Amazing Thai spot in Albany. Came here with my girlfriend and this was a perfect date night spot. Loved the ambiance in here and it wasn't too packed due the rain the night we went. Our service was great as the food came out fairly quick and was amazing. Full of flavor and the portions were great for the price. Loved this place hopefully will be back soon

Family dinner for six. When I asked where folks wanted to go, two of my brothers independently suggested Bua Thai Kitchen. Sure, we're down for that. A reservation was made for 6pm on a Friday night. Never knowing how bad traffic would be, we left home early and arrived way to early. We grabbed a parking space in their small let and felt lucky because there was only on other space plus a handicap space. We didn't realize that two cars could also park parallel close to the building. Street parking is also very tight. This is important to know because this restaurant appears to do a very healthy delivery service business. It seemed like many of the drivers picking up orders chose not to park properly, making it difficult for others to pull into parking spaces or even just into the lot itself. We observed at least one driver who parked near the building and ran inside, leaving his lights on and his driver's door open. The restaurant can't be blamed for this behavior; it's beyond their control. There were a few occupied tables when we entered. We were seated at a two-top that was next to a four top. It seems like more restaurants are using USB-C ported LCD lights lately. Much more useful than those silly LCD "tea candles" that provided zero light. Menus were presented as were glasses of water and two carafes. Our server came over several times to see if we were ready to place our order, but it always takes forever. We finally ended up with: Green Salad Rolls - 4 - Fresh, crunchy, and delicious with the accompanying peanut sauce. Roti with Yellow Curry - 4 - The Roti was perfection. The Yellow Curry Sauce was a bit on the thin side. Thicker would adhere better to the Roti. Roti with Peanut Sauce - 4 - Same great Roti. Peanut Sauce flavor was decent but there was some separation of oil from the sauce itself. Crispy Rice Salad - 4 - A bit too sour for me from the lime but everyone else seemed to enjoy it. Pumpkin Curry with Tofu - 4 - Perfect over rice. We ordered everything mild so everyone could eat all that we ordered. The vegetables were cooked well. Spicy Green Beans - 1 - This was our least favorite dish. The Green Beans were simply tough and stringy. Pad Thai with Chicken - 4 - Was good. As expected. Seafood Eggplant - 5 - Dish of the evening. Although no one got a taste of every ingredient, what I got was quite tasty. Pla Rad Prik - 4 - Deep-fried Pampano with Sweet and Sour Sauce, Pineapple and Crispy Basil. There was also an assortment of red, green and yellow bell peppers. By the time we were done eating, we had no room left for dessert. Service was pretty good. Definitely a place worth returning to except for the Green Beans.

===TL;DR=== - Red curry - Seafood eggplant ===TMI=== First and foremost, they NO LONGER have the young coconut seafood curry - not sure why that was in their promo photo since I literally came here for that. After finding that out, had to opt for something else. Can't go wrong with red curry anywhere. Pair it with rice and that's a solid meal. Tried their seafood eggplant.... There were sure a lot of eggplants in there so for all those eggplant lovers out there, this is your dish. I was hopping there would be more seafood. The flavor was good tho and it came on a sizzling plate so that was nice. I've also had their beef noodle soup and spicy wings of heaven here as takeout before. Their beef noodle soup was surprisingly not bad. Wing wise, flavorful but very small. Overall they do a good job on flavors here.

It rarely gets better than these types of locations. Literally within walking distance from our place. Looks like you're walking up to a neighbors front door upon entry. Well lit decorated entry and dining area. The service is eager to attend to every request. Everything was delicious and there was plenty leftover to take home after ordering for two. Always a plus! Interesting setup here.. looks to be a big house remodeled to be a restaurant? Parking was tight and limited - highly recommend street parking. Both items I ordered were great. I particularly enjoyed the crispiness of their spicy wings of heaven. Not sure about the spicy portion though. Maybe they thought we can't handle real spicy which is true lol. The duck noodle soup felt stacked and I didn't feel like they skipped on the proteins either. It's boneless too so feel free to slurp and eat away! We did noticed the service being slow from water refills to paying the bill. Not a dealbreaker so 4*.

