We traveled to Dublin just to experience something called New Mexican style. Totally assuming it's a product of the 47th state? Bubbakoo's is a counter chain found in 15 east coast-mid west states. Bringing New Mexico to the east. This cuisine looks like Mexican food but they use a lot more green and red chiles. I'm told you'll also find more vegetables, especially corn, heavy on the cilantro and fry breads. As for this spot, the food, service and atmosphere are all outstanding. Food tastes fresh and you get a great quantity for what you pay. We like to create our own burritos. The plan is to change it up each time we discover a new location. If you're looking for Mexican food with a fusion flavor, check out Bubbakoo's! They had so many different kinds of burritos and build your own bowl options. The General Tso's chicken definitely caught my eye so I got that in my keto bowl. You could choose from a lot of different options for veggies and toppings. For the burrito they had lots of options like the Pineapple Express, gochujang chicken, and Nashville hot chicken. The burrito did have a lot of rice in it, along with chicken and sauce. Definitely add extra veggies if you want more crunch. Some of the sauces costed extra so I just got the pico and salsas, which came with the bowl. They also had veggie options like guac bowls or cauliflower nachos and tacos. There was lots of seating indoors and the decor had a beachy, California vibe with lots of vibrant colors. The food was mediocre at absolute best. I think I've had cheese quesadillas with more meat than what I got in my Birria quesadilla. The Birria sauce was bad, and I swear it had curry leaves in there, only flavor I got was the flavor of curry and a very bland beef broth, and a lot of oil. Cheese curds from a burrito place should not be this good. But they are. Crunchy and cheesy and really great with the mango habanero sauce. The burrito bowl was also well done - the steak is seared to order, so there's good flavor to it, and the sweet chili sauce was delicious, if a little confusing with the rest of the burrito flavors. There's plenty of food for the money as well. From the outside, the place looks odd because it's in this little three-store strip mall, but the inside is clean and modern, and really leans into a subtle rock vibe that goes well with their food menu. Service felt a little frazzled, but super friendly, and I got in and out pretty quickly. read more

My first impression - this place was colorful and had a warm vibe. All guests are welcomed on arrival and they even apologized for a small wait - (you don't find that often) but it's appreciated. Food and sauces were tasty and flavorful, this is not just another chipotle - you can get Shrimp and Nachos. I went with the taco salad in a very, lite and airy shell. For my protein l did the Mango Chicken, next l loaded up the shell with all fresh veggies, l did regular cheese but you can get queso cheese for additional cost. I'm impressed. I ordered online through their snazzy app. The restaurant appeared packed but most of the cars out front were staff. As it was their first day they were training. The Nashville Hot Chicken burrito had decent heat to it. Adding cheese and sour cream certainly helped. One small issue I noticed is the app gives you the option to remove pickles, where it is typically asking you to add other ingredients. I left this unchecked which resulted in no pickles by default it appears. The pork carnitas was so tender. The flavor combination is pretty nice too. Nacho style cheese on crispy potato. The General Tsos tacos were the best value of the bunch coming with chips. The flavors really popped and the shredded chicken seemed to be a good choice. Came for a quick lunch! You can order online but I decided to walk in for the experience. At 2pm on a weekday, I missed the lunch rush. I got a bowl with brown rice, grilled chicken, black beans, pico, lettuce, Nashville hot sauce, and a bit of shredded cheese. I also ordered chips and salsa on the side. You can do mild or hot, so I got hot. Not all that spicy. The food was delicious and filling! Good flavors and I liked the different sauce options. This place has a lot of hype, and I happened to be right beside it, so I stopped in to grab something to take to work for lunch. Build your own, many different options of carbs and meat (not as many veggies.) I got a Chiwawa, which looked on the menu like it may be a bowl or a stuffed item, but they squished it out in the carrier and then piled everything on top. So it's sort of an arincini, rice ball, smushed flat, and then you pick your beans, rice, protein, flavorings, etc. I got black beans, Sriracha pork, and a few veggies. Pretty good value. Hearty. Travelled well. Super friendly service. Small inside, but bright, and nice enough to eat in. They're a chain expanding in the area it looks like, so I will probably be back, or to another location at some point. read more

