This was my first time visiting a Cheddar's and it will very likely be my last. I stopped in to this location on a Sunday afternoon with some friends after checking out a movie at the movie theater down the street. From the start, service was a bit spotty and we had multiple different servers waiting on us throughout the 1 1/2 hours or so we were there. While the food for the table also came out quickly it was pretty underwhelming. I ordered the dijon chicken & mushrooms entree and while it is a generous portion for the price it was literally overcooked grilled chicken with a strong gas grill flavor that was covered in their honey mustard dipping sauce. (i know it was the same sauce because another friend ordered the chicken tenders and it came with same mustard sauce as was on my entree) The chicken wasn't terrible but it definitely wasn't memorable either. Unlike my friend, who ordered the cheeseburger that came out with a frozen patty that was still cold and had zero flavor. On the plus side, the complimentary croissants with honey butter that come served to the table were delicious. The queso fries appetizer was fine. Listen, times are getting hard for everybody. Save your money and go elsewhere for your dining needs.

I hadn't been to a cheddars in probably close to 15 years. I never really loved the food or experience, but recently on a business trip I decided to give them another try The hostess was friendly enough, and when I told her a table for one she said she would need to clean off some tables. I then watched two families of 5 and of 9 come in after me and she sat them. After this she grabbed a rag and wiped down a table for me. The restaurant didn't seem especially full, and I get that I wouldn't be sat at a 6 or 10-top, but I still waited close to 10 minutes while others were being sat. My server did bring a croissant on the house since I had to wait, and that a nice touch. I ordered a drink, and then they came back and said they were out of the mix for that drink. I also had my water sitting on the edge of the table (empty) for a while before it was noticed. That being said, my server was very kind, and she made my stay feel more welcome and enjoyable The interior is relatively clean. The entire restaurant is very dimly lit which would make it difficult to notice issues with cleanliness. I did have many plates on my table that weren't bused in between courses or even asked if I wanted to get them cleared The food was fine and drinks were fine, and compared to BJs and Outback across the street, the prices are slightly less expensive Some tips: If you sign up for their newsletter you can receive a free chips and queso. Don't bother with the spinach artichoke dish or sampler, it's not very tasty. The pineapple coconut mule however is very tasty. Also, the Buffalo wrap was surprisingly good and hearty Cheers!

I enjoyed my first visit to Cheddars. I heard people rave about the honey butter croissants and they were right. The croissant was flaky and topped with a sweet drizzle of glaze. The side salad with blue cheese dressing was bigger than most restaurant side salads. The chicken pot pie was a disappointment. The crust was flaky but the filling consisting of some chicken chunks and a few veggies was soupy. If you're watching your sodium, this pie contains more than 3000 mg. , too salty for my taste. The vegetable plate (a side salad and 4 veggies) is a good value. I would not order the broccoli casserole again. The soft consistency was too mushy. Emanuel provided excellent service. I would visit Cheddars again for the honey butter croissants.

Ribs/shrimp,undone,cold............ cold, drinks were good but food,at least this was horrible. BE better,do better Cheddars.

Food was cold,at least the ribs/shrimp i ordered were. Drinks were good, service was ok! I really just wish the food was hot,I came to a restaurant for hot food and got the opposite, did not leave a tip because the waitress worked and I felt like the kitchen/cooks or maybe it was her but cold food at a restaurant???????? Noooooooooooo paid..............no tip, left a review, leaving reviews!

    Hair on plate

Server was nice but slow and inattentive. She was bartending and taking tables, should've just stuck to bartending since she can't handle more than the bar top. There was a hair on the plate of my food, returned it, got a pasta instead, by the time my pasta came my partner had already finished his food so I cancelled it. Server should've gotten the manager when the hair was found. I checked our bill on the ziosk and saw that the steak had been comped, meaning the manager knew about the issue but didn't bother to come talk to me. Management is so ass, they do nothing to help the poor experience you just had. They have trash hospitality and trash customer service. Ghetto manager told me "trust me I want to go home too" after I told her "I just want this taken off my bill and to go home" like who are you saying that to a customer ? A hoodlum or a restaurant front of house manager ? All she did was comp the steak and pasta. No apology, no offering to comp the appetizer, no offering dessert, no gift card to come back.

Yes. It is a chain. And yes it is getting mixed reviews. But I had a good experience here. It was my first time to this location. We came at lunch and it was busy. But we were sat quickly. The buttered croissants promptly arrived. We sat at the bar and we were served quickly by Coco. She gave some great recommendations. And our lunch was good. Again am I getting the best chicken fried steak in San Antonio? No but it was quick and was a good portion and it was tasty! Will we be back? Most likely!

