Drive-thru coffee shop features unique and flavorful coffee drinks. We ended up getting hibiscus tea (sun azucar), and iced coffee with coconut & caramel. Friendly service! The drinks were great.

This guy had my husband and I cracking up when we went for a coffee run! He was so friendly and was ready to crack all the jokes. :) I ordered a latte with cinnamon (just powder, since he didn't have syrup) and my husband had a mocha with oat milk. Both of our drinks were fantastic. He even took the time to do latte art in both of our drinks. Our drinks total was maybe a dollar or two more expensive at most over Starbucks. But the quality and flavor were great for both drinks, the conversation was fantastic, and supporting a local business makes everyone feel good inside! We will definitely be back! I can't wait to ride our bikes here and stop for an iced coffee refresher - there are a few picnic tables right near the drive-thru!

Bulletproof Coffee

First, the pictures taken of this place are accurate and because of its diminutive size, there are no others needed! I've driven past this place hundreds of times with my family on our way to visit my in-laws. I haven't really ever thought much of it until a friend told me in passing about it. Because COVID-19, I have taken to supporting smaller businesses. I drove up and was greeted by who I assume is the owner. He was extremely engaged and kind as well as educational! As a teacher myself, I thought he was perfect in his explanation of what exactly is a bullet proof coffee. At his recommendation I bought it! Now, I stay away from superlatives on Yelp, but I must say, this may be the best coffee I've ever had. With very few adjuncts added to this brew, it was creamy, latte-like, but low fat and sugar free! The best of all worlds. The only negative was the price-$5. Howe's we, as a smaller business during this time, I don't blame them and I'm happy to spend that on coffee! Well done, Bubo. You will be my stop for coffee whenever I'm in town from now on!

Iced oat milk latte

This was one of the best iced oat milk lattes I've ever had! The service was impeccable, the espresso was smooth, and they also have several non-dairy milk options, which I appreciated!

Large caramel latte after a rainy hike

The only complaint I have about Bubo's is that it's too far from home! We go hiking at West DuPage Woods semi-regularly and whenever we do I walk at a much faster pacs than normal; I know when we're done, I can get a latte from Bubo! The owner is always pleasant, great quality, and always piping hot (how I prefer my coffee.)

Great little coffee shop. Perfect for your daily commute. They sell Intelligentsia coffee and Kilogram Teas which are two of my favorites.

I'd consider the space small/moderate-ish. There are 2 different areas to sit at and my guess is at max capacity it's ~40 people. Their coffee menu is pretty standard when compared to other coffee shops. 1 item that stood out to me was the mocha latte. They label it as 'the most amazing mocha latte' which naturally made me want to try it. This is not my usual coffee order, I typically get a chai or a matcha so kudos for reeling me in with the fun verbiage lol. They don't offer almond milk but thankfully they do have oat so I got that instead. They aren't kidding about it being the most amazing mocha latte.. it was REAL good. It was rich, creamy and oh so delicious. I also loved the latte art. For food I got a blueberry muffin and enjoyed it. I liked that it had different textures throughout, the crumble and the smoothness of the muffin itself. It is also generous with the amount of blueberries in it. If you're looking for a breakfast sandwich or really any hot breakfast items.. sadly you won't get it here, but the muffins make up for it!

The blueberry muffin definitely could have benefitted from butter and being heated up. For $4, I wouldn't get one again. Overall, this is a great spot! Some of their items can be hit or miss; but when you find something you like, its *chefs kiss*. The staff is always kind and I loved seeing the same workers here as I've seen at the market! I ended up getting a karak chai and a gulab jamun cheese cake to go for $15 including $2 tip. The chai was too hot to drink right away but I kept sneaking tiny sips until it cooled off. It wasn't great, but I thought it would be better once I could get a good swallow of it. Wrong. The tea was extremely bitter (a sign of over-boiling or using too much tea leaves) and I wasn't able to discern any spices. I tried to doctor it up once I got home, but nothing helped so it went down the drain. Blech. The cheese cake should have been delicious, but it was drying out from sitting in the case too long. It was very stiff, and the outside was turning to plastic. (Not literally, but it looked and felt like it.) I didn't finish that either. This place has a great menu, and I was initially looking forward to visiting more often once I start getting allergy shots at the clinic next door, but I will save my money and spend it at La Birria Loca down the block instead.

The building looks like it was converted from a church, and the back seating area has some high stained glass windows. In the middle of the cafe is a narrow hallway/corridor where the supply closet and the single stall bathroom is, so it segments the cafe into two areas, connected by this hallway in the center. The design feels very clearly like a remnant of an old historic building, and a brick alleyway runs along one side. In the space/room where you order (walking through the seating area and through the hallway), it opens up with huge windows and a huge industrial coffee grinder on full display. There's another counter to order, with a few pastry options, and along another side wall, a rack of F&H clothes for purchase and the drink menus. (The aesthetic reminded me of Blue Bottle.) I ordered an iced Whiskey Vanilla Latte with oak milk and it was good! I couldn't taste any whiskey at all, and when I ordered the barista had mentioned this (cooked off so you wouldn't taste it) so it was a decent vanilla latte. I'll give them props for a really cool unique flavor. We all grabbed our drinks and headed (back through the hallway) into the other room with the seating area. There is a small section with a couch, otherwise lots of tables and chairs and I was glad it wasn't too crowded so we were able to grab a table. This was a great spot to grab coffee and meet up with friends. It's in a neat little downtown area in Wheaton, and they offer creative coffee drinks, with beans and merch to purchase.
