This is my second experience with Buddy and Sons Electric. This time the project was installing a 240 volt power line from my power panel to my pool pump. I couldn't be happier with the result. Based on my previous experience with Buddy&Sons I called B&S and Brandy scheduled Trevor come over and provide an estimate for the job. In the process of estimating, Trevor suggested a route for the conduit that was much better than I had in mind. I approved the estimate and Brandy scheduled Patrick and Zak to come out the following Monday. The guys took care of everything, even knocking down a wasp's next that Patrick discovered. I've used Buddy Heilig & Sons three times in three years. They always deliver. Their techs are friendly and do quality work. My only qualms are it can be difficult to get ahold of them at times. Ive emailed to follow up with estimates and not received replies. I've found phone calls are best but even then you go to voicemail during normal business hours and don't get a call back the next day. I'd also warn new customers that their rates are on the high side. They definitely deliver but it makes you think twice about the work you're asking for so maybe that's the silver lining. read more

Our home has a ceiling fan in every room and even three outside, well except our living room with a 12ft ceiling. I purchased & assembled a nice 80" fan with a 24" down rod and started searching for a good electrician to install it and a wall switch. My first contact with Buddy Heilig & Sons was with Brandy on a Tuesday and she responded very quickly offering a quote based on time & materials or have their estimator come out and provide a quote, which I chose the latter. Trevor came out when promised and was very nice and very professional. He had the quote back to me the same day which I accepted. Brandy scheduled the work for the morning of the very next Tuesday which was great and we were scheduled. Mind you, we were having guests arrive on Friday and I contacted Brandy with a long shot request asking if there was any chance of getting the install before our guests arrived. Brandy was very kind and said she couldn't promise but would certainly try. Well, Thursday morning arrived and she said she could have their electrician here first thing Friday morning. We were so delighted and thankful for Brandy doing this for us. We received a text Friday morning saying Rudy was on his way. Rudy got here and we very quickly realized that he was a joy to have in our home. Rudy was very professional and is an outstanding and very talented electrician. The install could not have been better. Rudy covered our furniture and when he was all done made sure our home where he worked was spotless. In the future as I need an electrician I will go nowhere but Buddy & Sons as this experience clearly shows the high caliber, customer focus that they are! We are upgrading to an all-electric hybrid water heater and needed a 30A 220V line installed. Trevor came out to do an estimate - we agreed that an already installed line might be available to extend and agreed on a bid price. Unfortunately the line we thought was in place was not available, but Rudy crawled up in the attic and nosed around and found a line that could be used. While the install was obviously going to be a bit more, the result was cleaner. Rudy took the time to throughly explain his approach and what would be different from the original bid. He was cheerful and knowledgeable and also took the time to help troubleshoot some dodgy radio controlled ceiling fans that didn't come on after the power was restored. We had an electrical surge that blew out one of our critical surge protectors. It took down our entertainment system, and our house security system. We called this company as a new customer and they were very responsive. They sent out their guy, Tony, who arrived right on time. Tony checked all the systems and found the faulty surge protectors. We had a spare and replaced the faulty ine. We had a second job for Tony, which was putting in a recessed receptacle behind a picture so that we could plug in a picture light. We also wanted it to have an on-off switch on the wall. Tony did all of that with no mess and no fuss. Our house was spotless when he left. OMG! I cannot say enough about how happy I am with the work done. I had 3 other quotes before Ekonomy Pools recommended them to redo the wiring 30 feet from my house to my pool pump. Called Buddy & Sons after I had a very bad experience with a few Handyman from the "Handy" app. I had no power in two of my bedrooms and needed a ceiling fan installed. I called Buddy & Sons and they were able to schedule an electrician to come out same day. Rudy and Daniel both came, they were great! They fixed the power issue, explained the problem and taught me how to remedy in the future, and then installed my ceiling fan. Then they also had time to install a second ceiling fan I had ordered but thought (due to bad first handyman) was not working. The charge was $90 for the service visit which covered up to the first hour, then $45/hour after that. They were able to troubleshoot and install two ceiling fans in about an hour and a half. We hired Buddy Heilig &Sons to diagnose a halogen light problem required by our HOA to illuminate our address sign. The halogen lights would burn out in days if not hours after replacement. Our service representative was early to the appointment (letting us know he would be early) and rapidly diagnosed the problem . The transformer for the door bell and the light fixture installed by the builder was the incorrect voltage. The electrician had a suitable solution on board the truck and in minutes the problem was solved! The total bill was very reasonable for the work involved . Have had several good experiences with Buddy Heilig & Sons. We live in an older house in Tucson which has had lots of incremental electrical "upgrades" over the years, some better than others. When one of our circuits shorted we knew it was going to be a challenge. Anthony took the time to track and understand the problem and came back early the next day before his other appointments to finish everything and get us up and running (and man, is he fast!). Eric came out a couple of days later and redid some of our attic crawl-space electrical connections to make sure we wouldn't have more issues. We were so pleased we've set up another appointment with Anthony to fix some switches and other small issues that we've been living with for years. Did I mention they actually answer their phones (no call center!) and you can call and ask about/reschedule appointments with the very friendly staff. This was the second time I had them out to resolve different issues. First time, they worked magic running electric to a fireplace from another room, thought a wall socket. Other electricians wanted to rip a big hole in the plaster of two walls. I wasn't the easiest fix, but the proper way to do it. UPDATE: Ok, I have had a chance to contact other electricians for other bids. The 2 other bids I received are an average of $300.00 less. I am comparing this to the same job I had done about a year ago. The bid I received from this company was $1,089.00 more than the first one. Granted, this job will require running about 28' of conduit. Bottom line is they are semi-in the ballpark on this bid, but I still don't see myself using them. Maybe I am writing prematurely, but I had an electrician out today to give me a bid on installing a Tesla Wall Connect charger. The bid I received, in my opinion, was so outrageous I can't ever see myself using this company again. I hired them about a year ago for the same job and the electricians who came out were professional and reasonable. I will be getting at least 2 more bids, but I feel like this bid is OUTRAGEOUS! I don't know if it would affect the bid, but I didn't ask for it to include the service of taking me to the cleaners. If the other bids I receive for this job are comparable, I will try to remember to come back and update this review. The bid I received today was an insult! read more
