We walked down to have seafood. There was a 30 wait but other patrons were saying it was worth it for their food. We ordered Poboys that came with coleslaw and fries. We ordered a side of hush puppies. The slaw was delivered warm and tasted old so we didn't eat it. The fries were cold and a mixture of limp and hard. The Remoulade sauce over the shrimp in the Poboys was so salty it burned your lips. All said, the hush puppies were the only thing good! Don't recommend this place! read more

Food: The salads were really bad, one was even taken off the bill. The sea food was amazing! We had both blacken and fried Mahi-mahi, both were great. The Shrimp Po-Boy was by far the best! After ordering four lunches For our family I felt compelled to write this review. My husband ordered an oyster platter which he was happy with. My brother-in-law and sister-in-law ordered popcorn shrimp And flounder baskets that they were happy with. However I ordered flounder and gulf shrimp and was disappointed basically in the size of the shrimp which were no larger than the popcorn shrimp - not at all what I expect from gulf shrimp. I called the manager and he apologized and said they are having trouble with their suppliers and the size of the shrimp and unfortunately it is the customer that has to suffer! No offer of a refund free appetizer or any other compensation! Don't spend the extra for gulf shrimp from this joint! And the tables are not socially distanced either!! BEWARE!!! read more

The outdoor seating here is great. Great place to hang out for a nice evening. Get here early, because many people walk or ride their golf cart around 5-6. We got here around 4:30, which was perfect timing. Quickly went from a 10 minute wait to an hour wait. Lots of fried items on the menu. We had a party of 7, so we tried quite a variety. We were around Surfside by the pier and saw this place and decided to give it a try. And I am glad we did. I really liked the food here and the prices were great for the beach. The staff was friendly and it had a nice beach decor. Lots of fish choices I got the grouper nuggets and my kids got the popcorn shrimp and we loved it. We had such a fantastic experience at Bubba's for lunch. We went on a Monday around noon and it wasn't crowded at all. Hillary, our waitress, was the absolute sweetest person ever! Warm, friendly, and funny. The atmosphere is beachy and kitschy. We had great raw oysters- huge size, briny, and fresh. Served with all the fixings- lemons, crackers, hot sauce, fresh horseradish. I had the fires oyster basket. I love fried oysters and these may be the best I ever had. They don't look big in the picture, but that is because they are breaded perfectly and are mostly oyster. Bubba's is so fun! Really yummy food at decent prices because you know it's fresh. Staff was super friendly and changed the TV for us at the bar so we could enjoy some soccer. We got he Thai chili shrimp (yum!!!!), hush puppies, crab appetizer, fries and fried fish platter--that was def enough for 3 people (prob too much but we ate it anyway!!). A nicer beer was $4 years which is def less than I expected for a touristy area. Over all was super happy with everything and we're already planning our second trip back. read more

I love this place! Nothing fancy, but the best fried catfish and flounder in town! Very friendly service. I live close by and eat there at least twice a week. The portions are huge. They were a little over-processed for my taste. With all the food we ordered, I was sort of glad the fries weren't that good because we were too stuffed to finish them anyway. Our server's tone of voice, body language, and over-all customer service was poor; she seemed annoyed and frustrated with our family. Another family was seated 5 minutes to 9:30pm (time the kitchen closes) and they were treated kinder, better than us. It felt like our server didn't want to serve our table specifically. After a morning on the Beach in Sunset Beach ,NC and a little shopping we drove to Surfside Beach,SC Checked into our place for the week and we headed to the Beach! After having a drink across the street we spotted Bubba's Fish Shack ! And of course we were starving!! We we seated right away ! At a table in the middle of the room ( I hate that but say there anyway) our server was Randy (lol wrote his name on the Brown paper that covered the table ) nice smile and quick with suggestions. He only ordered fish and sweet potato fries since he's gluten intolerant. So he was still hungry, I had nasty cold soggy fries, tasted the cold slaw and thought I was going to throw up. It literally tasted like spoiled old milk! I never leave a bad review but this made me so mad. We haven't been on vacation since Christmas and the first place we get for dinner is disgusting. The calamari was also soggy/cold.
