With the task of feeding 50 hungry souls , I chose to go with the Keg for our staff, Sinyee and the catering staff did a phenomenal job with getting it here on time, kudos to the chef and crew because everything was great! I read a lot of great reviews on this place so I had to stop and order something to take home. I ordered a half rack of their large baby back ribs with cole slaw and collard greens. The ribs were AWESOME! I brought home two packets of their mild sauce but believe me they do not need any sauce, they are perfectly seasoned as is! The collards were also perfectly seasoned. Do yourself a favor and order a whole rack and large sides! I have not tried the cole slaw yet but am certain it is great as well. read more

Wife was having a milestone birthday, so decided to have these guys cater it. Catering specialists Ashley and Sinyee helped us out with the ordering, and the cooks did the rest. We ordered the "Keg" which is supposed to feed 50 people - we had 40 people eating, and ended up with leftovers for another 25 people easy. Four chickens, all cut up, pork, ribs, brisket and sides. Nice sized portions. Everything was carefully packaged, delivered on time, and as advertised. Hot and tasty. Everyone commented on how good everything was, and no one was disappointed. I've found a new favorite go-to for BBQ! Bubbaque's definitely delivers all that I expected, & more even! Their prices are pretty spot on & they offer a wide variety of options, from different kinds of ribs, to pork sandwiches, & even redneck nachos (my personal favorite). The staff are always very friendly, & when you visit this location, it has a small-town-like kind of vibe. The staff almost always offer to clean your table/take your trash once you are finished. The restaurant is more like a fast-food counter service, but a server brings your food out to your table once it's ready, which usually only takes a few minutes at most. The food is always fresh & hot (temperature-wise)! They have about 6-7 different BBQ sauces, including a mustard based sauce, a vinegar based sauce, & of course their signature BBQ sauce. My personal favorites are the sweet molasses & the smoky sauces. You'll spend around $10-13/person depending upon what you are, but that price also includes a drink, which I don't think is bad at all! Friendly service and good food. While a chain it does do well food wise. The cashiers are always friendly and polite. I like that there are multiple sauces on the table and you don't have to ask the cashiers all the time to get more sauce or get a different flavor. It's located pretty well and hard to miss. I feel it's a little expensive for the amount of meal you get, but at the same time I hardly eat BBQ so I'm not sure if the prices and portions are comparable to others. It's difficult enough to get BBQ right with enough consistency to open one restaurant. To open two is audacious and risky. To franchise is to abandon any hope of quality. We went to "Bubbaque's" in Brandon because one of our guests was red-meat averse, and the menu at the first choice (accidentally called First Choice Southern BBQ) was perceived too vegetarian/pescatarian hostile. Big mistake. Too bad we'd already had pizza and Mexican already this week. The meat probably was smoked. Somewhere. Not here. Not recently. These chewy precooked ribs had been reheated so fast as to defeat the purpose of the smoking. The pulled pork was shredded, but not at all unctuous--which is why we slow-cook pork shoulder: to melt the fat and collagen. The sliced turkey looked like lunch meat. 'Nuff said, there. All the fried goods, including fried green tomatoes, chicken tenders, and sweet potato fries, were wretched. The side orders included over-steamed green beans, old (probably frozen) corn on the cob (I know, any but fresh should be avoided), and sugary cole slaw. The macaroni and cheese looked OK, but it probably entered the building in a plastic bag. The only thing to be said in this particular Bubbaque's unit's favor is one staff member ("Brit") who did her best to make our visit pleasant. The cashier/hostess ("Haley") spent most of the time she stayed on or answering her mobile phone (before she fled). Who knows what the cook was thinking. One shudders to think what he did was deliberate. The ambiance was wink-wink redneck, with everything but a rebel flag. And they did have two televisions, which automatically cost them a star they could't afford to lose. If I could take away the one star, I would. read more

Had the ribs, beans, corn on the cob, Mac and cheese, wings and red neck nachos. The wings and beans were the best out of all of them. Ribs had great flavor but they fall of the bone to easily. Which means long cook time if you like your ribs fall off the bone they are great. I like a little bite (pull) for my taste but had a good flavor. The wings were awesome. Had a great smoke and had them tossed in the tractor grease bbq sauce. The best sauce available there in my opinion. The beans are outstanding add a little of the tractor sauce and it's another level. Staff was very friendly and great service. Will definitely be back to try other stuff. read more

