First sip I did taste the strong espresso; however after mixing it was pretty smooth and tasty. Throughout the afternoon I felt the caffeine level decreasing. So adequate for a short pick me up, not recommended to get you through the rest of your day. Cafe was cute & aesthetic, parking is available on the side of the streets and in the back!

On this weekday I came for the Jasmine Milk Tea. Last time this was under the Tea Latte section, but they menu changed and there is now a dedicated Milk Tea section. And also there is a Jasmine Latte with Espresso in it, but that is under the Espresso section. I was able to get it chilled but without ice. The lowest sweetness level was 50%, but I asked nicely and they estimated they could make a 25% for me. It turned out wonderfully, extremely floral, barely any sweetness so the Jasmine aroma and taste were the dominant ones. In the food side I selected the popcorn chicken. I can take some heat but only a small bit, so I asked for the spice powder in the side. I just looove the texture of the popcorn chicken. You can see in the picture that it's a very thin breading, almost not there, but the texture seems almost as if an invisible rice flour was tossed in the outside. Still juicy in the inside, and small pieces to make every bite pop-able. The chicken comes with a ranch sauce, though to me it's a second thought. Add a hint of spice or even have the chicken as is, no ranch is needed.

I was later offered a free drink if I emailed them 24 hours in advance. I'll give an extra star for the offer, but no thanks. After getting sick and having such a bad experience, I don't understand why I'd willingly come back for another drink.

I have been seeing this cafe daily when going to and from my son's school for pick up and am glad we were able to stop by and give it a try today! The shop is located in charming Old Town Sierra Madre area and has a lovely store front. Location itself is okay sized but their is limited seating available currently which could change considering this is a "soft opening." Parking is easily found within fair distance and the ambiance is very relaxed inside. Upon entering we were greeted and the employee took the time to tell us about the different pastries available. There was a man making pastries that was visible as wel which my son and some other kids found entertaining The drink menu had a variety of tea and coffee options. ordered an iced honey latte with oat milk which I founo very refreshing and lightly sweetened. My son had a tea that he was okay with (he likes things very sweet) and l'd likely just get him a pastry and glass of water next time We both had pastries: my son had a fruit tart he really enjoyed and said the creamy part tasted of banana. I enjoyed the croissants with honey cream and peaches on top which was delectable. I made sure to let the employees know everything was amazing and cannot wait to see their full menu sometime in October. We will definitely be back and tell friends about the place. read more

If you're in the area near PCC, don't miss out on Bubble Puff--it's right across the street and run by two alumni who clearly put a lot of love into their business. I love the drinks, food, and space here! I've visited twice - both on Saturday afternoon. The store has a lot of seats so it's great for anyone who wants to find a place and chill. Their menu has a wide selection - all kinds of teas and snacks. My personal recommendation is the popcorn chicken. It tastes so fresh and juicy! For anyone looking for sweets, their egg puff is a must try. For drinks, I enjoyed the Boba milk tea with the wheat black tea. It has a thicker taste and a nice aroma compared to normal black tea. Waited for 40 minutes just for 1 drink. So short handed with just 2 people running cashier, drink station, and waffle station! Such a waste of of my time. Their bubble puffs are amazing!! I had strawberry ice cream bubble puff ( got the chocolate flavor waffle) and my friend also got the strawberry ice cream bubble puff but she had mochi flavor waffle. Both were so good! Next time will come back to try the waffle with fillings! read more

The employees working were very pleasant and efficient, the decor inside is actually pretty conductive to sitting down and hanging out, and there's both a small parking lot shared with Afters Ice Cream as well as (at least in the day) plenty of street parking. Note that if you street park, some of the curbs are pretty high. And as so many of their competitors lack any place to sit and enjoy your drink, we greatly appreciated that HOJI Tea Community helped to facilitate this. 3.5 stars, tempted to round up, but being that off on the tapioca makes rounding up rough for me.

The barista makes the matcha right there in front of you using the traditional Japanese bamboo whisk so you know the matcha is authentic and fresh. You can opt for different sweetness level. I recommend the strawberry match and they also said the eispanner (whipped cream) is popular. Easy public parking around the corner on Fair Oaks/Green St or Raymond. I didn't see any hojicha or food. Matcha latte ($7.50): it was not a large drink but it was done well enough. Whole milk with hand-whisked matcha, no sugar added. The drink tasted a bit powdery though. It was also grassy. There are three small tables inside.

Charcoal taste with oolong tea, milk, and a bit of brown sugar is definitely a new taste for me. Not my cup of tea at the moment. The color mix is best for picture but give it a mix and the drink becomes full charcoal color. 5/10. I'd also say that their speciality drinks cups are pretty unique. I personally love the potion type gimmick although I'm not sure what the sizing of it is like compared to your standard cups. It's pretty sturdy and reusable as well. The coffee is first rate. The chocolate chip scone I had was crispy and wonderful. (Thank goodness they only had one left or I would have had two!) The coffees they featured on the day I was there were Maple Oat and a Sweet and Salty PB (peanut butter) Latte. If those drinks are as good as the mocha they made me, they should be great. My server, Onyx, was very friendly and welcoming -- and was a quick beverage maker. And other staff seemed nice as well. I would happily come to a show early to allow me time to visit here. (I live an hour from here, so, sadly, I won't be haunting their patio.)

Instead, I got an Americano. The ordering process is either traditional face to face or completely self-service on a touchscreen. I tried touch screen & there was literally zero human interaction--until my name was called to pick up my drink. And yet, the screen still politely asked me if I wanted to leave a tip. Tip for what exactly? My exceptional ability to operate a touchscreen? And after picking up my nearly $9 coffee, there was no "thank you," no "have a great day," not even a polite nod of acknowledgment. Just me, my Americano, and the realization that I apparently just paid luxury pricing for a very average coffee experience. The coffee was good. The storefront is cute. The seating is nice. But good enough to justify $8.95? Unfortunately, no.
