Yikes. At least another employee responded saying, "omg stop saying that at work!" (Which like, don't say that at all?? In the year 2026?? We know better, c'mon. I'm glad it didn't go completely unchallenged though.) They also were continuing loud conversations throughout my visit which doesn't bother me but also, seems they get a bit toooo comfortable sometimes. I implore the employees to please be mindful of time and place. ORIGINAL REVIEW (4 stars): I really really like this store and I frequently come just to browse. I think I can say I got the most value when my baby was a bit younger, like when I was pregnant and from newborn to, say, 6 months or so? Now that my baby is older, around 12 months, I don't find nearly as many things it seems. Or maybe I just don't need as much anymore. I find the service pretty friendly and responsive. They usually ask if I'm ready before I am (not in a bad way), and when I am ready, I never have to wait long for someone to check me out. I'm somewhat surprised that some say that employees are unfriendly. Idk if they're overtly "sunny" personalities, but they never give me problems or leave me in a bad mood either. But maybe that was a previous group of employees who have cycled through. I find their pricing hit or miss. You can't just trust it to be a good deal in my opinion. You *can* get a great deal, and they have special clearances that you can really get some good finds, but look it up. Don't just trust that it's a good deal automatically. For example, looking for pair of shoes for my baby, I was looking for some Stride Rites. On Amazon, they're like $40-60. I figured this was a great thing to look for at OUAC... I found a pair for $9. Well, upon closer examination, these were Munchkin by Stride Rite... Walmart. Looked it up, they were $12 brand new. I also am a bit disappointed in the condition/cleanliness of items like the strollers and high chairs. They just seem rooough to me for the prices they are charging. They also have to display the strollers outside which increases the dirtiness and they get pretty noticeably sun faded. This also is one of the stores where you can't *not* be in the way. I actually prefer the Redding store over the Chico one because of how much space there is and the layout. But they do use the space they have well; they just have much less of it (as I mentioned, they have to display the strollers outside because there is physically not enough room inside the store).

Every person I sent into this store to purchase something for my daughter's birthday was told the box was sold out. They are supposed to call if the box sells out - that never happened. The owner called and assured me the box sold out and was not misplaced. After opening her gifts, she did not receive a single item she chose for her box. This was disappointing to a 6-year-old who was really excited to do this birthday box thing. I'm back to buying birthday gifts for the many parties we attend for my kids' friends at Target or on Amazon. And every parent I speak to will hear about our experience.

This shop may be in an obscure place off of highway 32 but it is the worth the trip and definitely a superior comic book and the best one in the area by a mile. This shop is family owned and it definitely shows. Its very clear that everyone who works here is a lover of comics as well and they are very friendly and knowledgeable. They take an interest in their customers and recognize regulars and address them by name when they come in. All new releases are clearly displayed on a big wall, and the tend to not mark up their back issues that are only a few months old. This place also has an amazing selection of t shirts, statues, board games and all the usual stuff. Its decently sized without being way too huge and has a great sense of charm and wonder. Lacks the sertle corporate feeling of certain large comic shops.

I explained this to the friendly clerk, who then brought out the owner to speak with me. Unfortunately, he turned out to be the rudest, most disrespectful and dismissive person I've ever encountered at a store. He launched into an angry loud diatribe against me, apparently thinking i was trying to sell him comics, which was never my intent. Without ever trying to find out why I'd come in, he vented angrily, then turned his back on me and walked away. I've never felt more disrespected and misunderstood in any local business. Such a person really should find a different line of work.

I saw lots of beautiful, nicely priced furniture, costume jewelry cases, vintage clothing, soaps, chalk paint, and vintage household goods such as dishes and bakeware. We only spent an hour looking around but could easily have taken a couple of hours or more. Since anything I bought would have to be packed in a suitcase or carry on, I decided there wasn't anything I couldn't live without at that time.
