The food is always good, besides the occasional burnt crust on the pizza. The atmosphere is always fun and I like watching the music videos and various channels they have of all the tvs. The only thing I would improve would be the service. Cute chain sports bar with inside and outside seating and many televisions tuned in to several types of entertainment. The patio is dog friendly although we didn't have our dogs. We sat the bar and our bartender Alexia was super attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. I order the south of the border burger topped with pepper jack cheese, chorizo, lettuce and tomato sans the bun. I opted for coleslaw instead of fries and I at last minute a half order of onion rings to split with my husband who ordered Cajun chicken wings. The food came out fairly quickly. I was super impressed with my Burger although I couldn't eat it all, the coleslaw was creamy and plentiful, my husband's wings were just how he liked them. What we were most impressed with were the onion rings. They were hand cut and breaded in house, and the breading was light and airy and cooked to perfection, and it came with a side of their Bubba sauce, which was really good as well. Great food and great portions for the price. Kids food was good so our son was happy, they have a variety of choices. Burgers, shrimp, chicken, salads, and the pizza is AMAZING! The large is HUGE and we couldn't have gotten better pizza anywhere else, I know that's weird for a place that isn't strictly pizza but it's unforgettable pizza! My family and I stayed in a hotel in Waco for three weeks, so we didn't have a choice really but to order take out. This is by far one of the best places to eat in Waco. We never expected a burger place to have such excellently cooked food, but we were pleasantly surprised...such that we ate there 3 times in 4 days. The fish and chips were flaky and not overcooked. The flavored lemonades are very good but... The last couple times we went, the food was extremely salty to the point of being unbearable. Even though we had requested easy on the salt on one occasion, it still turned out to be so heavily salted that we could barely eat it. My husband and I really like Bubba's, it's one of our go-to places in Waco. However, I am EXTREMELY sad that they got rid of the cherry cola bacon appetizer! It was literally one of the main reasons why I liked eating there!! Still love their food, but I wish they would bring it back. Sunday afternoon...before we head to HEB Plus in Waco to load our daughter up in groceries for her new apartment this semester we decided to drop in on this place which had a slew of cars in its lot! The sign looked inviting and the Yelp reviews were generally pretty positive! As we walked in we noticed a passle of folks waiting for their table and the restaurant hopping with business! Big screen TVs all around broadcasting sports events and some retro classic rock videos the ambience was lively! After getting seated after a short wait we were greeted by an enthusiastic waiter in training who then proceeded to enlighten me about the fantastic burgers and other offerings in the place! Sensing his interest in the menu was inviting so we proceeded to order and the overall consensus was that the service...the food was all good! We got seated promptly. Was treated courteously by our waiter and the food came out quickly! Generous portions! You have to try the Sunshine Burger...topped off with a fried egg this burger was a winner! We come to bubbas all the time because the food and service is always great. However. This time was not the case. We were sat without silverware. We ordered the queso and when it arrived to the table the food runner slammed the chips down and spilled salsa all over the chips. By time we got all the chips ontop the whole bottom was soggy. We asked for more chips when they were brought to the table since our server was standing at the table when the queso arrived. Our server catered to the bigger families at around us. She came back and we had to ask for more chips again. When the side salad came out we still had no silverware. We ended up having to get the silverware from upfront ourselves. Our server came back when the salad was finished and said she couldn't bring us chips since she was waiting on expo to pass them through. Then after waiting for a good amount of time again the chips came out and the queso was completely cold and the meals followed out right after. We sent the queso back since it was completely cold and never saw our server again until we were completely done eating. We never got refills until the every end when we were checking out. Then we were charged for the queso anyways. We did ask for it to be removed and it was. Very disappointing since it is never like this. read more

I went there for the first time. Service, amazing. The man was so nice to us. I love the appetizer which was fries. I was going to give it a five stars until we got to dinner. I got boneless mild wings and everyone else got sandwiches and fries. They said that the sandwiches we super salty and when they got to the fries, they said someone must have put half a bottle of salt in the fries. They said this is a two star place. The menu has a decent offering which would suffice for an average bar food pallet. We had the Aloha Chicken and the 33 special, marinated espresso rib eye. Both dishes were fine, nothing to get too excited about and nothing that was terrible. Just a small note on the Aloha Chicken, the small slice of grilled pineapple sure looked like it came from a can. I took my mom here for Mother's Day. We were able to get a table right away. For some reason the kitchen was really off that day. My husband and I just moved out of Waco and we are definitely going to miss Bubba's. It's your general sports bar, but the food is outstanding, the service is great, and they have any kind of beer that you could want. All of this one's at a relatively low price tag too. Their burgers are my favorite and there are like 20 to choose from. If the working lot is packed, which is almost always, don't let that fool you or scare you away! I still don't know how it happens, but even on the days that I'm convinced we won't get a table, we have waited a maximum of 5-10 minutes.
