Great food ie blackened grouper, hush puppies, fried oyster, flounder. Great atmosphere for the beach with big fans and large picnic tables with paper towel rolls on the table. Great service too! Food was delicious and fast. Most of their menu is fried but they do it well. We got the cod basket, grouper finger basket and clam strip basket. We upgraded and got the sweet potatoe waffle fries. I had hushpuppies, calamari, and mussels. Fine except the mussels were pretty horrendous. I'm inclined to believe they accidentally doubled the amount of salt that should have gone in, and I regret now not telling the waitress that someone else should have a taste to be sure. She also dropped garlic mussel broth on the back and front of my shirt as she brought our food. I guess she did not notice as she did not apologize. I didn't realize until I returned home. I honestly would not recommend this place to anyone. It's just like every other "beach shack" type establishment, so maybe consider trying another. read more

All the food is extremely salty. Great signature cocktails at only $6 apiece with a very generous pour.

First, realize this is not fine dining. The food is served on wax paper in plastic baskets. However, the food ranges from decent to surprisingly good. Sometimes they skimp on lettuce and tomato for the sandwiches and the food seems like it is thrown together quickly - which it is. Drinks are reasonable. You get a view of the ocean from the balcony and service is usually quick. The food is good for what the place is - cheap, decent and near the beach. By the way, it is a Divine Group restaurant so it feels a little chain-ish, but all told it is worth a trip if you are nearby. read more

I love Bubba's! Whenever I'm in Surfside, I have to stop here at least once. Their fried green tomatoes are awesome. I'm not usually a fan of southern style, fry everything seafood, but their catfish is amazing; my favorite item on the menu. I was little nervous about this place but boy, was this place a gem. I have gone twice this year and the food and service was exceptional both times. I have tried and really liked the fried calamari, green tomatoes, pickles and wings. The sweet tea is the thing to get drink. My absolute favorite dinner is the Grilled chicken salad. It's enormous and delicious. Cannot recommend this place enough. Do not forget to leave your mark, literally. Before you go, many a patron have signed their name in the waiting area. Great food, affordable prices! We visit the beach often because we have a vacation home there. While we love to go to the seafood buffets, they can be extremely overpriced! Bubba's is the type of place regulars keep secret! It is close to the beach with a great menu spanning everything from flounder to po'boys to wings! The food is fresh and seasoned well. This is the place to go when you want seafood without breaking the bank on a 30$ buffet! Good to know: the restaurant is upstairs, so if you or a loved one can't walk up a flight, consider ordering ahead and getting it to-go. read more

I was so glad we left the typical $30 buffet place and went for Bubba's! The waitress was great, food was delicious, and reasonably priced! We enjoyed the fried pickles (so delicious), a giant portion of shrimp which were fresh and tasty. Would highly recommend. Seafood was out of this world good!!! Not that greasy fried junk you get from Long John Silvers or Captain D's, but good ol' fried fish with excellent fries and hush puppies!! We come to surfside every 4th of July. Bubba's is one of places we go every year because it is close and has great food. This is a great local place that has great atmosphere. They have really good burgers and fish. My favorite thing to get at Bubba's is the fried catfish. Just one piece of catfish is plenty of food for me. The fish is so good. I also really enjoy the hush puppies in their amazing honey butter. Here's a little secret; the sauce that come with the fried green tomatoes is great on their French fries(your welcome).If your ever in the area you need to stop at Bubba's and enjoy great food and great service read more

Delicious! We came here while on vacation, our first night. A tiny wait for our table but well worth it. Calamari and catfish were amazing.

Mediocre. None of the fish is local. Our server apologized for the slowness as he said they only had half the staff the night we were there. I am sorry but I could only manage half the tip because of that. Unlikely to go back. read more

Bubba's Fish Shack is a cool little fish house that would be on the beach if not for some vacation rental home in the way. The food was great! The raw oysters were some of the biggest and best I had ever eaten. I had blacked grouper it was good, next time I would get it deep fried. My wife had a flounder sandwich with fried green tomatoes it is worth every penny. Bubba's has a really good vibe and the waitress we had was so friendly and attentive. Give it a try, I don't think you will be disappointed. read more

This is probably one of the worst restaurants I have experienced in the Myrtle beach area. First, I ordered a half dozen oysters and I received 5 and one empty shell.... Second, my entree arrived and it was not complete.... To top it off, the clam strips I ordered were extremely undercooked leaving the breading the consistency of pancake batter which is unacceptable. read more

We went to Bubba's on the 9th of September. I ordered the barbque platter and my husband ordered the clam platter. There was enough food on one platter for two. My family and I have been going to Bubbas for years! Just went there the other night and got really yummy food! They were busy but we didn't have to wait too long for a table. Second time visiting. My mom and I both had the crab cake platter, which was delicious! It was served with a Cajun mayo that was great on the crab cakes, coleslaw, fries, and dense, sweet hush puppies. The atmosphere is pleasant, the staff friendly, and the prices very reasonable for seafood. Outside under the deck are a series of porch swings to sit on while you wait for your table. They were all full when we got there, so we sat on the log fence by the road instead. There was a nice breeze coming off the ocean and it was all in all a good, relaxing night. read more
