Our favorite bubble tea place closed down in Hillsboro and we were lost on what to do. We then found Bubble Bubble Tea. The staff is always friendly and smiling which is awesome. This place was a little different compared to the other place we went so the first time we went we were not sure what to order. The lady working walked us through the WHOLE menu. In the end we both found a drink that we love. The wait can be longer depending on how many people are the shop and have ordered. I've been a frequent customer over the years and it's become increasingly worse each time. This place used to have the best bubble tea but they've recently started charging more for extra flavor while reducing the amount of flavor that goes into the base drink. This would be fine if the drink was cheap, but they're already charging 3.50/4.00 for the 16oz/20oz. The wait times have also become longer and they always run out of flavors or bubbles (but really... how does a bubble tea place run out of bubbles?!) On my last two visits to this location, I got the 16oz yogurt smoothie with no bubbles. Both times, there was so little flavor put into the drink it was literally just blended ice. This place always has a line, which is surprising. My guess is that management is trying to boost sales by being stingy, but I probably won't be back. read more

I didn't understand their milk tea concept and my friend suggested I get it without the milk, so I decided on a melon? flavor green tea. This place was the closest Boba place to my hotel while i was in town and it was a good 10/15 min drive. I new it wasn't going to be the best, but i didnt care. I was definitely right. I'm re-writing my review after having had a decent amount of experience with this place. The place itself is neat and has comfortable seating. There's only one girl I've met here that I actually like because she is always extremely helpful and kind in offering ideas on what to get. The rest of the employees are kind of distant or lacking connection with their customers and I've not been very impressed. It's somewhat expensive. If you don't specify you want the smaller size you automatically get the bigger, more expensive one. The bubble tea itself is sickening its so sweet. I've had them make a custom order avocado smoothie (which is my favorite thing to get at bubble tea joints on the regular) and it pretty much tasted like water. The boba, however, almost always has a rad consistency and is pretty tasty. It's frustrating because it really depends on who you get how awesome your drink will be. It is the only bubble tea joint in the area, so that's neat, but really... drive to Portland if you want the real deal. read more

The one star is for decoration and the second is for friendly service. While the inside of the store was cute, the drinks were not good. My friend and I thought we would try some place new and greatly regret coming here. I got a Honey Green Milk Tea which was alright, slightly bland and even though I ordered boba they barely put any in there. My friend ordered the Almond Green Milk Tea and she could still feel the powder when she drank it because they hadn't bothered to even mix the drinks before giving them to us. I understand that powders were used, there was a shelf of flavored powders on the counter, but I was disappointed that they hadn't even bothered to mix the tea with the powders enough to dissolve. There was more ice than tea and resulted in a watered down drink upon first sip. Watered down and powdery is not how I want my milk tea to taste. For the same price, I'd rather go to ShareTea, Milk+T, MoCha Teahouse or even Ding Tea which is farther out in Portland. Sorry but we won't be coming back here. The tea was spot on for a hot summer day and the balls were soft and chewy but a little on the small side. The only complaint I have about this place is that they didn't give me enough ammunition to go along with my tea. How far can you spit a tapioca ball? This is the one spot my husband and I go to. Perhaps it's just proximity to where we live, but we really like their hot milk teas. They use a non-dairy creamer (shout out to lactose or vegan friends!!) in the milk teas and have about 20 flavors you can choose from. After a long active day, it is a refreshing drink. Weird to call a hot drink "refreshing," but it is how I would describe it. I especially enjoy coming here because of one of their employees. She is very nice and I like her dry humor. And I like seeing all the different hair colors or nail colors that she goes through. Finally, they carry the Mercury, which is a plus. This WAS our go to boba joint for years until now. We ordered our usual, Kona Mocha snow bubble with boba and an Avocado snow bubble with boba. They should've told us the avocado wasn't ripe instead of making it, watching us throw it away and go back it to order something different. When we walked back in he even said "welcome back!" I used to love this bubble tea spot. I grew up drinking bubble tea here. It's just not the same. The new staff are inconsistent with making the drinks. Sometimes it taste great and most of the time there is no taste. Also there is a tall woman that works there who is a little intimidating. I'm a self-proclaimed horrible bubble tea snob. But I have to admit, they do a pretty decent job on the tea. The varieties are plentiful so there will be something for everyone. They are very accommodating and don't hesitate to customize it to your taste. For example this trip, I wanted the standard tea, and my friend wanted something less sweet, so they quickly offered to back off the flavoring a bit for her tea. It all worked out perfectly. The decor is bright, colorful and neat. The price point is average to what I've been charged elsewhere...between 3.50 and 4.50. They are, however, a bit stingy on the tapioca balls and jelly pieces, so for that, I could't give them five stars. For a little less, in Seattle, where I typically haunt, I pay 3.50 for my boba tea and get about double the amount of tapioca and jelly. Bubble tea is the best in interactive drinking, but unfortunately, chewing doesn't burn enough calories to justify making this a frequent visit for me. :) Bubble tea is packed with sugary goodness, so watch your boba! read more

