First, They changed their menu and took out plant based burgers. The bar was so loud had to yell to speak when we sat there at the booth for 5 people. After specifically asking for my Salmon to be well done, and the server repeated it, when it finally appeared it was gooey inside. Had to hunt someone down to get it cooked. Took WAY TOO LONG of a wait, glad I asked him to leave my salad.... I was hungry. Finally had to hunt down another person/manager? To check on my Salmon. Finally came, a smaller piece but better. Our server meanwhile disappeared and we had to keep asking for help. Manager did stop by, but it was after the long wait of the fish. In the past I had food poisoning at the branch up north, Universal City and thus knew the problem was it was not cooked. Even though I asked and specified, guess the cook still did not use the Theron meter before serving me the first plate. Sadly, not a good experience overall. The assist manager girl was helpful in the end, but our main server just literally disappeared. The child's chicken nuggets btw were spicy, had pepper, why would you do that for a child? Had to peel off the crust to get some bites out of it. Also, we had to get up and go to the front to ask for our 6 year old's menu/fun paper and crayons. Foods i recommend: Wings are big, saucy and meaty. Pizza is thin,crispy and the crust has a slight garlic taste to it. Same thing is the breadsticks. Salads are good too. Dessert selection here is basic and they offer the same as you can find at many other sit down chain restaurants. Service is hit or miss. 2/3 times I've dined here the service was remarkable. Had an interview at 3 and the Host was really nice , greeted me and sat me down , but I waited 15 min just for no one to come and say anything. I know the manger might maybe read this and just for future references, communication goes a long way. The food is always so delicious every time. Only once they messed our pizza order up BUT they were so quick to offer us a remade one for free. The manager is always walking around and checking every table which I find amazing because they get feedback on the spot. Came here spur of the moment since I've never tried Bubba's, and I will say that I was pleasantly surprised by this place. The best thing about Bubba's is their reverse happy hour specials, which includes a $10 16-inch pizza and $5 6-piece boneless wings. You can choose any of the pizzas (excluding the Dickie V), as well as two different sauce options for the boneless wings (each 3-piece can be one flavor). The made-to-order pizza was actually really good, and they didn't skimp out on the toppings either. My only complaint about the pizza was that the crust was just a little bit on the greasier side. I will definitely be back again for late night eats because the $10 pizza deal is amazing for the quality and size of the pizza. read more

We were there to celebrate my daughters Navy graduation, she's over 21 but they wouldn't serve her alcohol cause her military ID was vertical even thought it showed her DOB. She had been there before a few times to have drinks. It was a party of 10 , we ended up walking out and made a $500 transaction next door, their loss. Will never go to any Bubbas 33 or Texas Roadhouse as they're the same chain. If you're military and have a vertical ID, dont even think about going. read more

I usually have pretty low expectations for chain restaurants but I visited Bubba's to redeem a free birthday appetizer and I'm not disappointed I did. The server at the bar was very friendly and service was very prompt. The shotgun shrimp appetizer was really tasty. I was worried it would be too sweet but it wasn't at all. I order the deluxe pizza and took most of it home. Pizza leftovers throughout the week were still tasty. First time eating at bubbas on military, got some fried mozerella sticks as an appetizer and it was amazing, the misses and I both got the classic burger, she got loaded tots without bacon and I got loaded fries, her tots did come with bacon by accident but our server brought a whole new basket over to us and some sauces to try before we made our decision, shout to IRAM our sever for doing such an amazing job. Came in and had a lil wait. Thankfully we had an option to go on their app to get placed on their wait list. Shortly after, we were sat and Raul came to greet. Our server allotted time for us to get situated and then took our order. We ordered bubbas pizza, Sunshine burger, Bubbas bacon cheeseburger, and nachos. Came out timely. Burgers (the only one I saw that can be made with one patty is the classic cheeseburger; the rest are two patties, huge). Also offer pasta, pizza, salads, sandwiches, lots of choices. Also a kid menu offering nuggets and such. I had the Philly Cheesesteak and the husband had the bacon guacamole burger. Both are freakin' huge. We each took half home. The Philly was topped with four cheeses. Don't know what the four are. Ha, ha. All was tasty. The husband remarked that it looked like a Texas Roadhouse. Well guess what they are part of? Yes, Texas Roadhouse. They have a meat looking bar with lights underneath. There are TVs everywhere. I counted at least a dozen of them. With this Arctic Cold front, all I wanted to do was cuddle with my cats yesterday. So, I decided to order lunch through Door Dash. While we were in San Antonio for some touristy stuff we wanted to eat near where we stayed. My husband jumped on the internet and chose Bubba's 33. It was clear the restaurant is new. The building, grounds and parking lot are all good sized. Loved the atmosphere from the moment we walked in! In the small entry way there's a bench made from the rear end of a classic Ford Mustang that makes for a fun photo op, IF the bench is available (it wasn't when we walked in). Military/sports/music themed restaurant/bar would be the best way for me to describe the establishment. Loads of TVs for watching old music videos, sport events