He settled on a car from Amain Hobbies online store. Item was priced well and shipped quickly. He was beyond excited when his new car arrived. After charging the battery he went to take it out, only to find that it made a noise that appeared to be a gear issue. Having 0 experience w this car, we contacted Amain hobbies cs. The process to return this item for a replacement was long but well worth the outcome. A few small issues here and there but not anything big. I have worked in CS for an online retailer..and the customer service I received from Amain Hobbies was HANDS DOWN the best I've ever received. The new facility is really nice. The retail area is smaller than expected, not many items out to look at. The staff wasn't friendly or helpful. The rc area for racing , drift, and rock crawlers is a good start, it'll be better when they fine tune it. It's far for me to go and visit often, but if I'm in the Chico area I'll stop by. So far decent place , looking forward to customer service and retail improvements. read more

When I went to your store every one was all droopy and looked moody. It was like in the old western movies that every one stopped what they were doing to mug me walking through the the door. No welcome no good morning. It was super awkward looking for what I wanted and when I finally found it I went to a desk and was told "Check out is over there". I was like okay do you have this part? I've spent well over 10k at amain hobbies. Drove over an hour to pick up a $99 airplaine. Took them 30min to get me out the door with the plane because they are SO SLOW. Get it home, prop flyes off on first flight and crashes softly in grass. Put prop on for 2nd flight, same thing... After some inspection I can tell the vibration coming from the front is far too much. It's been awhile since I flown a micro, so didn't really catch onto it when I spooled it up the first flight. Anyway, no big deal, it's a $99 plane that is put together in CHINA. I'm sure this stuff happens... Well, after a phone call to amain that got me no where because we arent' the "retail store". Great service. Then I drive up today and explain I'm experienced etc, and that the motor has play and may be faulty. After waiting for 30 min for the boss (great empowerment of employee's a main) for a $99 plane that HORIZON hobby will very much so refund them, they decide to play hard ball and explain "we won't have another for a couple days" and my boss wants to fix it with off brand parts. Fix a micro? That probably won't FLY so well lol. Anyway, very disappointed. Been years since I have been in there, but I see how they pay for the big shiny building. This place was great. Only bad thing is its over 2 hours from me, but it was worth a Sunday drive. I went there looking to get the Arrma Notorious and did. But spent awhile there because theres just so much stuff!! Staff was helpful even with my stupid questions/ requests. There is A LOT of cars and inventory in stock and on display. I dont think Ive ever been in a store with that many cars, trucks, etc. on display to see out of the box. Ill add a bunch of pics as well so you can see what I mean. If you live near there you are lucky. Where I live we have NO shops at all. Its sad. read more

Drove all the way from Yuba city... unfortunately they're not allowing customers inside the store, but I was welcomed by a gentleman named Jared. He came out side, greeted me and asked me for what I was looking for. I replied that I was very interested in the Losi RockRey. He laughed and said let me show you something. He went to his car and grabbed his rock Rey. Threw it on the ground and gave me a demonstration... needless to say, 20 minutes later, I was leaving with a brand new Losi, with all of my questions answered and satisfied. I'm all about good customer service. And I got top notch customer service from Jared! I'll be back again because of it. read more

This review is highlighting the extremely poor customer service experienced by myself and a friend over the weekend. We both walked in on Saturday morning with a plan to buy an Axial Capra each (along with upgrades etc). After at least 20 minutes we still hadn't been approached by any of the four or five employees who were either checking inventory or walking around, (and right next to us on many occasions). We were eventually approached by someone and asked if we needed help. That 3 minute exchange yielded nothing. The guy couldn't be bothered at all. After we realized they didn't have the Capra in stock (there were no subsequent offers to have the car sent to sent to our respective homes, or consider an alternative). In addition, and the part that really annoyed us, was the response we got afterI asking "what upgrades and spare parts do you have in stock for the Capra"? The reply? "No, not really". (Which is blatantly untrue). OK then, I guess we'll take our business elsewhere. Poor effort AMain Hobbies; perhaps provide some basic customer service training, or hire someone else. read more

