I am curious why my bill came to $48 when I ordered two barbecued pork sandwich baskets at 14.99 each and one order of onion rings for 9.99. even using 10% for state and local taxes. It seems like my bill was approximately five dollars more than I expected. Perhaps they charge more for takeout orders or, a service fee or for using a credit card. I don't know. Place was busy as usual, but she greeted me right away with that chill, no-BS energy. Recommended the pulled pork sandwich on Bubba bread (seriously, that bread is next-level), some ribs, mac & cheese, and their coleslaw to cut the richness. Everything came out hot, saucy, not overdone--best BBQ around Tampa Bay area, hands down. Kendall checked in a couple times without hovering--asked if I wanted extra sauce (hell yes), kept the sweet tea flowing, even cracked a quick joke about the portion sizes being "dangerously good." I love this chain. This is the first time I placed an order on their website. Sandwich and fries. I arrived 10 minutes after placing, they did not have the order. Ordered smoked turkey from this restaurant for Christmas. It was outstanding very juicy and tasty. Order was placed eight days ahead of time with no problem and picked up on time with a great customer service soon as I come through the door until the time I I took the turkey home. What a disappointing visit today. After driving an hour in the rain to get there, I'm told customers are no longer ALLOWED to choose white meat or dark meat chicken, "you get what you get". Then I ordered the chicken tenders and they tasted like they were fried with fish or shrimp. Gross. What restaurant do you know that doesn't allow you to choose the chicken you want? What's the point of serving food you can't eat? I'm truly disappointed and disgusted by the meals I purchased for my family of four. I spent $79.89 to feed my family thinking it would be a great fulfilling meal. Mac n cheese and French fries were cold, the wings were inedible and tiny (I bragged on these wings due to prior experience with this location) the ribs were salty as was the Buffalo soldier sandwich. Honestly this was the worst experience ever and I may try BubbaQues again but definitely not at this location!