Bubbakoos is a Tex Mex chain from California. They just opened on Sawmjll and the place was packed on Friday night. There was a line out the door and the kitchen seemed chaotic. All tables were full. It's a step up from Chipotle only because of the options they serve. They have atleast 9 different variations of chicken you can choose from. They also have vegan, gluten free and vegetarian friendly options on the menu. I was completely amazed to see a fast food place sell Taco Salad. One item that was the more interesting was a burritodilla which is basically your choice of burrito pressed into a quesadilla. You choose your protein, your fixings like corn salsa, lettuce, jalapeño etc The burritodilla was crispy and cheesy just the way I like it. Cost me same as Chipotle bowl, which is great! Another interesting item I would definitely try next time is their Chiwawa (panko-breaded fried rice balls topped with nacho cheese and other burrito fixings). They have great sides ranging from chips to Buffalo cauliflower to tater tots and curly fries. I also tried their broadwalk cookie which basically fried Oreos ( carnival food all the way)!! Similar to Chipotle but with additional options such as Shrimp. I ordered a burrito with Hibachi steak and shrimp with a side of chips with queso. Overall, the food was ok but could have used a little more flavor in the meat and rice. I would go with just shrimp next time as it was my favorite part of the meal. Was not the biggest fan of the queso and chips as it tasted more like nacho cheese and the chips didn't have a lot of flavor. I would go back but would order a little differently next time. This was our first trip to Bubbakoo's ... SOOO GOOOOOD!! We are a family of six and were coming to Columbus from Pittsburgh to pick up a puppy. Our kids first pet. We went 45 minutes out of the way to eat here as I'd heard about it but never been there. I got a bowl with shrimp. My wife got some loaded nachos. Both of these were great. I tried her nachos and she had sriracha on them so it was a little spicy, but not bad. I don't typically do the spice. The bowl was great. From the pictures you see I thought the shrimp would be bigger. But still tasted good. We also got some chips and nacho cheese. Kid approved!! I thought the cheese quesadilla tasted wonderful. They didn't like it but it was different than they are used to. We got some chicken fingers also ... and they tasted better than our last trip to EatNPark in Pittsburgh. Kids meals were good price as were the adult entrees. I was bummed there were no straws. I drink a lot of water and it was much harder to drink more from a small cup. My husband has been wanting to stop and try this place every time we're in Dublin. Yesterday I finally gave in and will never let him choose another restaurant again LOL The customer service left a lot to be desired. While I get that we were the first people in the door at opening, both employees looked at us like we had 5 heads and obviously had no desire to help us. My husband is ordered the papi hibachi with steak and shrimp - a $16 single burrito with no sides and no drink - those are $4+ extra. I don't eat seafood, but he said the best part of the entire burrito was the mango habanero sauce they put on it. He said the shrimp was very overcooked. Our daughter chose the general Tso burrito with crispy chicken. I did try this and it was meh. Some frozen chicken chopped up on a burrito with rice and not enough sauce to even taste it. I opted for the 2 taco value meal with ground beef. To be the first people in the door at opening, that ground beef was DRY and had no flavor at all. The chips and salsa were not good. Stale chips and salsa that tasted like blended up tomatoes. We all agreed that we can make better food at home. read more

This is my first time eating at Bubbakoo's Burritos, so I cannot say much about the taste of any item other than the three tacos meal, which is at least average, but falls short of your typical taco truck. The price is fairly consistent with our inflated market. With my Gatorade Zero, the total was just over $13. Chipotle offers more sustenance for the dollar. Bbbakoo's, however, offers much more variety, and the ambiance is far more cozy than a Chipotle or 99% of Taco Bell locations. Yes, there is a Taco Bell with a better set-up, located in Pacifica, California. Bubbakoo's doesn't win any special awards for service, but it isn't poor by any means. The music inside is at a pleasant volume, playing alternative rock. The seats are padded and if it weren't for the music, I may've considered studying here...but alas, that's not really the atmosphere a taco place usually aims for, so Panera Bread next door will be my next stop. Would I suggest Bubbakoo's? I'd come again, but it's not my highest priority. read more
