Having three really delicious Texas weiners in West Scranton. The hot dogs are cut in half and fried, a bit crispy, mustard, onions, and covered with tasty sauce. Definitely an excellent chili dog! Their motto is "we will put our weiners up against anyone's". The staff is very friendly. The luncheonette also serves breakfast and burgers. It's an old school establishment in business since 1920. I don't think that it has been redecorated since they opened, but don't let that frighten you. My three Texas weiners and coffee was $12 and change. read more

As always the food is amazing. I get from Keystone at least once a week. I always leave a good tip even though I order to pick up. But when I order a burger and have add ons that I pay for, the cook always have an attitude about it. So because of him, I will not be going back there again. read more

Welcome to part 3 of our Hot Doggin' NEPA 2025 series where I made it out to the beautiful Scranton area stopping at the Keystone Restaurant. They offer Texas Weiners. They have a 2 Texas Weiner deal going on, so I got that with a cheeseburger. Now this is a throwback to your old school type of restaurant. Their Weiners are cut in half with their signature sauce, with mustard and onions. This is a great tasting sauce, not too small but not big either. Their fries are fresh cut, nice and hot. Hit Keystone after a few people saw my videos on the two Coney Island lunch spots and The Barrel and told me I needed to come here. Grabbed a Texas Weiner from the friendly and helpful staff for just over $3. The place just looked like a real old school style diner that you'd see in a movie about a small town. So basically a diner in Scranton. These types of dogs typically aren't anything to write home about in my experience but they have a place in the world. It's a cheap fix with multiple proteins and flavors going on. This one I felt was honestly just as good if not better than the coney spots. The employees are fantastic, their food delicious, the atmosphere relaxing. The menu has something for everyone. If you've never been there I highly recommend 10/10 24/7 everyday!!! Super disappointed. To be fair we ordered through Uber Eats. It was a big order, more than 1/2 was correct. They didn't put mayo on a cheesesteak, that requested mayo, they didn't add the side chipotle ranch that was ordered. They messed up a turkey club ($16+). Ordered with no mayo and no tomato (guess what it came with), ordered extra crispy bacon ($4 add on), less than 1 full piece of xtra chewy bacon (opposite of what I ordered), xtra crispy breakfast potatoes with cheese and gravy (both extra $), did not include the gravy and it was cheese wiz (which I do not consider cheese, but in fairness I didn't ask, I assumed. So shame on me for assuming. I did order them crispy, which they were not. The rest of the order was correct and enjoyable. Unfortunately, Uber Eats is terrible when orders are wrong. Keystone said they would make a new sandwich, but I couldn't leave my house to pick it up. The reason I ordered delivery. read more

We were looking for Texas Wieners in the area. We found our normal place was closed today. We decided to try a new place. We found Keystone Restaurant. It was very busy but the server was very quick to acknowledge us. After our order taken we had our food quickly. The wieners tasted great the portions were great for the value. The dinners here are shocking. I think of the Keystone as a diner. They are keeping the meatloaf and mashed, but adding fine food. I had a grilled pork chop in bourbon sauce that rivals the best chops I've ever enjoyed. I've paid $45 a mile away for an a la carte chop that wasn't close to as good as the $25 chop here. My cheesesteak was way overcooked and dry, barely any cheese at all, when I asked for provolone AND American. BARELY any onions or peppers, no mushrooms as requested. Lettuce was skimpy and way too much Mayo. Nothing else we got really had any flavor. For a staple restaurant in our area, very disappointed and will not be ordering from here again Forgot to add, I called the restaurant because there was no option to add jalapenos to my nachos. When I asked for them to be added, whoever answered said "I'll let them know, but they probably won't do it". How professional and so difficult to add jalapenos. Just sad read more

Great lunch spot. It's a greasy spoon; a no frills coney island style hot dog and hamburger kind of place. I very much enjoy their dogs in buns from the local bakery (the National) and I would put their fries up against anyone in the area. read more