My family and I are no stranger to this place so it shouldn't be a surprise to you that we once again rave the food. We'd like to change it up every time we go and try something different. That's half the fun of going to a restaurant that serves food you're not real familiar with. however my history allows me to have knowledge of this food because the owner is from the exact town that I was stationed in doing my jumps into Vietnam from there during the war. Everyone that works there is so nice and hospitable, and they greet me by my first name when I come in and they love my family. Tonight my wife had the chicken muscleman curry, which was absolutely delicious because we taste each other's foods. We do it more on a share system then ordering one entrée per person. I had the Sua Ring Hai, my wife had the Chicken Masaman Curry, and our daughter ordered the Pa Ka Pao Khai Dow. If you have never been to Northern Thailand, this is how the food is supposed to taste. I would use it as a barometer to compare to other Thai restaurants, but you have to remember that each area of Thailand has its own style of food. This area and style of food is called Issan, from the very tip top north of Thailand in the center literally 15 minute drive from the Mekong river. I like the little touches that they do as well. Certain foods will come with what's called Kow Neo a sticky rice that you pack with your hand and use it to dip up the sauces on your plate like bread. It's a very northern thing. Have fun eating here it's a very pleasant well decorated good fast service cheerful people in a really large menu. And I really recommend you order one of their desserts. One of our favorites is the mango dessert at the end of the mail with the red sticky rice. If you like beer, like I do, you might want to try to order their dark logger from Laos. That was a nice surprise for me to try that absolutely delicious and perfect with the food.

I've been here before but didn't know it until my kids reminded me. We were in the area and we were looking forward to having Thai for dinner, especially at a place we never been but oh well, the reviews were great. We were seated immediately despite the busyness of the place. We decided to forego our usual Thai dishes and ordered chicken wings, shrimp pad thai and a fried pompano fish with the sweet and sour sauce on the side. The chicken wings came and looked good but taste wise- it was bland and the chicken had a strong "chicken" taste to it- can't explain but I didn't like it. If chicken could be called gamey, then that's what it was. And the chicken wings could've been fried more or it could have been double fried but either way they weren't that crispy. My Pompano fish looked really good but like the chicken, it was also not as crispy as it could be so either their oil wasn't as hot or they didn't cook it long enough I don't know, but I'm not a restaurant so I can't tell you . It's too bad because I was really looking forward to having a fried fish. The one thing that saved the entire meal was the combo dessert that we ordered. It was coconut ice cream with roti and mango and sticky rice. You can't go wrong with dessert so that was fine. It's too bad because I really wanted to like this place, especially after seeing all the good reviews. The service was really good though despite being busy, it was really friendly and warm so the service is at least four stars. It wasn't five star service because she did forget our drinks and I had to ask for it in the middle of our meal.

Everything was great. We went out for our anniversary and the food and service was excellent. From appetizers to dessert. Parking is good they have their own lot, and prices are high but not for the amount of food and flavors that come with it. We definitely will come back here again.

I absolutely love this place! Bua Thai Kitchen is my favorite Thai restaurant right now, and I don't mind driving out of my way to get there. I refuse to eat at any other Thai restaurants in my area because I'm obsessed with this one. Although I've never dined in, today I decided to order online for pickup to try some new dishes. Their menu is so extensive that I'm convinced everything on it is amazing. The only downside was the spicy basil tofu; the portion was surprisingly small, as if someone had already eaten half of it--almost like I paid for a kid's size. Fortunately, the portions for my other entrees were a bit small but not as much. However, I found that the medium spice level was more like no spice at all, as I couldn't taste any heat in my dish.

