We went in 15 minutes before closing and by then the selection was pretty picked over so my wife had a white chocolate and I believe raspberry and I had the orange scones. Neither would be even a top 5 choice but the owner (who was extremely friendly and helpful) warmed ours up and I will say I can only imagine what our top possible choices would have tasted like as they were both some of the best we ever had. I stopped back in while at the hospital across the street, and Sconce House is just as delicious and welcoming as ever. The tables were mostly full of little gangs of ladies and the staff seemed familiar with most everyone who came in (& remembered me from past visits!) We saw the sign scones and literally jumped out of our car . It's a neighborhood spot with lots of ladies hanging out and crocheting while catching up on gossip. Completely negligent in regard to allergies. Employee was asked to change gloves after handling a peanut butter product and the employee proceeded to get offended. I've worked as a barista for the last 4 years and I don't think I've ever come across a matcha that isn't green, and that tastes like milk with syrup. It was also addressed, and the drink came back out exactly the same. Matcha is green is it not? It's a shame because I really want to support a local, black owned business. But the overall experience was disappointing at best. A pastry and drink place such as this one is typically one of the first stops some people have in their schedule, it's your job to set the tone for the day. Needless to say, the tone was set poorly. There was a long line of people waiting to get their scone so I knew they would be worth the wait. They have several flavors and quite a few gluten free options! Ohhh wow! I stopped in to grab a coffee and HOLY SCONES BATMAN! Scone House Cafe has an awesome selection of 3 things: sweet scones, savory scones and tea! The guy behind the counter could have been lovelier telling me his favorite flavor scone (Cinnamon roll) as well as telling me that their teas take about 5 min to brew. I sprite seeing my expectations up right from the start in case I was in a rush. Plenty of parking outside in the street! The interior is wild- all purple. Just stopped in this place yesterday around lunchtime. They had a handful of flavors left so I could tell immediately the breakfast time rush had some good picks. I had a savory and a sweet. I went back to get another savory for my drive home... just delicious (jalapeño bacon and a cheese (pepper jack?). My goodness just yummy. Recommended by someone I know who lives in Winfield. I'm so happy I stopped when I was in the area. Cute inside, plenty of seating in and out. You can park in back and walk through or walk around to front of bakery. Scones, this is all they do and that's what makes them different. They have hot drinks as well. Plenty of flavors, sweet and savory. And they are only $3-25-3.75 a piece! I felt a little guilty so I just boggy more to throw in the freezer. I got the chocolate chip and pumpkin. Both were scrumpch. Unfortunately none made it to the freezer in our house. So I'll have to go back and get more of the other flavors! Check them out and support local and spread the word. I love this husband and wife operation. They have tons of scones to choose from, both sweet and savory. My husband started off with pineapple upside down scone, and I had the cappuccino scone. We also shared a jalapeño cheddar. These were excellent! We went in for round two and he got the cinnamon roll scone and a white chocolate cranberry. These scones have more of a cakey texture than a biscuity texture , so they're a little more moist than some other scones out there--perfect with a piping hot cup of fresh coffee.