Visiting family in PA, were from New York. A little hole in the wall my sister told us about. Place is clean , waitress was very friendly food was delicious. Our party was of five and a toddler. Three of us ordered the keystone breakfast special. Delicious with that homemade taste. We ordered a blueberry pancake for our toddler and they made it into little silver dollars , so cute. If there was a Nobel Prize for American Diners, this place would win it hands down. I grew up in this city and the teens hung out here on the weekends. It was famous then for "Texas Wieners" and Texas Burgers". 50 years later, I'm in town on business and drove past and they're still here. I had the Texas cheeseburger with bacon, and fries with Texas sauce. What a rush. It tastes exactly like it did 50 years ago. Absolutely perfect. The diner is very clean with plenty of booth and counter space and it's real easy to find a place to park. The neighborhood is safe. This is a must see. Great for kids too. read more

Came here around 11 a.m. on a Saturday morning. It's a relatively small diner with on street parking. Its seat yourself so we found a cozy booth towards the back and sat down. Immediately a waitress came over to bring us menus and ask what we wanted to drink. We then placed our order. I got a patty melt with fries. Everything was cooked fresh-- the Burger was made from real ground beef, not the frozen stuff lol. The French fries were hand cut. My boyfriend got eggs and French toast and he liked his food as well. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. I would definitely come here again. read more

I liked a greasy spoon just like everyone else. But they put the piping hot tater tots directly into the styrofoam container which melted through. The omlette even melted some of the styrofoam and made my eggs taste like plastic. It wouldn't hurt to put a sheet of paper under the food or wait 30 seconds. read more

Quaint hometown diner in Scranton. My daughter and I were looking for something different than the regular places we've gone to in downtown scranton. This felt homey and inviting. There were no tables so we elected to sit at the bar. After one coffee a table opened up and we were quickly accommodated. The specialities are the weiners sandwich so I had to have one. Just basic with mustard and it was very good. We both had eggs and potatoes and bacon. All good. Coffee was great. The patrons seem to know each other which made for a nice environment. We ended a drunken night in Scranton at Keystone Restaurant, which is practically around the corner from my sister's house. Why had she never taken me there for late night eats before? The small diner had a few characters but no one was overly obnoxious (hopefully we weren't, either). The place is known for their Texas wieners but I wasn't feeling so daring. I opted for chicken fingers and fries. The chicken fingers were fine (big ups for the extra large side of Frank's Red Hot on the side) but the fries were definitely not fresh-cut as another Yelper mentioned. Maybe they used to be? I definitely saw frozen steak fries on the night of my visit, and they weren't really seasoned with anything, either. Definitely not worth the calories. Cash-only and grab your own drink from the fridge in the front. This is a bare-bones type of situation but it works for late-night. You wouldn't catch me here otherwise. read more

Keystone is the home of NEPA comfort food like no other! Texas Wieners are 5 for $11, 10 for $20 and gravy fries go perfectly with them. I haven't been in a while but was surprised to see the menu changed and thought maybe they were owned by someone new, but the waitress said it's still the same family owned restaurant, just wanted to change things up a bit. New adds to their menu include garlic parm fries, more gourmet bigger burgers (that looked delicious) and soup. Took more than half an hour to just get the pancakes, and the steak we got is so overcooked that I had problem chewing when I specifically said medium rare. This place may be cheap but seriously I can get way more and better quality food by paying a dollar or two more at somewhere else. read more

Exactly what we needed. A quick bite on our way home on a road trip. Delicious diner food - cheap - good service. Occasionally I will stop in here for breakfast if I am along Main Ave. The restaurant itself isn't the nicest place in Scranton and there are some characters sitting at the counter sometimes. Alas, when I am there I go for the food, not the environment. My usual order is hot sausage, egg and cheese on a hard roll with a side of home fries, crispy and no onion. I'm not sure where they get it from, but the sausage is some of my favorite and makes the whole sandwich. The home fries are very good as well, and are more than just bland potatoes, which is sometimes the case in certain places. Be advised it is cash only! read more

The entire restaurant was covered in fruit flies. We waited an extremely long time just to have part of our order given to another table. Fries were soggy, chicken tenders were rock hard because they forgot about them. The iced tea wasn't even recognizable, it was sent back. I can't say enough about how bad the food, service, and overall cleanliness was. Both waitresses blamed each other for food going to wrong place. It was a complete waste of a stop. read more
