who really need it feels good too!

We tried to donate some patio doors and windows that were removed during a remodel. Good condition, aluminum clad units that undoubtedly cost thousands each when new - think Pella. We called Bud's and gave them the exact measurements and other details and we were told that they definitely wanted them. So instead of just throwing them into the dumpster we scheduled a pick up. It made our house look like a construction site but green is definitely good! We waited around on the scheduled day and then at the end of the morning pickup time window we got a call asking if they could come late in the afternoon but you guessed it, another last minute phone call and we were rescheduled for the next morning. The truck arrived late but it actually did arrive but after seeing our donation, the driver told us that the windows were too big and Bud's only wanted cheap vinyl patio doors. It didn't matter that we had fully disclosed the size, type and brand of our donation and been assured that Bud's definitely wanted them. So we wasted a bunch of time and we missed the chance to have our carpenter dispose of them for us. We will now have to rent a dumpster and hire someone to move our wall flower castoffs into the dumpster. I guess this just proves the old saying that "no good deed shall go unpunished" but more importantly we (and our friends and acquaintances) won't be donating to Bud's. Or to rephrase another old adage, "Donator beware"! read more

Sure, there is some reasonably priced used material here if you're willing to go thru a lot of hassle. BUT: surly, disrespectful staff, dirty disorganized environment, very awkward to get to. Compared to previous Brighton Blvd location this is one very user-unfriendly place. One-way street in front and NO sign saying where to donate stuff -- so if you miss 1st narrow congested driveway, you may have to go around a very long several blocks to get back! You'd think someone would care enough to put up a sign! No, the staff here just doesn't seem to give a damn. read more

Overflow from salvage and new construction is donated, thus the ebb and flow of which materials they are long/short on. Cash talks for bargaining. Cabinet doors, windows, doors are everywhere and the lighting can be really bad inside. TIPS: measure for what you need before you go, bring a tape measure, flash light and cash, be prepared to move stuff to get to what you need- a strong friend is a great friend to have when going. Flooring materials come and go in quantities, so work a few months out from your project if you can to get unbeatable pricing when you do find the perfect score. Check out their outside materials for surprise finds- windows, marble and granite slabs, misc materials. GETTING THERE: Bud's is located on a frontage road that won't get you all the way to the entrance along 46th. Take the 48th to Dahlia, right on Dahlia, right into Bud's parking. read more

I previously entered a bad review but since learned than Bud's has since ceased making custom cabinets. The cabinets were late but were of high quality and I'm happy. The inventory is constantly changing and varies from brand new job remnants to resusable demoed materials. Prices vary from "fair" to "bargain" as they are more interested in turning inventory than price-gouging. Bill is a manager and will make a deal if it means making the sale. The folks are friendly and helpful. It is a work-release employment venue which adds some social value to your purchase. I would put Bud's just over Habitat's store in overall value and selection (EXTRA Building Materials can't even compete). As with any thrifting venture, patience and a little luck can yield diamonds in the rough. Suitable for small residential contractors. Great for the DIYer willing to roll up her sleeves and be creative. If this place bothers you, you probably shouldn't be doing the project yourself. read more

BUDS is definitely a "Do-It-Yourself" (ers) paradise! With everything from bathroom vanities, and sinks, to full sets of Kitchen cabinets, and everything in between... You can find some really great treasures at BUDS, however, you do have to come in and be willing to dig and hunt for what you want! It's a true thrift store experience! When you are doing projects and decide to go to BUDS, I recommend that you have all the measurements for your doors, flooring, windows, vanities...etc, because you never know what will show up while you're there looking around! It's a great place to get some new, or gently used materials for a really great price! Who know.. You just might find you're very own buried treasure there! read more

This is not a clean, organized place. They do their best, but bear in mind that they get truckloads of "discards" in daily. Pretty hard to keep organized especially when at any given time there are customers to tend to and believe me they put the customers first. The reason I'm given them 5 stars is because these people are truly helpful and everyone has always been super friendly. You can tell they are trying to better their lives, so I feel good about buying stuff there. I personally have found screamin' deals! I got a brand new $5,000 jacuzzi tub with heater and pump all intact and even the manual still taped to it for $35!! I spent $140 to refurb the fiberglass. I've gotten many other deals and the more you buy the better deal you'll get. Like any other "discard" place you need to be in regularly to land the good stuff as it arrives. read more
