I hired Budget floors and got a budget job.
The owner and his son came to do the job. They dropped off the materials and then the owners mother had passed away. I was understanding and said we could postpone the start date, but they declined. I was told the job would take four days and it ended up taking two weeks. My house was a complete dusty mess for 10 days longer than anticipated. There was no effort to clean up the mess either. One of the days they were working at my house, they left my house running which flooded my garage, ruined some of the planks in the garage, and went onto my neighbors side. When the stairs were being done, my dad would come by and check things out. The floor people told my dad that the stairs had been built into the walls. Little did I know they were going to cut the stairs, lay the flooring and leave a drywall mess for me to figure out how to fix. No one called me to tell me anything. When I mentioned this, the owner said he told my dad. I advised him that it wasn't my dads house, nor were he paying them. There are gaps between the floor and the baseboards and appears to be detached from the wall in some places.
Shortly after install, I began noticing bubbles in my floor. When the owners son came to pick up the final payment I mentioned this and he blamed it on the floor of the house. Do I look stupid or something? I watched my house being built and I saw my floor when they ripped out the laminate....it is flat!!! Aside from that, the stuff that goes under my new flooring seemed to be bunching up (it was on a roll) when they were laying the flooring down. I didn't say anything because I figured the professionals would take care of it...not the case. There are parts of my tiling that are raised as in poking up...same for my backsplash. Pictures to come...
Overall, I wished I would have paid the extra two thousand dollars to go with a company who keeps their word, communicates with the customer and takes responsibility for the work that they do. read more
