This review is probably about a year overdue because I have been real busy and reviews haven't been the first thing on my mind. Anyways, I took my 370z in to have the springs on the front struts replaced. So basically: remove strut and spring assembly from car, compress the sprint, unbolt a few bolts, release tension on the spring, remove from strut and put the new spring in, WITH THE SILENCERS that came off of the old springs, and then install the strut back on the car. Not only was I charged $329.40 to swap out a set of springs (fronts only), which I thought was ridiculous, but the silencers were not reinstalled on my new springs and now, when going over bumps in the road, my car creeks. Seriously the nicest people. I have been having front tire issues for the last few months, I don't know much about cars so I assumed it was an alignment issue. Twice I have taken my car to Buddha's Garage and they have pointed me in the right direction. Even though they couldn't fix my problem, Dave still gave me great advice and even took my car to discount tire to get serviced. I had to make a decision on how many tires I needed and I called Dave back because I trusted him to help me make a decision. He was so kind and let me know exactly what to do. They are super trustworthy and very kind people. read more

I took my Chevy Silverado to them to have an oil pickup tube o-ring and oil pan gasket replaced. They were great and everything has run smoothly since. Also recognized and quoted another couple of issues I knew about but are delaying fixing and provided repair estimates with my receipt. Very helpful, competitively priced and and expedient repair shop and I will definitely go back if I need a repair again. read more

Great honest service. They go the extra mile to make you happy and charge reasonable prices. I had to change mechanic shops after ProTech Automotive closed shop this year. Buddha's Garage definitely won my business and trust for a long time to come. read more

Updated Review Needed to update my review as a result of a mechanics negligence. Please keep in mind this is not a personal attack on any individual. Took my car back to the shop for spotty work and it was given back with a part missing. Replaced the part myself and have no interest in returning to the shop. I have exchanged emails with the shop about remedying the situation. They promised to reimburse the part but have not responded to my last few emails. I recommend taking photos of your car and engine before you take it in and then compare photos after services are performed. Original Review Phenomenal service. Quote request was responded to within an hour in PDF format. Parts and labor were listed. Was able to book an appointment within a week of original quote request. Highly effective and efficient customer service. Services done to my 2008 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport: Replaced catalytic converter Replaced and resurfaced cylinder head gasket Replaced timing belt and water pump Time in shop: 1.5 weeks My car runs like new. Very happy with quality of work. read more

I called ahead to see if the staff wears masks. They assured me this was the case. I arranged child care & drove across to town to find this was patently false. One man was pulling his on when he saw me & the other didn't even have a mask in sight. If they're deceptive about covid safety, I don't want to find out what else they aren't forthcoming about. read more

I needed an oil change and wanted to find a trust worthy place to do it. Several places I called said they were booked until the following week, but the receptionist at Buddha's Garage said they could get me in, but they couldn't guarantee the wait time. As I'm waiting, I am admiring all the Buddha statues in the waiting area, and I tell the owner Dave, those are some nice statues. The owner responds, you know they were all given to me by customers. I'm like really! He's like yeah, that one a customer got from Japan, that there is from Thailand. Then he proceeds to tell me a story of a customer whose father collected Buddha statues, and when he passed away, she gave him one of them, which he keeps in his dashboard. I tell him, your customers must really like you. He says, can't say we're the best mechanic, we just try to be honest, and I think that's what customers really want. I mean, that is more or less what I want, and that's how I felt I was treated. I left with a relaxed knowing that I have found a mechanic I can trust. read more

I went here because of the good reviews about customer service and pricing. All I needed was a an oil change. My car is a 2010 Ford focus, that only needs the basics of anything. My oil change was $80 and the front desk guy did not care at all that I expressed that that is way too much for an old basic car. He said they used fully synthetic oil which I know my car does not require, which makes me think that's how the price was so high. Not interested in going back. read more

They really listened to understand the problem and worked with me to make sure the problem was solved. I took my car to the dealer but found that they were booked for about a week. Looked up mechanics on Yelp and there is a reason Buddha's Garage is listed as #1 in the area -- looked at the problem and had a resolution in about an hour. read more

Excellent service by trustworthy people! I've been a customer for many years and they never disappoint. If something's a little off after a repair, they work hard to make it right and deliver. Honesty is the name of the game here. David the owner is fantastic and accommodates my car needs and my time frames as much as he can and so does Josué who runs the place in a smooth and efficient way! Rick the mechanic who has worked on my car many times is awesome! Always willing to make things better. A great experience with all the staff and their work. read more

My battery was acting up so I brought my car to Buddha's. Their customer service is great, they have a guy who specializes in those annoying (and usually expensive) brands like Audi and VW, and they didn't charge me nearly as much as they could've. read more

I came to have my oil changed here and to check out the shop for some maintenance repairs I know I will need soon. The owner and staff are all very friendly and professional. I am super happy to find this shop! read more

My garage! They are the most honest mechanics I have met in Austin! When I had my Prius, I would take it to the dealer and they would tell me that I needed about 20 things that usually was about $2500. I would, then, take it here and they would tell me that it was like $100 and that most of the repairs were not. They kept my car running to 160k + miles. Next time I have a car issue, I'm going here! read more

How does a car mechanic shop maintain a solid 5 stars? When you come here, you can easily see why. The front lady is amazingly honest and nice on the phone. She answers my questions and doesn't try to give me vague generic answers like other car repair shops do. When I went in, she is so darn sweet! I've now brought both our vehicles here for some work and each time they are priced competitively and they are extremely honest. I trust them now that I don't even ask around other shops for quotes anymore because I know the owners here at Buddha's will give me the best price that they can and do a great job. This saves me time and money, which both makes me happy. read more

Got my Mini Cooper fixed here and my husband got his Corvette repaired here. Quick turnaround!