This review is for the A Main Performance Hobbies retail location across from Costco in Chico, on Martin Luther King, Jr. Pkway. The staff in here is FANTASTIC! Kristen, Crystal, Kenny, Jerry, and Corey are fantastic. In fact, often I'll just walk over during my break to see what's up and chat about RC flying. The staff are all very patient with my endless questions and small purchases (I do make the occasional large purchase). The store itself is great. BUYER BE WARE. I could not be more disappointed with a business than I was my last visit to AMain. I have 12 Redcat Rockcrawlers from AMain. Last week, I took 3 of the cars in to be serviced and get running right. I ordered another 2 of the same rockcrawlers. They got me two of the "same" but told me I had to pay extra to have 4 wheel steering added to make them like my other cars. I specifically asked if the remotes were the same and I was told they were. I picked the cars up today and was told the two new ones are "way better" for a list of reasons. Everything is different. I told them the cars were supposed to be the same and that I wouldn't have bought them if they were different. They just shrugged and said oh well. I went to try the cars out on the track and ever employee (4 or 5 guys at least) all hid in the back and didn't talk to me again.They didn't even help me load up my 5 cars. After getting them home I am finding problems with the 3 cars they "repaired" too! I have spent thousands and thousands of dollars at AMain. I don't know what to say. I can't say enough about the outstanding customer service at A Main Hobbies. The staff always greets you with a smile and go over and above to make sure you leave with everything you need and you're happy. I've shopped at a lot of hobby stores around my area and nine times out of 10 I leave saying WTF how are these guys still in business. I traveled an hour and a half to go to A Main Hobbies and get some parts for an upcoming race they did not have the parts I need it in stock so Jerry one of the employees went to the warehouse on his lunch break to get my part and make sure I was happy. These guys are fantastic! My husband has two RC cars we purchased from there and they are so helpful with tips, parts, repairs and advice. We went there to purchase an RC Car for our nephew's 4th birthday. Instead of trying to sell us something way too advanced, the sales associate explained to us they really don't carry anything for such a young age and suggested we try a toy store instead. What an honest guy! We appreciated the fact that he didn't try to sell us something that wouldn't work. We ended up going to a toy store, but they gained a customer for life, and we will absolutely be back. A+ service and selection, plus they are local and do so much for the community! Absolutely done with this atrocious company. Customer service passes the buck, lies, and they do nothing to redeem themselves- I live 150 miles away, I could walk to the store faster then they can manage to put an Instock item in a box. I ordered last saturday(6 days ago) and they swore up and down it shipped Monday and will be on time and usps has a tracking glitch- my wife is a postmaster here in our town so I checked. It took them 5 days to put a motor in a box to be shipped, so I messaged them that usps never got the item until Thursday and I want my money back- continued to say the tracking is glitched and and thatll I'll have it on time- on time was yesterday- when they put it in a box- your company sucks, your employees lie- I'm done I'll never recommend your company to any one or use it. This review is for the retail store across from Costco. I received great customer support from the staff at a main. I had an issue with parts not fitting. Employees Jacob and Chris took the time to make me feel confident in my purchase and made right on issues I had with another helicopter of mine. I am surprised at all the customers complaining of poor service on the warehouse side. These guys were so patient with a (what seemed to me) overwhelming situation. They took it in stride and made sure my wife and I were happy. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to both beginners and experts alike. It is clean, well lit, and a bunch of parts that the staff are more than willing to help you find. Check your attitude at the door and you'll find that we are so lucky to have a place like this in butte county. Great Job! read more

I had brought in a helicopter to be fixed actually I had a few and they told me that the "helicopter guy" was the best and knew what he was doing. What happened was all I needed was my remote to be reconfigured to the helicopter itself. During this time of him fixing it they never called me to update me on what was happening. I called them to see how things were going and they had told me my helicopter "blew up" clearly he didn't know what he was doing. He basically programmed my remote backwards on the throttle witch caused helicopter to freak out and caused it to "blow up". And they still made me pay 50$ after they had ruined it by not knowing what they were doing like they claimed. Do not take helicopters here and they are not friendly customer service they should have called me to let me know what happened..they did not I had to call. Will never take a helicopter here or buy anything from this store. read more

I went into this store hoping to buy some items on my son's birthday list. I was shocked at how rude and unfriendly the staff was. I had a young teenager with me who went to look at a display. The display did not say do not touch so the young man went to turn it on. Two men yelled at him. So unprofessional. Two things. If you don't want a display touched then post that. Second. Two employees yelling at him was not called for. He is always a well behaved young man and was shocked by the staff behavior. I will never shop here again. read more
