I've been a long-time customer and have experienced excellent customer service. The quality of their products is unmatched, which inspires me to recommend them to friends, family, and associates. But most of all is there mission to provide employment to formerly incarnated individuals giving them the dignity of work. read more

I've been ordering coffee from here for over 15 years and outstanding coffee every time. And new types all the time!

This spot is a bit of a drive for me but I saw online that they have amazing coffee beans that are sustainably sourced so I had to try since we got a new espresso machine for Christmas. I had a wonderful chat with the gentleman who gave me my coffee and he offered me to try their coffee of the day and it was so tasty that I knew my beans were going to be good. I will definitely be coming back! read more

Nothing better than daily roasted coffee. You're missing out if you haven't tried this place a real gem.

i was looking for a source for really good fresh roasted beans and THIS IS IT! The bean selection is better than anywhere I've seen in the Chicago suburbs, the service is outstanding.....and they roast the beans and ship the same day. I ordered the Ethiopia beans for a Christmas gift along with a tin of Summer Garland caffeine-free tea leaves. Now I know where to get the best beans. And they're in Wheaton, IL. read more

Very friendly and helpful. The gentlemen at the door gave me some brewing tips for my new Aeropress and helped me find the gift/sampler from their site. My coffee was roasted same day, custom ground for my needs, delivered to my house. Just excellent service. The coffee is lovely. I'll be ordering more soon. read more

I just moved here with my family from out of state. Starbucks and Dunkin' coffee just don't cut it. We went out to breakfast in Naperville - shout out to Nature's Best Cafe - and their coffee was EXCELLENT. I asked the owner where their coffee came from, and he told me that not only was I Have a Bean a great product, but they also had a wonderful second-chance mission. I had the Colombian roast at Nature's Best, so I ordered that, along with the Sumatra and Ethiopian varieties. I've been making the Ethiopian every day since receiving my shipment, in my new pour over configuration, and have been loving it. I will be a repeat customer! read more

Wow, I just ordered a bag of beans from I Have A Dream. I live about 45 min away and wasn't up for the drive out there so I ordered my beans to be delivered. This is definitely the fastest I've ever received fresh beans--it took two days! Thank you, roasters!! I got the Colombia Decaf, whole beans. Roasted on Feb 11th and delivered Feb 12th. That's amazing. The taste is amazing too--they describe it, saying it gets sweeter as it cools. And they're right. My first cup did not disappoint, no bitterness, and I am already looking forward to my next cup. Next time I'm in Wheaton, I will definitely be stopping by in person. Also, what a good cause to support with my coffee obsession--they employ ex-convicts. It's hard for them to find jobs after they're released--how wonderful that this business supports them. Thank you for roasting my delicious beans, Ebben! read more

I Have a Bean - Colombia Decaf - Coffee Roasteries Near Me - Wheaton, Illinois

I found out about I Have A Bean in the book Untapped Talent about companies that have successfully employed formerly incarcerated people. The effort to do so is good for helping employers with their labor shortage challenged while improving the lives of people who want (and deserve) a second chance. Intrigued by their social mission, I ordered a pound of ground Java dark roast. Before I opened the bag I noticed its distinctive aroma -- even my wife, who does not drink coffee, remarked on how good it smelled. And it lived up to the hype: Bold, rich flavor -- as good as any dark roast I've had. Wanna drink great coffee while making a difference? I Have A Bean will make that happen for you. read more

IHAB is a staple of the Wheaton community! Their coffee is second to none. We love using their coffee for cold brews in the summer. Love that they only roast it AFTER I have ordered it. You cannot go wrong by ordering your coffee through them! Good people; good coffee; good purpose! read more

I discovered I Have a Bean several years ago from a socially conscious holiday gift list. I'm a huge coffee snob and liked their mission so I gave them a try. I have never looked back. This coffee is worth the price. And it is indeed on the pricey side but you do get a full pound. The flavor is complex and rich. I'd say you didn't need as much every morning but it's so delicious I don't drink less than I would other coffees. This coffee provides an experience. It's not just a caffeine hit. It's a beverage to savor and enjoy. Every sip makes me pause and breathe deep and relax. It makes an amazing start to the day. And once you try it, you'll never want to go back to lower quality coffee again. read more

An awesome local coffee spot! They offered me a complimentary drink when I came in even though I was just picking up an online order. The coffee smelled SO good, I couldn't wait to try it. It was fresh and amazing upon brewing it! It's a little more expensive but the quality is top notch and a product I will continue to buy! read more

When you open a bag of coffee from I have a Bean, you will experience heaven on earth! Once I tasted their freshly roasted coffee, I knew I would never go back to coffee that has sat on a grocery store shelf. And that was not even the original reason I tried I Have a Bean. I started buying their coffee because they hire post prison people. I know how hard it is for someone with a criminal record, especially a felony, to get a job. So the fact that I have a Bean intentionally hires them made me want to buy coffee from them. And I have continued year after year to buy my coffee from I Have a Bean. You don't have to live near Wheaton. They ship coffee within a day of roasting to anywhere. read more

I have a subscription for whole bean coffee, and the taste far surpasses whole beans I've gotten from Starbucks and Caribou. I get the Colombian Women Producers, and the Peruvian Cajamarca. The secret to preparing an exceptional cub of coffee is fresh and correctly roasted coffee beans. Roasting coffee is an art and the roaster must have a great palate. Fresh coffee is not inexpensive, so it's nice to have a socially conscious roaster. I Have a Bean meets all of these qualities wrapped in a business that helps people who have been incarcerated by teaching them new skills. I am grateful every day for coffee from I Have a Bean. I've traveled a lot and can tell you, this is awesome coffee. read more

When my husband first learned about this company, we decided to order from them to support their mission of employing post-prison individuals. While perusing the coffee selections, I had a difficult time choosing which ones to try first. We ordered 4 1-pound whole bean bags and opted for regular shipping. I received an order confirmation email, an email letting me know my coffee had shipped, another letting me know when it would arrive (including a time frame!), and a last one telling me it had been delivered. I appreciate this level of communication, as I've ordered from other roasters and been left to wonder "where the heck is my coffee??" In our experience with I Have a Bean, there is no confusion or frustration, only eager anticipation. The bags are simple yet visually appealing, and my name is printed on a label on each one. I'm not a coffee expert by any means, so I won't embarrass myself by attempting to describe flavor profiles and aromas. All I can say is, the coffee is divine. I drink mine black, and usually need it to be scalding hot to truly enjoy it. I like this coffee even lukewarm. How does it still taste good when other brands of coffee make me gag when tepid? Magic, probably. My husband and I make a large French press of I Have a Bean coffee every morning. It's a beautiful way to start each day. We just received our second shipment and we're looking forward to tasting our new selections. We're so thankful to have learned about this company and we appreciate the work, skill, knowledge, and pride the individuals at I Have a Bean put into each bag of coffee they produce. read more

They are not open during their posted hours. Went twice and gave up. I have had their coffee before though and it is very good.

My coffee search is over. A company with a delicious and wonderfully satisfying coffee combined with an important social mission. Flavorful, great depth of traditional profile in the Nicaraguan and Guatemalan coffee! Love the e mail education and coffee making experience guide that delves into the coffee experience. I went through a period where I would buy various whole coffee beans at the grocery stores thinking that I would enjoy the variety. I made the switch to I Have a Bean last year and have stayed with them. They choose their beans very carefully from various areas bringing some wonderful roasts.