and a screen playing a rotation of military men & women to honor their service. Our server was a very friendly young lady. Actually, all the staff was friendly from the moment we arrived. The food was above average and there was lots of variety. We wanted a variety and we were sharing so we had a Crispy Fried Pickle appetizer and we split a large Meaty Meaty Pizza and Chicken & Bacon Mac N Cheese. The fried pickles were tasty and had a little bit of spice in the breading. It came with 2 dipping sauces: ranch dressing and Bubba Sauce. I'm not really certain what Bubba Sauce is but I would describe it as Mayo based, slightly sweet and a little bit of spice. The pizza had a regular crust with a sweet pizza sauce. Finally had our first visit at this new location tonight for dinner. There was no wait and our waitress (Desiree??) was great. My daughter loved the Mango Madness drink. My son and I had tea. His sweet and mine unsweetened. My husband had Coke Zero. No one ever needed to ask for a refill because she was on top of it every time. Even brought refills in to-go cups when we were done. For an appetizer, we had the combo to we had 5 boneless mild wings, crooked cheese sticks, and fried pickles. They each had their own sauce. All of them were really flavorful and cooked to perfection. Entrees included: Fish and Chips Blackened Bleu Burger Bacon Cheeseburger Classic Cheeseburger Lasagna a la carte This is my only con and it has nothing to do with the service, staff, or the food. The booth we sat at was a bit crowded for our family of 4. Just needed a few more inches of elbow room to eat so next time, we will opt for a table. This place is awesome. My wife had a strawberry quinoa salad and I had garlic knots and a side salad. The garlic knots come out hot and soft and are served with marinara and cheese on the side. That's a meal in itself. The side salad is pretty large itself. I ordered some Shotgun shrimp that never came until Cierra, our bartender, had them bring it out. By that time I was full but it was a nice to go snack. Bubba's 33 service is awesome at the bar. That's where we always eat. Cierra and Christina, now manager , have always taken good care of us, and from what I can see, every other customer at the bar. My only suggestion would be to tighten up the kitchen. I know there's a lot going on, but you have a lot of people back there to help you out. It's the second time that we've been there where the service was not up to par. Our food was brought out in stages, and as I noted before, one part didn't come out, until our bartender became involved. Purposely came here during a Cowboys TNF game, to see how the restaurant handles it......impressed. I've always enjoyed the Bubba's franchise and glad to see this spot opened in the Southside and hold-true to the Bubba's expectation. Place is clean, staff is friendly and the food is delicious. I will say, while flavorful, the spice level on the sauces very low. Place was packed and yes there was a wait for parties. It Was just me so I got the only open spot at the bar. Took about 8 mins for the staff to serve me and the rest of the night was seamless. Food wait was a bit extended but not crazy; it was a packed house. Bar staff were on their game. Then....incomes Christina. Wow!! Talk about a lady that enjoys being at work and amping up the atmosphere!! She started a Cowboys chant, assisted the bar back, served customers and all while making brief interactions with each customer at the bar. Christina you're a gem!!! Went to have a late lunch today, got seated in a booth that had chairs on one side and bench on the other. Super uncomfortable, and the a/c fan was blasting from the ceiling above. Took a really long time to get our food, and both orders were not up to par. The burger was requested to be plain and dry with cheese, however it came fully loaded with sauce, lettuce, tomatoes. Fries were stuck together and barely warm. The Turkey bacon sandwich was cold, bacon had fat that wasn't cooked enough, and the bread was barely there! My order to go was the spicy black bean burger and it was sent to go without a bottom bun. Wow, not a happy camper at all. For the total of $ 49 including $10 tip. And they were not that busy! They have a really good chicken sandwich. The pizza is pretty good and the drinks are nice and cold though. I don't think they give you enough ice but that's just me because it's the summer and it's been really hot in San Antonio. It's definitely one of our favorite spots to eat on S. My family decided no one was cooking on a Tuesday this week, so we all agreed to go out for dinner at Bubbas 33 at City Base Landing. It turned out to be a good week night to have dinner there as the restaurant was not as crowded as it is on Fridays and Saturday. It was nice to get a parking not too far from the restaurant and we were seated within 5 minutes of telling the hostess our party size. The waitress for our table promptly took our drink and meal selection. We got our drinks and food in a timely manner and the waitress was very polite and helpful. I forgot my phone in my car but that made me appreciate not only the company but also the atmosphere in the restuarant. I appreciated the different tv programs on each of the screens but must admit I was getting a little overwhelmed. Talking with family helped. My mom and I split a pizza as it was one of their daily specials. We also added a salad to split. One of my nieces had a pizza like my mom and I. My other niece had a amazing looking burger, my SIL had a yummy looking chicken fried chicken and my brother had wings. It was a good variety. The portions were great and we were all completely satisfied with our selections. We even had leftovers to take home. Prices were very fair in this day and age. I had a gift card ($50) from Christmas and was able to cover the tab for a family of 6 (including 2 hungry teens, lol). We are definitely returning and bringing friends. read more