I've always had a soft spot in my heart for bubble tea. I was introduced to it in California and I think due to that reason, I will never be truly satisfied with anything I find here. That being said, I've been going to this Bubble Bubble location for a couple of years. I started going after my favorite bubble tea location (Blue Sky) closed down. I have mixed feelings about this place; usually the employees are pretty nice, they're fast and they have a large range of options to chose from. But on the other hand, their bubbles are not always consistent (agreeing with whoever said they stick together), their teas do tend to taste very artificial, and they are kinda pricey. But I feel that overall for the slim-pickings that are in Beaverton, Bubble Bubble gets the job done. At least enough to keep me coming back. read more

This was on the way back to Portland so we decided to stop by and refuel. I ordered a red bean slushie with lychee (my immediate go-to) and what I sipped was most certainly not what I ordered. I tasted no red bean - just powder and lots o' sugar. It was quite disappointing to have your favorite drink of all time just flop because nothing in it tasted authentic. Bubble Bubble tea was my introduction to the entire Boba concept. I've been a fan of theirs since their first location was out on Union in Hillsboro about a decade ago. A large group of us would come down to get Boba and Subway for lunch. Since then I've certainly cheated and tried other Boba places. I have found that I don't like the powdered drinks as much. I have found that Bubble Bubble's Jasmine Green Tea base is my favorite type of tea. And I've found that there is a huge difference in the quality of the "bubbles" and it can depend on how old they are and how long they've been sitting around. My only wish is that I'd like more choices in flavors. Maybe some berry, Asian Pear, or "flavor of the month" options. Either way, Bubble Bubble Tea continues to be my guilty pleasure, only offset by the fact that I usually walk the mile it takes to get down here. read more

My usual order is a matcha bubble tea with boba -- it's a nice way to pretend I'm being somewhat healthy, thanks to the matcha. Service here is usually very quick, and the staff is always pretty friendly. My one gripe is that the matcha in my drink isn't always completely dissolved, but that's more of an issue with my specific order than it is indicative of a larger issue at the place itself. I was meaning to write a review on this place, but kept forgetting. However, I'm sitting here at the Beaverton City library and someone sitting nearby me reminded me of this place. The person left the library and came back probably in 10 mins with a boba drink. so my guess is that she got it nearby at Bubble Bubble Tea on Beavton Hillsdale. My guess is accurate because what grabbed my attention was that she kept spitting out the tapioca balls on a paper towel -- and that reminded me, this place serves rock hard tapioca balls. You'd have to microwave them at home to get the same tapioca balls other bubble tea places serve. Instead of finding rocks for my slingshot, I'm going to collect those circular black orbs and use those for ammo. read more

The tall woman who works there kicked me and my friend out early even though they don't close until 10 pm. She said they were closing in 10 min at 9:30 pm and when another customer came in, she told him they were open till 10 pm. I understand that workers want to go home on time. I would too, but there should be some consistency in what you tell customers. I decided to give them another chance and I ordered a lavender milk tea with mango jelly and she put regular boba in it. Living in Hawaii and Cali, I know what good boba is. Portland doesn't have many places other than Bubble Bubble, Fat Straw, Tea Bar, and Little Boba Truck. So far, bubble bubble is one of my favorites in Oregon. They don't cheat you. They give a lot of milk tea and boba with minimal ice, unlike Fat Straw. The taste is pretty good. Also, the prices are very reasonable. I personally like Little Boba Truck also, but with their seasonal schedule it's hard to go there. So far, I've ordered original milk tea, strawberry milk tea, coffee milk tea, and strawberry snow bubble. All have been great. We come here every weekend. read more

Being from California, I'm pretty picky about boba. But moving to Southeastern Washington, boba is hard to come by. So everytime I'm in the PDX area, I have to get boba. I got the Almond Milk Tea and Taro Snow Bubble. The Almond Milk Tea was a little too sweet. You can really taste the almond syrup. But after the ice melted a little bit, it was great. The Taro was good, blended perfectly. Not watery, not overly sweet. The boba was soft and chewy. So no complaints here. The decor is bland, but doesn't matter. As long as the drinks and boba are good. Only been here once, and pretty happy with my visit. read more