Newly established Thai restaurant and the food is authentic and delicious. Service is amazing. We had two babies and the staffs were very welcoming. Reasonably priced and I loved the fact the bill didn't come with the section asking for 25% tip. It was 15% 18% 20% and custom amount. The restaurant was super clean including the floor. LOVE their padthai and pad seew, and green curry is almost perfect too. Honestly one of the best i had in a while after my new york trip. It's very conveniently located and has great space. Service always has been just okay. (Never had any terrible experience) Could be short staffed some time to time especially lunch time. The only downside about this establishment is that their phone number definitely has issues. There are two different numbers listed on Google and Yelp, but every time i try calling, they don't pick up, and end up having to order via doordash or online which i dislike, because many places charge higher for digital ordering in order to cover the cost of service fees charged by the third party companies like UberEats or DoorDash. Also i want to help small businesses like these by direct ordering. Please fix. Everything else is good. Cute ambiance, good location, good outerior, just the ordering issue. read more

First impression walking in this restaurant is very "instagrammable". Beautiful backdrops perfect for Instagram pictures complete with an accent wall. The decor is beautiful and photograph's well. I believe this is a family owned business. Everyone that I've encountered from the front patrons, to who I believe are the owners, to the children, helping - have been extremely courteous, and friendly. Now... Let's get down to business: THE FOOD. I've been here twice already, and everything I've ordered teems with flavor, is fresh, and downright delicious! Food was absolutely amazing and the service was great, I will definitely be coming back again once I have the chance to! Great experience and left me stunned! I ordered the Today's Special which was the Crispy Chicken Fried Rice, and the chicken was amazing along with the rice. These chefs know what they're doing, I was only in Albany for a very quick trip, but this was definitely worth it! For anyone in the area, the food is AMAZING! I will definitely recommend this spot for anyone who likes Thai food. We also ordered the Mango with Sticky Rice, it was absolutely spectacular, the mangoes had the perfect ripeness, and the rice was formed into a heart. Extensive menu with some wonderful surprises on it. We finally settled on: - Mango Salad. If you love ripe mangoes, GET THIS. Extremely generous serving of sweet mangoes, perked up with a tangy dressing, raw onions, and chopped mint. - Corn & Cheese puffs. A sweet/savory pastry, shaped like empanadas. 3 to a serving. - Sai Aou. We love this spicy pork sausage and this was excellent. Fat juicy link, similar to Vientian Cafe's version but served sliced. We wrapped it in lettuce and mint - yummy! - Coconut Lemongrass soup, chose shrimp option. Broth a little light, but flavor was good and well-balanced. Grilled category: - Rib Eye, served with garlic/lime dip - came medium-rare as requested. Loved it; dip wasn't sweetened or watered down, as some places do. - Lamb. Three fat, beautifully trimmed chops off the rack, also med-rare. Served over sweet/sour veggies with the sweetened fish sauce; we left both and just ate chops. Got a side of steamed thin rice noodles to share. Finished with Thai Iced Tea w/Coconut Milk - a bit sweet so I diluted it with some addt'l tea - made it perfect for an ending. Coconut flavor was strong and complemented the spiced tea. Our server - Pazzy(?) - was very sweet and told us Bua Thai tries to make their dishes more authentic with less sugar. We told them to keep up the good work, and we will definitely be back to explore more of the menu! read more

First time trying this restaurant since it recently opened. Super clean and pleasant inside. Attentive service and fresh ingredients. Two of us shared the Coconut Lemongrass Soup (added chicken), Pad Thai (added shrimp - comes with 5 very large prawns) and Green Curry (added chicken) - all were perfectly seasoned and tasty. We then decided to have dessert after seeing a nearby table get their order of Fried Banana with Ice Cream - delicious. Will definitely be back. read more

The food is delicious, the ambiance and service are good. My only complaint is my dish (Spicy Basil) was so small it left me still hungry. Food is very delicious, fresh, and attractive. They have a very extensive menu, something for everyone. I would have given it a 5 star rating except that the portions, at least for the Spicy Basil dish, are simply too small. In nearly every other Thai restaurant, I am unable to finish my dish as I'm not a big eater. But not here. I left hungry for more. Ambiance and space are very comfortable, and the service is quick and attentive. read more