This is a very small place so if you have a large party be prepared to be cramped. It's small but clean. Now the food. The ribs were well seasoned but tuff . There was a lot of fat on the ribs as well. The baked beans were really good. They had chunks of meat on them. Very tasty. The macaroni and cheese was very bland and mushy. The sweet tea was not sweet at all and it was hot even when you put ice in it. The food portions were very large. Now for the sanitation. People would lick their fingers and then touch the paper towels and the barbecue sauce bottle. No bueno. :-(. They should probably consider putting napkin dispensers on the table so that people are not putting barbecue sauce on the paper towels. Overall I was not very impressed. Well, we were not expecting much at first given there were a few locations throughout Tampa. We were hungry and just went with it since it was close to where we were. I am glad we did. My wife is a Texas girl and she loves BBQ, and even she was impressed. The food was FANTASTIC. I have been to a few bbq spots in my day and they are usually good, but this place was great. The brisket was tender, the mac and cheese was phenomenal the chicken was succulent, the sauces were great and plenty of choices. This placed exceeded our expectations. I used to frequent the Sun City location but now I'm closer to the Brandon location. I have loved it every single time. The pulled pork sandwich is my favorite. You can buy it as a meal on Texas toast (yum) or buy just the meat by the half pound or pound and bring home to put on your own buns/rolls. Both ways are delicious. They also sell sliced bread if needed. I like the Mac n cheese, chicken and sweet tea as well. My boyfriend also likes the brisket but I haven't tried it. I really want to like this place, and I do (sometimes). First off this is not meant to be fancy. It is rather small, and done up in a cowboy motif. On first entering, one of the staff will shout you a big "Howdy" before you are even all the way through the door. Much of their business is take out, and even if you are eating in you place your order at the register, and one of the employees brings it out to your table. We have ordered from here at least a dozen times, and the food is good. Our favorites are the Baby Back Ribs, the Pulled Pork, the Texas Brisket, their fries, and their Bubba Bread (kind of like Texas Toast). So why not more than 3 stars? In a single word, inconsistency. The Baby Back Ribs are sometimes lean and meaty, and sometimes fatty. We like ordering the pulled pork and brisket by the pound, taking slices of the Bubba Bread and making sandwiches. As mentioned the Bubba Bread is really Texas Toast, toasted and buttered on one side. We always request that they butter the toast on both sides, which they always agree to do, but actually only do it about half the time. Orders of fries are generous as are the onion rings (which are both pretty good). They has a number of different sauces from sweet to hot for you to slather on your order, both at the tables and in generous packets if you are taking out. If you are taking out, be sure to check your order before leaving, as their accuracy rate is about 80%. If you are picking up, call ahead and place your order so as to cut down on the wait time. Soft drinks are fountain style, so you can get up and refill to your heart's content. Employees walking around are constantly walking around clearing tables and will ask if you need anything. They will often refill your drinks for you without being asked. Best Brisket I have found in Brandon, and if you have a party to feed, ordering pounds of Brisket and oodles of Bubba Bread (don't forget to ask buttered on both sides) and have folks make their own sandwiches is a good way to go. read more

Total convert here....BBQ snob, admittedly . I live in Plant City and have passed this place by many times. Leave it to the virus to open up new opportunities !!! Dropped in and grabbed a couple meals.. very friendly counter Gals !! The brisket... the fare I measure all BBQ places with.. a barometer of technique not just in cooking for 12-15 hours ,but not an easy lump of meat to to keep moist and relevant, unless you have a decent amount of people asking for it. Always lean .. always moist...noice !! I love that they pack each meat in foil inside the styrofoam container. The corn ...snappy bite ( steamed or friend) delicious !! We picked up take out and found that some items didn't travel very well. We got the ribs and fried shrimp, which were good. The French fries weren't cooked all the way through and were limp and soggy by the time we got home. The Texas toast was very soggy as well. I think the fries and toast need to be packaged separately, otherwise the steam in the container makes them soggy. read more
