Met a work colleague here for lunch. Midway point for us both. Seated right away. Waiter was not super attentive. Food was fresh, but is a bit pricy. My friend was impressed with his breakfast. I wouldn't go out of my way to return.

After studying at the Woodside library yesterday, my partner and I stumbled upon this lovely restaurant. It had this cozy diner vibe with cool trinkets hanging from the ceiling and old-school paintings. My boyfriend went for the $12 clam chowder bowl which was super thick and delicious. He also had a Space IPA in a glass. I got the $8 chili cup with some sweet potato fries. The whole meal was $40. He's all about these comfy, simple spots, not so much the fancy places. The service was top-notch too; they kept our water full and checked on us constantly. Plus, there was plenty of parking, and they're open late, which was perfect since we were there around 8 PM. Definitely a great find!

IMHO Today's visit to Buck's was great! First of all, we made a 3 p.m. reservation, which meant ample parking choices and an almost empty restaurant! We were given a comfy, cushioned booth by a front window for our party of four. We ladies asked for two orders of the Salmon Fish Tacos, $18, one order of the Heirloom Tomato B.L.T., served on soft rosemary focaccia, $18, and one order of the Pastrami Reuben, $18. The sandwiches come with fries, which you can sub out for sweet potato fries or salad for an additional $2, or fruit or onion rings for $3. I loved my BLT. Because the focaccia was soft, I didn't have to fight getting the sandwich in my mouth. It was yummy and delicious. I ate half of my generous portion and brought home the other half for dinner. Next time I hope to return for breakfast! I hear their coffee cake is a must-have!

Large bowl of chile

This is an interesting and very eclectic restaurant! The decor consists of a wide range of interesting items on every wall and hanging from the ceiling. It is worth it just to wander the dining rooms and gawk at the things on display! The service is quick and friendly. The food is very good. This is a great place for an interesting lunch with a friend. I had the large bowl of chili with extra-extra cheese ($12). The chili was tasty and filling. There was a dollop of sour cream on top and also under the chili, which made for a great taste combination. One improvement would be to have less beans and more meat. My wife had the Double Smash Burger ($19), which was extremely thick with meat and very tasty. She also upgraded the fries to Sweet Potato fries ($2 extra), which were worth it. She kept raving over the great taste of her lunch!

I hated it!!!!!! Just kidding. It was fire!!!! Super good Blt and wings!!! Clean plate club!

Super good!!!!! Nice little hole in the wall. When in Rome. Stop by bucks it will be worth it. Service was pretty fast and friendly

Bacon Burger with way overcooked bacon!

Could never understand why restaurants can not make a bacon burger with fresh bacon?? Is it that difficult? Supposedly everything else is cooked from a raw staring point. What's the deal with Bacon?? Specifically asked for fresh not overcooked bacon, not from the morning stack of bacon that has been sitting all day long.

Awesome restaurant open the fur breakfast lodge dinner in Woodside very busy on weekends with parking available in the lot. It's a real funky place almost a museum of all kinds of different things, including a display of the first Apple Computer, which was kind of cool. A great menu with all of the usual favorites for breakfast lunch and dinner.

Buck's isn't just a restaurant -- it feels like a living piece of old California. After the elegance and quiet beauty of Filoli, Buck's was the perfect contrast: vibrant, eclectic, full of personality, history, and warmth. But what truly made the experience special was the people. The owner, the manager, the waitress -- everyone treated guests with genuine kindness and respect in a way that feels increasingly rare today. Not because someone has a big name, status, or influence. Simply because they are people and customers. That kind of atmosphere can't be faked or designed overnight. It only happens in places built over years by real human connection, conversation, and character.

Short rib hash

My waitress was so kind and helpful. I ordered the short rib hash O my gosh It was absolutely delicious!! Tender, lean ribs, not a bit of fat ! The best brown gravy and soft perfectly roasted potatoes I had an over easy egg on top Spinach was incorporated in the dish and on the bottom was a delicious creamy sauce that took that gravy to the next level !!!! Fantastic!!

Look, the dining is basic. Go gourmet food here. But the Ambiance!! In a fabulous location in Woodside with the walls filled with Silicon Valley history. Parking is terrible. Service is fine. But you're coming for the VIBE. A Soviet Era spacesuit? An Apple 1? Ancient household appliances? Yes, please. I love the AMD artifacts. Come for the museum, stay for the food.

Oh Bucks, such a landmark in woodside. We've been coming here for years. We had the opportunity to meet the owners a few years ago, and greatly admire their devotion and dedication to this restaurant. The ambiance speaks for itself, it's filled with so so so many amazing souvenirs that will keep you looking around while you dine. The best part, how they've managed to keep everything or clean and organized. The service is always very friendly. The waitress took our order and the food came out fairly quick. The food, not bad. I definitely prefer their dinner menu with the amazing burgers & milkshakes. We came in today for breakfast and it wasn't great. The "world famous coffee cake" just didn't hit the spot. Maybe it needs a sauce? More moist? I'm not sure, but it was not what I was expecting. Overall, we love and will continue to support our local neighborhood restaurant

Cobb Salad

Funny restaurant that's also a museum of odds and ends plastered all over the walls. Had a very respectable Cobb salad for lunch, and fresh brewed iced tea. Great place!

