Pepperoni 14"

Pizza is amazing. The garlic bread was really good as well. Of their sauces the Serrano ranch is the best. The 956 pizza was so good we got the marinara buffalo wings on it and added pepperonis. The kids really enjoyed the pepperoni pizza. Service was weird. We sat and someone took our order but we really weren't checked on at any point of being there. We had to go up and ask for a to go box and our check. Other than that the food is delicious. ** Update: we took half of each pizza to go. It reheated perfectly in the air fryer on the reheat option for 4 mins.

Great staff, great food, cool restaurant. Tried the Trompo Rojo and Chubby's Hamburger pizza. Both excellent and unique if you're looking to try something different than your average pie.

Im not going to lie, maybe if I had gotten something other than the basic pepperoni pizza maybe I would be more impressed, but technically this is a pizza place so the pizza should be the best part. The pizza I'd rate it 7/10 cause it was good but it wasn't like amazing to be scored a 10. Still worth trying though. The service is good. That's it. The ambiance is kinda aesthetic.

The service was great as the servers were attentive as soon as you walked into the restaurant and they constantly checked up on us to make sure everything was ok. The garlic bread was nothing special and mainly tasted like parmesan topped soft bread, the artichoke dip that came with it was good and the marina was okay. The pizza's themselves aren't anything I would go back for. The taste is alright, the dough did not have any flare to it and cheese was middling. Their sauces were acerbic with the exception of the creamy gorgonzola which tasted more like ranch than the buttermilk ranch actually did, which was overpowered by the taste of dill. The napo's sauce was also overpowered by chipotle and didn't have a balance of other ingredients they may use for the sauce. The poblano one was tasty and had a nice spicy kick to it. The restaurant is small but has a decent amount of seating, and the decorations and art wall are a great touch for the theme they're going for. The only downside is the placement of their beverage machine which was placed near a table. If people are sitting there it's definitely 1) tight and 2) awkward getting by them to refill your cup. I'll definitely be back to try other items since I don't like to seal the deal on the first try, and I hope the other items on the menu will infatuate me to keep going back.

This place has great pizza. I didn't go for their signature stuff, I figured more fundamental pizza would be the best thing to try, so I got a pep and their salami pizza. The crust was thin, crispy, bit of that charcoal burn to it, flavorful. The sauce for the salami had a unique taste, I think they blended peach and cheese into the tomato sauce. It was actually really good, definitely by favorite between the two. I also enjoyed the sauces they brought to the table. When we got there it was just us and one other group and the staff took care of us pretty quickly. Around 10 it got pretty busy in there, clearly a popular place to go on a Friday. I'll be back for more.

My first impression on the pizza that it looks great. Now to judge the crust, yes crust was very fluffy which made the pizza a little floppy for my liking but that doesn't take away from the flavor. The sauce had a very sweet and tangy flavor, which was just perfect. Good quality of cheese. I didn't go for the classic cheese this time so I wanted to try something new. The margarita pizza ended up to being a good choice. I can't wait to see what their other pizzas will taste like.

Cute ambiance! The wings are almost like the chicken from chicken parmesan, but very good! Pizza cheese was perfectly melted, and the bucatini was delicious! The server brought 4 dressings. The vino spritz was yummy and refreshing. Will try again!

Spicy Honey Garlic Parmesan Wings- Delicious! The chicken was cooked just right, and the spice and seasoning levels were just right.

Came here for the first time with my wife and friends, and we all loved it! We had the following: Spicy Honey Garlic Parmesan Wings - Chicken was cooked just right and spices/sauce were just at the right point. They were even better thanks to the wide selection of different sauces! Medusa's Cheese and Sticks - Not usually a Hawaiian pizza kind of guy, but everyone else insisted. It was fantastic! The cheese, though, and ham mixed so well, and they were all clearly high quality. Deep Dish Ratatouille - 10/10. The sauce and cheese complement all the vegies perfectly. Ambience and Price: Fun ambience with very picturesque decor and very reasonable price for the quality. Would highly recommend!

Lasagna

Good food just a bit on the salty side. The inside is simple and has a small bar. We tried a custom pizza with basil and prosciutto as well as the lasagna. The 14" is surprisingly filling for 2. The caesar salad was fresh and probably my favorite from our order. Service was great! Definitely worth the try!

We also ordered a regular pepperoni pizza. The pizza was really cheesy, which I loved but I think it could have stood to be in the oven a couple more minutes because the center was a little too soggy. But the outer crust was nice and crisp. I ordered the tortellini bolognese. The pasta was cooked nicely but the sauce did not taste like traditional bolognese sauce. It tasted like regular meat sauce. That being said, I enjoyed the taste of the sauce but it was not worth the 20 dollar price, especially since it wasn't even bolognese. The service was nice. Our waitress was attentive and since we were the only ones there at the time, our food came out pretty quick! The space itself was clean and felt homey. Would have loved some Italian music but we enjoyed ourselves either way. All in all, this place was ok, not great but definitely better than some other Italian places I've been. With a few improvements, their food could be really great!