Although we were seated quickly and our beverage order was also taken quickly, the food took way too long to get to the table. When it did, it lacked flavor and tasted old, even the meat looked a little gray. The ambiance was nice. it's a cute location.

Honestly, cheddars is just another chain restaurant in my eyes. I know they do some great things as a company, but their food is mid. I got the key west chicken and shrimp and I was honestly pretty excited- but the plate was so messy and hard to enjoy. The chicken was over cooked, the sauce was everywhere and made the rice entirely too sweet to eat. The shrimp were okay, I would have preferred them a little more grilled. The broccoli and cheese casserole was tasty. My dad got a T-bone steak and he wasn't impressed. My sister got the steak and ribs but she got full off of the appetizer. Service was great for a Sunday rush! The only thing that kinda stunk was that we joined the waitlist online and it quoted us 25-35 minutes, which was perfect because it took us that long to drive there.. when we arrived and checked in, they quoted us another 45 minutes. Weird.

The food was mid at best. I've had better food here but I ordered the chicken pot pie and it was gross. Not like i could complain about it because the waitress was almost non existent the whole night. My wife orders a steak with 2 sides and only received 1 side. The guy dropping the food at the table seemed highly annoyed because "these plates are really hot" and my kids didn't have space cleared for the plates. How??? No one came to pick up the dirty plates from the appetizer. So he begrudgingly drops the plates and scurries off so fast we couldn't even point out what was missing. We finally see the waitress and flag her down. We tell her what's missing and her response is "oh, well we don't have any baked potatoes"....errm okay? So you remedy this issue by replacing it with air? We ask for something else and she takes off quickly. AGAIN she leaves the plates. She brings the mashed potatoes and leaves them on the stack of dirty plates! This is a joke right? I'm being punk'd? We finish up our food and ask stack everything. Some guy ends up coming and taking the dishes. She asks if we need anything when we again flag her down from another table. We ask for drinks and to-go order and to- go containers. I pay cash and still left her an unearned $15 tip. But let's talk about the WORST part of this whole experience....I am in a wheelchair. I had my beautiful wife wheel my non walking self to the bathroom. We opt to use the family bathroom because.... space. Obviously. Bro! What in the actual hell is wrong with this establishment and I know this is not ADA compliant. (Picture attached) There's a whole, i don't even know how to describe it, thing screwed into the damn floor preventing the door from fully opening. Whyyyyy?! My wheelchair could not fit. I need to know the exact reason that this stupid thing is on the floor to prevent the door from opening. Is it to deter the handicap from using the facilities? Are we not allowed to have our spouse with us? I struggled to get in. And my wife had to wait outside because I don't like people touching my things and didn't want anyone moving my wheelchair.

Everything came out quickly, the service was smooth, and the whole menu felt approachable. I enjoyed the crawfish roll, which is a really nice alternative to the crab roll. Almost every time I see crawfish that's been peeled be someone else on a menu, I get pretty excited. Anyway, it served with the made-in-house hot sauce mixed with the drawn butter. Yummy. The fries were especially good, and dessert really surprised us. The carrot cake is very mild on the spice side, which actually let the textures shine, especially the brittle on top. It was incredibly light, crunchy, and honestly the best part of the dessert. We also appreciated how efficient everything was. We had a relaxed lunch, never felt rushed, and still managed to be in and out within about an hour and a half. If you are from out of town and looking for some Texas-shaped vittles or just want something substantial to stretch your meal I recommend it! Very tasty and filling. For my main I had the scallops with creamed corn risotto. It was a dainty portion but the flavors were nice. My husband had the short rib tagliatelle which he loved. It was very rich and filling. We had the buttermilk pie again for dessert and this time it tasted sweeter than I remembered. It was good but we couldn't finish it. Idk if it was my tastebuds or if it was different. Checked Yelp for dinner suggestions so Doc drove us to the paid lot next to where all the Cinderella lit up carriages drawn by horses were lined up. It seemed the boats going up and down the River portion of the Walk were busier. While we were walking I had my eyes open for a table with a view. We stopped at Four Brothers. The receptionist went over suggestions on the menu on her outdoor podium. Cornbread in the shape of Texas, shareable items like Dino ribs for $82, plus Pork Shank and ice tea completed our order. Everyone was very friendly. We had an exceptional view and we had more than enough food that we had to ask for take out boxes. My favorite was the Mac & cheese though I'm usually not a fan. This dish used cork screw shaped pasta and it was moist and not stuck together. I had to share a photo of it with Sweetie who is in Tokyo right now. Doc liked the pimento for the cornbread. As it was almost 9 pm we decided to pass on the boat ride but just walk on the other side with shops and more eateries. We're back on the road again tomorrow to Arizona.