Had take out this evening and compelled to review immediately. Ordered the crispy rolls, beef panang curry and the flat noodles with vegetables. When I went to pick up, the dining room was full. The location does not have lots of foot traffic, so these people came here intentionally! Service was fast and friendly. She told me about dine in specials as she was ringing me up. Love this restaurant! Their parking lot is very small but their dishes are very delicious. We were both starving upon arrival but it wasn't long before our order came out. We had the seafood eggplant, pad ke mao with Jasmine rice， and green curry. Throughout our meal, I kept repeating how delicious the seafood eggplant was. On the menu, the seafood eggplant did not say it contained eggplant; but it did. I love how the rice was heart shaped. The food here is delicious and the staff are incredibly helpful and kind! We came in for dinner and there was a very large party of people across 3 giant tables having a great time. The staff kept apologizing for the noise and that the kitchen was a bit backed up and so the food might take a little longer to be served than usual (it arrived very timely though - didn't take too long). They were incredibly accommodating for a vegan diet -- pretty much everything we wanted could be made vegan. Will definitely return! read more

Mixed experience at Bua Thai Kitchen.** I placed a pick-up order through DoorDash, which involved a 30-mile drive. Upon arrival, I was greeted by an employee and directed to the counter where my order was ready. One bag had my name on it, while another was unlabeled. After being handed my ice cream and confirming that my drinks were included, I assumed the unlabeled bag was part of my order. When I reached for it, the employee abruptly snatched it from my hand, yelled 'NO!', and looked visibly upset, which left me feeling wrongfully accused of attempting to take something I didn't order. While I understand this may have been a misunderstanding, the situation could have been handled with more care and respect. Clearer labeling of orders and better communication would help prevent confusion like this. It was an unfortunate way to end what could have been a positive experience. As for the food, I must say it was quite tasty! The pumpkin curry with chicken, served with white rice, was a solid 7.5/10. The pineapple fried rice w/ chicken scored a 7/10 (while it was a bit bland, it paired well with the curry in my opinion), and the sticky rice mango with coconut ice cream and roti was an impressive 9.5/10. I came here with my family and my girlfriends family who came all the way from Italy and Hong Kong. First walking in we noticed a very clean, minimal and modern interior design. We were greeted with the head waiter name Ken and he was fantastic! Super friendly, great recommendations, and very attentive service. The menu was great and had a variety of modern and tradition Thai food along with western twists on their specials. We also met the cook who came from Thailand and made everything with an authentic touch. Service was top notch. And the beef noodle soup was very very good. Full of flavor and comforting. The menu is also full of not so standard options which I will definitely be back to try. Also the prices were very reasonable. I also made the very embarrassing faux pax of leaving my wallet at home but the owner without hesitation said don't worry I trust you to call me later with a credit card. I strongly do not recommend this restaurant for African Americans. The childlike server Penny behaves like a racist and Business manager Woody seemingly, has her back; or at the very least, had nothing to say critical of her deplorable behavior. I had a horrible experience which I detailed in a Yelp review, and it has mysteriously disappeared. Had been waiting to come to Bua Thai for a while and the food definitely lived up to the anticipation! Decor is simple, homey and elegant with flowers adorning the walls. Food was great and they have lots of great options on the menu. We had pad see ew and massaman curry. Both dishes were tasty but the curry was definitely the standout with incredibly tender meat. This is my new favorite Thai spot. The staffs are very friendly and attentive. The food are really amazing espcially Pad thai, it is not sweet but balancing flavor. My favorite dishes are Tom yum fried rice, crispy rice salad , fried dumpling, Tomyum soup noodle and mango sticky rice. They are always busy and it is worth waiting. One of my new place for Thai food. I ordered duck noodle soup because it's cold outside and I really need something warm and tasty. They have it on special menu so I ordered. It's perfect soup with good portions of duck and it's not too fat either. The service was attentive and the price is not too expensive. I will definitely try it out again. One of the best spots to eat real Thai food is Bua Thai Kitchen. This restaurant serves wonderful back rib noodles, fried tofu, coconut pad Thai, and shrimp tempura. The firm texture of fried tofu and the texture of Thai coconut pad Thai, with actual coconut meat and milk added, are two things I adore! The back ribs were juicy and simple to gnaw on. I love this Thai restaurant so much! They added new menu especially Duck noodles soup with Thai herbs and the best ingredients that they can fine. I do recommend it. The deep fried fish is also good, with fresh herbs and thin slices of lemongrass combined perfectly with the fish and sauce, I recommend eating it with the sticky rice. read more