Will, Paul, and all the employees are sooooo awesome!!! They take care of your problem ASAP, especially if your vehicle isn't safe. Plus, the prices are reasonable and honest. They're good people, and don't try to charge you for extraneous stuff or things without your consent. My trunk got jammed and wouldn't close, and Will got a screwdriver and hammer and fixed it on the spot. I've used them for other mechanical stuff and they fixed it perfectly. I highly recommend them. I've been going to a different car shop for years, but the service and expediency here is way better. Worth the drive up north!! They are truly 5 stars!! read more

The crew at Buddha's Garage did a great job fixing my 2009 F150 FX4 (215k miles) air conditioning system. They diagnosed a bad compressor where the clutch plate was completely rusted off, and fixed the whole system. Dropped it off close of business the night prior, and it was ready for pickup the next afternoon. read more

These guys are the real deal! The dreaded check engine light came on in my 06 Scion xB plus I had an electrical problem that prevented my headlamps from turning on. I had already replaced the bulbs and checked the fuses so felt pretty confident it was the multi-switch malfunctioning. I dropped the car off Tuesday afternoon and Will called me Wednesday morning to inform me the engine light was on because the Catalytic Converter needed replacing. I agreed to the quote to replace it and he said they were still working to diag the electrical issue and would follow up once they figured it out. During this time I called Auto Nation Toyota and Charles Maund Toyota to get a price quote on the Catalytic Converter. Both dealerships told me I had to purchase the entire system, and the quotes were $1,558.63 & $1,388.64 respectively. That's just for the parts! Will called me back and confirmed it was the multi-switch causing the headlamp issue. He set my expectations that the switch would arrive in the late afternoon and they should have my car ready the following day, Thursday. He called me Thursday afternoon to inform me that they had gone through 2 aftermarket multi-switches and were unable to fix the headlamp issue. He said they ordered an OEM switch from Toyota and were just waiting for it to arrive. I'm sure the OEM switch costs more but they didn't adjust the quote. I picked my xB up on Friday and so far everything is running great. They replaced the Catalytic Converter, Multi-Switch, and knocked out a full synthetic oil change for about half the cost of Auto Nation's price of the Cat. It gives me peace of mind knowing that I found a shop that I can trust. They are honest, fair and communicate well. These guys made a fan and loyal customer out of me. Thank you, Buddha's Garage!! read more

These guys are really honest and reliable. Half months ago, Audi dealer told me my car engine was leaking oil and will charge me over 1.5k to repair. I went to Buddha's Garage, the mechanician checked engineer and told me no issues at all. And I was be guided to check by myself with some tools to see all angles of engine which made me felt relieved. It's all free. Based on my 3-4 past experiences here, they do give very reasonable price if repair needed. Definitely I will go back to Buddha's Garage in future when needed. read more

Buddah's fixed my car after someone broke into my car. Really nice people! Good price and very attentive.

Was told by another garage my brakes and pads needed to be replaced immediately when taking my car in for a different service. I didn't believe them and took my car to Buddha's. Buddha's garage confirmed my suspicions that I was being lied to, quoted a price that was half the price I was told by the other garage (For when I do need the brake job), washed my car, and sent me on my way. 100% I'll be returning to these guys. read more

Wonderful experience! Needed to bring my car in for a routine oil change. I also mentioned that my tires might need some air and that after bringing my car to a different car shop to have brake pads replaced, I had been experiencing a loud squeaking sound for 200+ miles. They were very friendly and drove me back to my house. When the car was ready, my husband picked it up and...they fixed the squeaking sound and even put air in the tires! Highly recommend for friendly and reliable service, where they go above and beyond! read more

Stellar service abd always honest. I have been taking my vehicles here for years. They get it right all the time.

I've been taking my cars to Buddha's for several years. This review is long overdue. Buddha's has always treated me fairly. They have always done good work, and my aging VW Tiguan needed plenty of it! Twice they have volunteered that the failure was in an area they had worked on before and fixed the problem under warranty. Honest to a fault! They have bent over backwards to help me solve hard-to-diagnose problems. If I had a criticism, it's that they are sometimes a bit slow to get my car looked at. But, that's only because they are super busy with all the folks like me who wouldn't take their cars anywhere else. I highly recommend Buddha's Garage. read more

My beloved 13 yo Mercury Mariner was leaking oil. I took it to Dave "Buddha" because of all the positive reviews. Within hours, they had checked out the entire car, located exactly what needed fixing, and gave me a quote and a time estimate. Both were exactly on point. They also checked all the fluids, hoses, and belts to make sure they were okay. Definitely will return to Buddha's Garage next time we need service. A bunch of great guys who treat you right. Don't forget the 10% discount on labor for cash. read more

I was told by a dealership that I needed a new radiator and wanted to charge me $1000. Buddha gave me quote of half that. Then they ran diagnostics on the car and said there was no crack or leak in the radiator and that I didn't need the repair at all. He wouldn't even let me pay him for all the diagnostics and trouble they went to for ordering the new radiator. Awesome place! read more

The online reviews brought me to Buddha's Garage, and you should trust them too! I may never leave Austin so I don't have to go through the trouble of finding a new garage. I have had various minor issues with my car in the past year, so I've taken it into Buddha's Garage a few times. Each time, the customer service is excellent, Dave is transparent about the timeframe and cost, and the quality of service is unbeatable. And still, even with my expectations raised high, they still manage to exceed them. Go support Buddha's Garage and the entire team! read more
