Southern Hoe Cakes were pretty good. Cornmeal pancakes with tomato gravy. Service was awesome, starting with the hostess stand, and taken to another level with bartenders, as they were well versed in the menu and accommodating with your requests. read more

Amazing atmosphere and even better service. The food was fresh and cooked perfectly to order. We are visiting from North Carolina and had some of the best grits and blueberry muffins. You need to try the homemade jams as well. The strawberry basil and peach habanero were our favorites. If we are back in Montgomery, this is a definite stop. read more

Great experience, Josh was very attentive. We ordered FGT Benedict, traditional Benedict, and pawpaws breakfast. Came out fast and delicious. Sweet potato fries where excellent. Restaurant was clean. read more

Just arrived to Montgomery, AL, and I a so excited to get my rental and go straight to Bubbly Hen for some Eggs Benedict with Fried Green Tomatoes. It blew me away!! I cannot resist a good Eggs Benedict even though I'm pescatarian. It definitely is a treat that can be forgiven while eating it during Lent season (I ate bacon on a Friday, lol). I might just try the crab cake Benedict's today. We'll see... read more

For starters, it took 10 to 12 minutes before a waiter brought a menu or a water. And the restaurant was only at third capacity. I ordered an orange juice and eggs Benedict. Six bucks for a half glass of orange juice. The eggs, Benedict eggs overcooked, and the entire dish was cold. That was 30 minutes after placing the order. It's mind blowing how hit or miss some places are with overall moderate to high ratings (79%). This place is certainly not worth your time and certainly not worth your money. choose this place at your own risk. To wrap, I did not pay for the meal that was cold and did not eat upon being served. And I only paid half price for the $6.00 half glass of OJ. read more

Bubbly Hen is nice. The food was great and very tasty. The area is pretty clean and in a safe environment. The movie theater is right next door which is a huge bonus. There is plenty of parking outside. It's very loud inside the restaurant. This used to be a pizza place and I think when they removed some of the equipment out of the restaurant it through off the acoustics. When it was a pizza place it was never this loud. Also the food was very expensive for the portion size that you were getting. I would come again, but this wouldn't be my weekly spot for breakfast or brunch. For the level of value vs price it would be a monthly visit kind of place. read more

We came to eat here for the first time today at 11:42 am and were told there'd be a 30 minute wait. We waited and got a text at 12:14 saying our table was ready. Our server didn't know what kind or brand of sodas they had and had to go back to the machine to check. We ordered, he came back about five minutes later telling us one of the dishes we had asked for was unavailable. After getting that fixed, we had to wait about 50 minutes for our food to arrive. It was cold. The restaurant was well-decorated, but very cold. Our sodas weren't carbonated well and the Dr. Pepper tasted off. The Hearty Hash was very soggy. It was cheap, but not worth it. We won't be returning here. read more

Definitely will not be coming back here again. Food was mediocre at best. I'm a terrible cook, but I easily could've and should've just made it myself at home. Everything came out cold, but the service is what irked me. After taking our order, the waitress didn't come to our table the entire time. Then had the audacity to shout from another table to ask if we wanted one check.. while we were still eating. She was giving all kinds of attitude, not sure if she was just having a bad day or what. read more

This is a great little cafe/restaurant. We stopped in on a Sunday morning and sat at the bar (there was a wait for a table). The server was great at explaining the menu and brunch cocktails. I had the three meat omelet with a side of cheddar grits and cold brew coffee as my drink. It was all delicious! My wife had the spinach and feta omelet with a side of sweet potato hash and her drink was a pecan old fashion. All of it was delicious, including the drink. We got the recipe for the drink! Our server was attentive - and so was the rest of the staff. Overall, an excellent dining experience. Definitely recommend the Bubbly Hen! read more

My experience at The Bubbly Hen was horrible on 04-26-2025. My friend and I ordered our food. 45 minutes later, still no food. My friend went inside and talked to our hostess. She comes out to tell us that we came during the busy hour and it took a steak (smaller than the palm of my hand) to cook much longer because I wanted it well done. I grill steaks all the time! No way it took that long, or it would have been burnt to a crisp. About 20 seconds later our food comes out and it's lukewarm! Apparently, the food sat waiting for some time before it was served. This will be my first and last time going. read more

Server was kind and walked us through the menu. Food was very basic and felt rushed. Omelette was broken in several places and French toast was just okay. Some fresh fruit would've been great with it. The London fog tea was the best part of the meal. read more

Service was awesome but food was subpar and ambiance was sadly neglected. One of the many items we ordered was a crab benny and crab was so smelly we couldn't eat it. Dead plants inside and out. Loved the concept and it was probably awesome at one point but needs some TLC with ingredients and ambiance. read more

Bubbly Hen - Breakfast Quesadilla with grits and sweet potatoes - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Montgomery, Alabama

This place was great! Food was excellent. Service was excellent. Great atmosphere. Will definitely go back.

