SERVICE-was non existent-literally. I went inside to get coffee and breakfast today, only to be totally ignored for a total of 35 minutes, which was my fault I should have left way before then. Waitress saw me and ignored me. There weren't many customers in the diner and the ones who were there were all served and eating. She didn't come over once to even give me a menu. I had to ask a guy, didn't know his title, for a menu. He asked what I wanted to drink and I said a coffee with cream and sugar. He brought the coffee and a small glass of milk to me and left. He didn't ask if I decided what to eat, or if he could take my order. Another 15 minutes, waiting and drinking my coffee and no one came to take my order. I offed to pay for my coffee and he refused my money and I left, in a nutshell. If I could give the service, or lack of, I would give it negative stars. The waitress should be retrained or fired. Waitress has long black hair, in teens or twenties, and she sucks at her job. I will never be going back to this dinner. They just lost and customer and I hope they lose many more. It's too bad because I use to really like going to this diner every once in a while and have been there several times in the past. Even the couple behind said they noticed how the waitress ignored me and the whole time I was there never even came to my booth. Only received coffee. No food. read more

A local's diner for the locals. I always go there on weekend mornings for my usual: breakfast feast (bacon, eggs, pancakes, o.j, coffee). It is truly a feast! The service is always fast and the restaurant is maintained clean. Always a nice experience eating there, worth every penny. read more

Decided to stop here on a Thursday evening. The diner was empty. I have a family of four. We ordered mozzarella sticks for an appetizer and they came with no cheese inside surprise. I ordered a cheesteak wrap and half the wrap had a sliver of meat inside. I already sent back the mozzarella sticks so I kept the wrap. My daughters quesadilla was a little over cooked. The other two meals chicken fingers and giro were good. Overall what a disappointing experience. The waitress did remove the fried cheese less sticks off the bill . read more

Dunmore PA is not the easiest place to navigate or eat. Apparently Yelp! has not permitted the greater Scranton area, because most of the restaurants only have a few reviews. And Dunmore Diner had none... After wandering around trying to find another place, I stumbled in here. I am not sure if it has changed ownership or its name, but somehow someone should have reviewed this place! It is a kind of throwback... a cross between a real diner and a small-town home cooking joint where a guy named Joe makes some locally famous stew. In any case, the menu is enormous and reminds me of a Long Island diner where they literally cook everything. The Dunmore has a full range of salads, gyro's, hamburgers, open face sandwiches, triple deckers, spaghetti and almost anything else you can imagine. I bet if you asked, they'd make anything for you. I had an open-face turkey, and it was good. It was real turkey breast which looked to be made from one of those breasts you can buy to roast without getting the whole bird. Basic gravy on white bread, and real mashed potatoes. It came with soup, which was Italian Wedding. There were quite a few soup choices. It hit the spot. The plate was more than I could eat, even after a day of skiing. The service was great, and everyone was friendly. One thing I liked were the photos of the food in the menu--another LI influence. It helped me decide what I wanted, and help navigate the choices for the kids. My son had spaghetti and meatballs and ate a huge plate full. Good diner food, and very reasonably priced. read more

The food was mediocre, but it's a small town diner. The interior could have been a bit more updated and I thought the wait staff was a bit lackluster. Overall, I would not go here again - I believe there are far better Diners but if you're looking for fast and filling, this is your place. read more

Very clean , service was excellent, waitresses was very professional and flexible with our order. Only issue the air conditioning was not cool enough, must of been 75 degrees, I would of been comfortable at 70-72 degrees read more

Great service, decent diner food. Not too expensive. I had the tuna melt with French fries. I should've asked for tomato and lettuce, but it was good. Small diner, but pretty good food. I am not from this area so I went on yelp to search a good place to eat and this came up...we were in Dunmore for the atv trail. From the second we walked in the door we felt like everyone was looking at us and they literally were. The restaurant is really small so maybe that is why. It took a few minutes for us to be seated. The waitress took at least 5 minutes or more to come back and take our drink order. When she finally came back she threw the straws at us and placed the drinks down...said she would be back to take our order that never happened because we realized we would be here a while if we stayed and we only had a little over an hour to eat and get back to the trails. Honestly I think this is a locals only joint, I didn't get that friendly diner vibe. The food might be good (we didn't stay to eat) but the service is not! read more

The service was ok, took the waitress 10 minutes before she came over to get the drink order. I had a cheeseburger, and fries. The iced tea tasted like there was spoiled milk in the glass, the cheeseburger was from a frozen patty, and unseasoned. Terrible. The fries were surprisingly good, nice and crispy, well seasoned. I was 12 hours into a long drive and starving. I decided to pull off the highway and seek out a place to eat. I chose the Buck Town Diner because I've never been to a bad diner. This was definitely an exception. This diner was horrible. When the waitress greeted me and gave me a table, and then left me to sit there for 15 minutes before asking if I'd like a drink, I should have walked out. There were only 3 other patrons in the diner, another signal that this place was a big FAIL, since it was the dinner hour. I placed an order for what is normally simple, common diner fare, roast turkey dinner. It was supposed to come with a choice of potato, (I chose mashed), stuffing, gravy, vegetable (I chose cauliflower), cranberry sauce and bread and butter. After delivering my drink and a salad, it was another 30 minutes before my meal was brought to the table. What was presented to me was a plate covered in gravy, I had to scrape it aside to see what was underneath. I had to ask for the cranberry sauce that was supposed to be served with it and no bread and butter were ever brought to the table. . I took a few bites of bland mashed potatoes and then bit down on something grainy and unpotatolike. I spit it out into a napkin, it was black and granular. I have no idea what it was. My appetite left me then and there. The waitress never came back to ask me how my meal was or to offer me additional drink. By this time there were only 2 other patrons in the diner. I had to raise my voice to grab her attention and pay the bill. I will never eat there again and would recommend no one else waste their time or money there. read more