I've been to Buck's quite a few times over the years. I'm finally just getting around to writing a review for them now. I went for breakfast this morning with a couple of friends who were visiting for the weekend from Washington. First off, the decor. So dang cool. Beyond that, one of the employees today (I didn't catch her name) explained some of the history behind it to me. Apparently the big mural on the wall contains depictions within it of both the owners and people who they knew in the Woodside area when Buck's first opened back in the 90's. So cool!!!! I love to learn a little about the history of a place. It adds so much color and life to the place where I'm spending time with people who I (presumably) love. I know there's so much more history to this place... but I'll leave that for another reviewer or another time, because I don't want this review to get too long. Plus I don't know too much more about it yet. Lol! The food was delicious today. I got the "Big Buck", as shown in my picture. Just a delicious, filling, well-rounded all-American breakfast. Two eggs cooked how you like, bacon cuts, a couple pancakes, your choice of toast, and a small cup of fruit. Just good eating there, and I didn't get a big sugar or carbs hangover afterwards, to make the experience even better! If you're looking for coffee or pastries before or after you eat at Buck's, you can go right next door to the Village Bakery & Cafe. You looking for a place that feels like a diner out of the 90's, has an eclectic decor, nice open space, and invites you to hang out with your loved ones and have a good conversation without feeling rushed out the door? Try out Buck's. Best Kyle :)

We got the Bubalina Margherita ($25.25) and added prosciutto ($6). It fed the three of us quite well! I was hoping to be in town again and make a proper in-person visit! SECOND ENCOUNTER: Funny enough, we were road tripping to San Francisco to the RM x SFMOMA exhibit and needed some dinner before getting into town. We arrived on a Saturday evening and put our name down for a table, walking around the area before they texted us our table was ready 25 minutes later. We didn't realize seating inside goes all the way to the back, as they have a nice cozy back patio outside. It was a little warm still and they did have a fan running, so it wasn't too bad. Our group of four decided to split everything, so we ordered the sausage and honey pizza ($27), carbonara pizza ($27), and basque cheesecake ($13), basically everything BTS ordered that we were able to reasonably finish! Everything was so delicious, from the thin NYC- style like pizza to the toppings. For some reason, my brain thought the carbonara was a pasta item here so imagine my surprise when a pizza came. Never had a runny egg smack in the middle of my pizza before, but it was pretty good! Hard to choose between the two pizzas, so come with a group if you can, so you can try multiple things. Our server Ara took good care of us, answering our questions about the menu, and keeping our water filled. We overhead another table getting the story of when BTS came, so we super appreciate Jesse (who wasn't even our server) for taking time to talk to us after our meal and share some stories. Vesta seems to appreciate the additional business (and likely inquisitive diners) from BTS's visits and does a great job accommodating its customers while celebrating the BTS connection. If they haven't run out, check out their Vesta x BTS stickers!

Everyone here was so welcoming, nice and sweet. Service was great and the food came out super quick. And loved the white Vesta shirts the kitchen staff were wearing, truly was enamored and thought they were so sick. They have a great beer & wine selection but we stuck with something light: Pilsner & Sparkling Brown Sugar Lemonade. We got two appies: Marinated Castelverano Olives & the Burrata plate. The olives easily outshined the Burrata to me, perfectly seasoned and firm (soft olives give me the ick for some reason!) TBH, would honestly pass on the burrata next time and order two bowls of olives Though my eyes wanted multiple, we ultimately decided on the Carbonara pizza! It was the type of deep & rich that didn't make you hate yourself while eating it. I know the general thought may sound heavy but it was perfectly balanced down to the egg. Also, easily now one of my top 3 favorite pizza doughs in the bay area. It had all the feats of an upscale spot without coming off as haughty, which is what overall made me feel so welcome off the bat. They were hosting all types of groups from people winding down from work, families, birthdays and even us, celebrating our anniversary. We can't wait to come back because there is so much more we want to try!

My partner, who used to live nearby, has been a regular here. He ordered a pepperoni pizza and the Blanco. I really liked how they serve it, stacking the pizzas in a visually appealing way. We got two whole pizzas, and at around $22 each plus tax and tip so total came out around $50-$60, the price felt fair, especially considering the quality and taste. We ate some of the pizza at the restaurant, but since we couldn't finish it all, we took the rest to go. The service was great too; the girl who attended to us was really friendly and brought the pizza to our table. The atmosphere was great, too. They have large tables, some with smooth wooden benches against the wall. There were also about four or five arcade games, and a selection of beer and alcohol available, though we didn't have any drinks. I especially enjoyed the old framed pictures showing Redwood City in the '50s and '60s. Overall, it was a relaxing environment. We felt comfortable even though we came straight from work and a hike, not dressed up at all. I'd definitely come back again.

Better than slice house?…read more For some reason, the pizza here was better than that of the slice house. The slices were thicker with my crisp - actually very reminiscent of a New York slice. We got the ultimate and the rocket man. The ultimate was delicious. The rocket man was decent, but had a tad too much lemon and felt like it was missing something. I still ate it heartily though as I pretty enjoy any pizza with arugula on top. We also tried some of their wings, which was a little disappointing. The wings were kind of tiny with not much meat. The buffalo sauce was pretty standard and the chipotle cola bbq was too sweet for my taste (probably could have predicted that from the name)