We just enjoyed an amazing brunch @Bubbly Hen. The atmosphere is amazing! The decor so fun and chic. We tried the tomato pesto flatbread as an app last time and it was amazing! This time we had the fried green tomato BLT and the biscuits and gravy! It was amazing! We both had the cheesy grits and they are the best I've ever had! 10/10 would recommend! The manager, David, is a hustle machine!! He is awesome. Cheyenne and Donnie were at the bar and treated us great! I had a pineapple mimosa, yum! Hubs had the old fashioned and said it was great! If you don't try this place it's your loss! read more

If you're looking to waste your time, money, and patience, Bubbly Hen is your one-stop disaster. Drinks took *50 full minutes* that's nearly an hour of sitting with empty water glasses and no updates. The drinks just so happened to come AFTER the food. Which mind you, was mediocre as hell. Not even worth the wait. Our server, Diana, Dena, or whatever her name was, was dismissive, slow, and outright rude. No apology, no effort to refill waters, and when we (very politely) questioned the terrible service, she had the audacity to *deny anything was wrong*, as if we hallucinated the entire nightmare. It took **three complaints** before they comped *anything* and only then did they act like they were doing us a favor. The manager was even worse: smug, confrontational, and refused to remove gratuity despite us explicitly requesting it due to unacceptable service. Apparently at Bubbly Hen, bad service comes with a mandatory tip. This place is a textbook case of what happens when no one in charge gives a damn. Bubbly Hen doesn't deserve your business, your brunch plans, or your patience. Skip it unless you're craving disappointment and overpriced eggs. read more

Food was just okay. The bloody Mary's took 40 minutes and we tried to cancel them. The lady, who I assume was a manager, said "it says on the menu they're made to order" and brought them to us AFTER our food came out. Seriously doubt I would return just because of her attitude alone. read more

The food was delicious once it arrived but the service was slow. Arrived at 9:15 only one couple in line in front of us. Took nearly 10 minutes to get to a table. Finally ordered about 15 minutes later and food arrived about 10:15. Only 4 people at the table The service seemed very in coordinated. Not the place to go if you are in a hurry. read more

The menu looks amazing, but don't let that pull you in . The wait time was ridiculous. The attitude of the staff was not necessary. We were at this restaurant from 11 to 1:30 . The food and service was mediocre to down right non- existent. During the long wait for food or drinks ; the staff could have come out to apologize or explain , but had to flag them down Dow refills on drinks. The food was not worth the wait or the expense . I tried to give some feedback, but was met with defensive, non apologetic attitude. I paid the full bill ; not even a thank you . Don't waste your time or money . read more

Great food and service, we went for brunch and we were very satisfied with both service and quality of food.

Delicious food and great service! I had my dog with me so we sat on the patio. They even brought her a water bowl!

I throughly enjoyed the food variety at the Bubbly Hen! Fresh ingredients in almost every dish my husband and I selected. All items seemed to be homemade right on the premises and the taste was phenomenal! I especially enjoyed their fresh beet juice...it was very refreshing. Give this venue a try, guaranteed you will come back for more! read more

Food was pretty bad. The Pecan old fashioned was good. Server was new and being trained and was really nice. It has a nice atmosphere. Definitely need to fix the kitchen that was shameful. read more

Today I visited the Bubbly Hen for the first time. The food was good, a little over priced, but very tasty. The Bill-E Bacon appetizer is delicious but HORRIBLY TINY for the price, two small cuts of bacon on top of two tiny pieces of bread. The omelette was very good (that I had) and the avocado toast was also good (that my father had). We drank water and our check was still around $50. I'd give it 5 stars if we didn't have to wait just over an hour to get a table and then spend $50 on about $30 worth of food. If you have all day to wait and unlimited funds, this place is for you. read more

I came with a large party yesterday (well I have 6 kids so it is always a large party) - knowing we would have to wait on a Saturday during football season. The wait, surprisingly, was not that bad, and there was plenty of outdoor seating and indoor seating to do so. Some of us went to the bar to get drinks while we waited, which was a huge help. We went on a Pop-Up Saturday where local small businesses can sign up and sell their goods on the Patio. This weekend was plants, and the people selling their plants were so nice and very informative. Every table was full except a few outside tables. We were seated at a high top where I could see the kitchen with relative ease. They are moving non- stop - so it was exciting to watch. It was bustling, but not loud, which I was worried about with the high ceilings. I could easily hear the conversation down the table. Our server was very nice, took our orders, added our drink orders from the bar to our bills, and checked on us regularly with updates and take more cocktail and coffee orders. They have an amazing iced shaken espresso with caramel that my daughter got which was so good. She said, "No more Starbucks for me," as this drink was almost half the price. They had a great whiskey selection, and then some hard-to-find Crown options like Blackberry. They have a massive juicer and make the juices from scratch so I got the Tropic-Kale, and it was so flavorful. When the food came, we were all excited. Being able to watch the fresh food being made was super cool too. Their waffle iron is so cute - and the kids loved how thick they were - not spongy and fake looking, but thick and moist. Definitely not thin and limp like a WH waffle. My husband got the chilaquiles, and let me tell you, the chilis and salsa verde is made from scratch and tasted so so fresh. The avocado was firm but not hard, and the crema was a cool contrast to the spice. My favorite is the Fried Green Tomato BLT with asparagus. The sandwich is massive - the bacon is crispy, the tomatoes are cooked to perfection. I love their asparagus - never stringy, and always seasoned well. I always eat half for brunch and have the other half of my sandwich for dinner. Bestie got the 3-Meat Omelet which was HUGE. It literally can't close all of the way, and the egg splits from the weight of it coming off the frying pan. The girls got the Creme Brule French Toast and they loved it. The shrimp and grits were massive and smelled divine, and the quesadilla came with their fresh salsa and we all tried it with a spoon. There is something about the contrast between the sweet, spicy, creamy pieces of the quesadilla that made every bite a little bit different. Definitely enough food for two people. My favorite part of the experience was the fact that you can buy jars of their fresh jams and honey options and or bags of their coffee and grits. Apparently, they try to locally source all of their food when possible. Pretty great. read more

Bubbly Hen never disappoints. The food is prepared beautifully, the menu offers local and international favorites (the banana bread and shakshouka are first rate), and the ambiance is interesting but not stuffy. You might have a bit of a wait during peak hours, but the food is more than worth it. If you're tired of chain breakfast fare and want a quality experience, Bubbly Hen is a must. read more

The cocktails were amazing - my favorite is the Notorious FIG and the Build Your Own Bloody Mary menu.