We've gone through the routine of JC Penny's, Dillards, and Sears and now it's time for my food court reward for not misbehaving. Many of you might not remember or have been born yet, but the place that took center stage and what was my favorite pizza place to this day was Luca Pizza. I'll always remember a worker wearing their chef's whites offering samples in the dining area, and my mom taking one for each of us. Every time I ate a piece I thought, "man, no wonder the Ninja Turtles love pizza so much". And then one day it was gone. The pizzeria that I loved so much growing up was no longer there, and it felt like it took all my memories with it. I thought that was it. All we have left here in The Valley is global pizza chains. Nothing made with heart. But then a cousin of mine told me that one of the cooks opened up his own place in Mission on Conway called "Pizza di Roma". Familiar faces. Familiar flavors. Familiar memories. After getting a haircut at Tatan's I would drive over and walk through the back entrance after passing their herb garden and get a pie. Things were right in the world, and wouldn't you know it, I came to learn that the full name of Luca Pizza was "Luca Pizza di Roma". Hah! And then one day it was gone. The doors were shut. The lights were off. Surely this can't be happening again right? Of course it was. The story would repeat itself with yet another pizzeria with the same staff called Titto's Pizzeria in Palmview until that too was gone, only this time there was no new incarnation. The spiritual descendants of Luca Pizza in The Plaza Mall were now all gone. There was no more pizza to be made from them anymore. Their story, as far as I know, had ended. And then one day I discovered The Pizzeria. The same cousin recommended it saying it reminded him of Pizza di Roma. Familiar ingredients! Familiar flavors! So, of course, I made the trek to Harlingen. Has anyone ever had that experience where they open the doors to a restaurant and you're immediately hit in the face with the smell that defines their restaurant? For steak houses it's the smell of the smoke coming from a seared steak, for panaderias it's the smell of sugar and freshly baked bread, and for coffee shops it's the smell of the sweetness of freshly ground coffee beans. For The Pizzeria, it was the smell of a caramelized pizza crust, the burnt flour left over in the oven, and the unmistakable heat and smell of a 450 degree oven that has baked thousands of pies in its lifetime. Now, I've been a loyal fan of this local pizza chain for years, and when their Harlingen location first opened, I still remember walking in and feeling like I had stepped into a true, passion-driven pizzeria. The place had energy, heart, and a sense of pride. Perhaps not familiar faces, but familiar flavors and, yes, familiar memories. But lately, something's changed, and not for the better. My recent visits to the Mission location have felt strangely lifeless in comparison. While the ingredients are still fresh, the execution hasn't been keeping up. The crusts come out uneven, the bakes inconsistent, and the attention to detail that once defined them seems to be fading. The frustrating part is that they still have all the ingredients (pun intended) to be great. Every single bite I take I think "This is good, and it's so close to being great, but it's just not there." What's lacking now is technique and care. The fundamentals aren't being applied with the same precision or passion they used to, and the result shows. I genuinely hope they can turn things around, because this isn't a lost cause. They've proven before, especially in those early Harlingen days, that they can deliver pizza with real heart. With a renewed focus on craftsmanship and consistency, they could easily reclaim what made them special. I want to keep cheering for them, but they need to rediscover the spark that once set them apart.

We decided to try a new place while we were in town - glad we did!…read more The place has a bit of an upscale vibe but folks were dressed from dressed up to somewhat casual. Our server was Sublany and she was awesome. Very personable and her recommendations were spot on. We decided to start with the Calamari with sun dried amogio. The calamari were large and prepared perfectly. The sun dried amogio was amazing - great flavor and some heat - the perfect pairing with the calamari. Great start! We tried the soup of the day which was something we'd never heard of much less eaten. It was a green bean soup - the beans were puréed with cream, some cheese and red pepper flakes. We weren't sure how it would taste by Sublany highly recommended it so we went for it. It was really good - the flavor was subtle but great; nice and creamy. We would definitely order it again. For our entrees my wife tried the salcicce which was pappardelle, fennel sausage, roasted red bell pepper, marinara, caprino and red pepper flakes. It was also very good - the pasta was prepared perfectly and the flavors all worked very well - another hit. I selected the lamb chops which were frenched lollipops, blue cheese cream and an arugula salad. The chops were perfectly prepared and the blue cheese cream on top was amazing - made very good chops excellent. The arugula salad also had a great flavor. I would also order this again. For dessert we decided to share a Hand Pie which was an apple pie with caramel drizzle and ice cream. The texture of the dough was great and the apples had a great cinnamon flavor which worked well with the caramel drizzle and the vanilla ice cream. This place was great! I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a bit more upscale than the run of the mill restaurants!
