We were sitting quickly, even though it was a busy day for Bubba's 33! Our server was on point. We did not stay thirsty one of my fave things in a restaurant! The food was delicious. We ate pizza and a burger. Sorry we didn't take a picture. We had some beers. It was pricey, but definitely worth it if you're in the area check this place out.

YES, RIB EYE WITH COFFEE GLAZE, THICK AND TENDER. BETTER THAN TEXAS ROADHOUSE! YUMMY

LOVE this place! Great atmosphere, food, service, atmosphere, varied menu and reasonable prices. It's owned by Texas Road House, so that's a good indication! Just more casual with a good vibe and music. Definitely recommend their burgers, pizzas, pastas, shotgun shrimp, chicken fried chicken, and a very special, unique ribeye steak. It's a 14 ounce thick, unusually tender rib eye, with an amazing coffee glaze. YUM! The bar is friendly and fun, with well made drinks and lots of choices and specials. Did I mention their late night food specials? I think 9-11 or 10-12 on weekends, greatly discounted burgers and pizzas. The owner, Vincente is a great guy, fully hands on, and contributes to many local organizations. Managers are friendly and efficient, especially Liz and Jordy. And the servers really are attentive, friendly and spot on. Some of my faves are Q, Edgar, Brandon, Dylan, Derick, and Cloud. Check it out you'll be hooked to!

If you want to dine in, but don't want to spend too much, Bubba's is a good option. Their prices are reasonable- almost the same price as any major fast food chain- with large quantity. Around $15 per person. My husband really liked their deluxe pizza. The monte cristo wasn't good; the batter was extremely thick, and overpowered the rest of the sandwich. If it was more lightly fried, I would've enjoyed it. Service was quick and attentive. The inside was very much like a sports bar, with TVs on every wall. For the price, I'd say this is a decent option.

Overall, the food was very delicious and flavorful. Bubba's nachos has a really great spice to it, if you enjoy spice. Our waiter was very attentive and honest, believe his name was Issac. Several TVs to grab your attention. The music wasn't too loud, so that was great. Restrooms were clean! Definitely a place to try!

Bubba's 33 is pretty nice place with a good location right off the Expressway by the McAllen Convention Center. The server that we had was very attentive and kind. The night we went they were hosting a fundraiser for multiple sclerosis. The parking was great and plenty to do around there. We started with the Layered Cheese Fries and those were fantastic. They tasted just like potato skins. The cheese was amazing, the sauce on it was good and very fresh. My wife ordered the Italian Chopped Salad. The Lemon Basil Vinaigrette is so good. It's also a lot of food. The garlic focaccia bread that came with it was fantastic. Very fresh. I ordered a side salad with the Lemon Basil and the South of the Border Burger. The burger itself had very good flavor. The cheese sauce was great. The only thing I couldn't really taste was the chorizo. I wish that had a more prominent flavor in the burger. Overall this place is very good. We did wait a decent amount of time for the food, but they advertise that everything is made fresh. I'm more than willing to wait for fresh made food.

Decided to try something "new" wait time was about 5-10mins for a party of 3 and during a football game which I thought was not bad. Our server was very nice and attentive Now the food in my opinion could have been better. I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich OMG was it salty!!! On a plus the tater tots were very crispy and good. My husband ordered the avocado burger he liked it I though it needed flavor. ( maybe it was just me not having a good dinner) My friend ordered a chicken with cheese did not taste it but she said it was good. The restaurant is nice and as they say " we are known for the wall to wall televisions" yes they do have a lot of tv's. If you sign up for the club rewards, you get a free 12" pizza on your next visit. I guess I will be coming back to try their handmade pizzas.

Great place to watch any sporting event while enjoying some delicious food. Great ambient and music, personal favorite is the Spicy Habanero Burger, comes with a side of tasty fries. I also strongly recommend the chicken wings and their homemade pizza. I try to stop by here anytime I'm in McAllen.

Wings tasted like spicy ketchup. Steak tasted like a wet Rag. Burger was ok. I'll remember this place forever to never eat here again.

Great atmosphere for watching the game. Food is fine. Wings are their strong point. Service leaves a lot to be desired.

Food is good, but service is okay. Haven't tried much to give my overall assessment. I do like the place, so see for yourself.

Too loud. Rude staff. Mediocre food. Too loud. Not good. Not going back. So many better places for burgers in McAllen.

We've gone through the routine of JC Penny's, Dillards, and Sears and now it's time for my food court reward for not misbehaving. Many of you might not remember or have been born yet, but the place that took center stage and what was my favorite pizza place to this day was Luca Pizza. I'll always remember a worker wearing their chef's whites offering samples in the dining area, and my mom taking one for each of us. Every time I ate a piece I thought, "man, no wonder the Ninja Turtles love pizza so much". And then one day it was gone. The pizzeria that I loved so much growing up was no longer there, and it felt like it took all my memories with it. I thought that was it. All we have left here in The Valley is global pizza chains. Nothing made with heart. But then a cousin of mine told me that one of the cooks opened up his own place in Mission on Conway called "Pizza di Roma". Familiar faces. Familiar flavors. Familiar memories. After getting a haircut at Tatan's I would drive over and walk through the back entrance after passing their herb garden and get a pie. Things were right in the world, and wouldn't you know it, I came to learn that the full name of Luca Pizza was "Luca Pizza di Roma". Hah! And then one day it was gone. The doors were shut. The lights were off. Surely this can't be happening again right? Of course it was. The story would repeat itself with yet another pizzeria with the same staff called Titto's Pizzeria in Palmview until that too was gone, only this time there was no new incarnation. The spiritual descendants of Luca Pizza in The Plaza Mall were now all gone. There was no more pizza to be made from them anymore. Their story, as far as I know, had ended. And then one day I discovered The Pizzeria. The same cousin recommended it saying it reminded him of Pizza di Roma. Familiar ingredients! Familiar flavors! So, of course, I made the trek to Harlingen. Has anyone ever had that experience where they open the doors to a restaurant and you're immediately hit in the face with the smell that defines their restaurant? For steak houses it's the smell of the smoke coming from a seared steak, for panaderias it's the smell of sugar and freshly baked bread, and for coffee shops it's the smell of the sweetness of freshly ground coffee beans. For The Pizzeria, it was the smell of a caramelized pizza crust, the burnt flour left over in the oven, and the unmistakable heat and smell of a 450 degree oven that has baked thousands of pies in its lifetime. Now, I've been a loyal fan of this local pizza chain for years, and when their Harlingen location first opened, I still remember walking in and feeling like I had stepped into a true, passion-driven pizzeria. The place had energy, heart, and a sense of pride. Perhaps not familiar faces, but familiar flavors and, yes, familiar memories. But lately, something's changed, and not for the better. My recent visits to the Mission location have felt strangely lifeless in comparison. While the ingredients are still fresh, the execution hasn't been keeping up. The crusts come out uneven, the bakes inconsistent, and the attention to detail that once defined them seems to be fading. The frustrating part is that they still have all the ingredients (pun intended) to be great. Every single bite I take I think "This is good, and it's so close to being great, but it's just not there." What's lacking now is technique and care. The fundamentals aren't being applied with the same precision or passion they used to, and the result shows. I genuinely hope they can turn things around, because this isn't a lost cause. They've proven before, especially in those early Harlingen days, that they can deliver pizza with real heart. With a renewed focus on craftsmanship and consistency, they could easily reclaim what made them special. I want to keep cheering for them, but they need to rediscover the spark that once set them apart.
