So, I've had Bruster's Ice Cream twice now and I am most definitely a fan. Their ice cream is rich and thick, which is a definite indicator of some delicious ice cream. My first experience with Bruster's was their Butter Pecan Ice Cream, which was everything my tastebuds never knew they were missing. I also had the Mint Chocolate Chip, which literally left me always wanting more, so much so that I ate the whole pint. Then, with my second trying of Bruster's, I absolutely fell in love with the Caramel Apple Crisp (I also ate this in one sitting). I haven't had the pleasure to visit the store as of yet since my friend usually picks it up for me, but I can't wait to go. My mouth waters thinking about my first official visit. read more

Wow! I had never tried Bruster's Ice Cream but after today I can safely say I will be coming back after trying out their Seasonal Ice Cream. Bruster's Ice Cream featured a walk up counter where you just go up and order the ice cream you want and then pick up in a window right next to it. It's very convenient and fast and I'm sure since it's next to Jamming Java, it's a place that would get packed quick. I got the Strawberry Matcha Ice Cream with a waffle cone. The ice cream comes in big scoops much more generous than most places in the area and honestly this is such a great value. There's also a patented ice cream holder so the ice cream doesn't drip down to your hand as it holds the cone in place! How genius! This is such a great place for a sweet treat. To celebrate the first 80-degree day of the year, my family decided to go out for a post-dinner ice cream treat. We were not the only people in the neighborhood with this idea because when we arrived, the line was wrapped around the shopping center. Teens on a date night, families with little kiddos, dog parents, and even the entire Vienna Fire Department showed up! Bruster's is strictly counter-service, so be prepared for some curbside eating if one of their tables is taken. The shop serves over 24 flavors of ice cream that is made in-house every single day. For those with dairy allergies, they even have oatmilk ice cream! I got black cherry chocolate chip which is my go-to flavor and loved the thick, chunky slabs of chocolate in every single bite. The rest of my family opted for the double chocolate brownie, confetti surprise cake, and chocolate chip cookie dough. We all enjoyed our frozen treats but noted that everything was made in a more traditional, American-style ... aka, extra sweet. Service was friendly and they did not blink an eye when I asked about getting a fresh scoop to help with allergy cross contamination. Two extra things to note: - If you are under 40" you get a free scoop of ice cream (sadly I only learned about this after the fact!) - They have ice cream cone holders to help maintain your integrity when feasting on ice cream. Ordered a Bruster's shake, specifically asked for cookies n cream. The young woman who brought it to the window looked annoyed when I asked what it was - "cookie dough". I told her I asked for cookies n cream, she looked incredulous, snatched it from my and said as she walked away "I'll gave to remake it for you then", as if I should just be ok with it and leave. 3-4 min later, she brown back the correct one and pushed it toward me without a word and turned to walk away. It's taken me years to actually try this ice cream. I heard they had a flavor called coffee ripple , which reminded me of the coffee fudge ice cream in Boston. It was quite delicious. I sampled multiple flavors including black raspberry, and the seasonal apple caramel. All were delish. I do wish they had regular sugar cones. It's hard to lick the waffle cone's ragged edges. Overall an OK ice cream experience in Vienna, VA. I grew up eating Bruster's ice cream, mostly on the shores when I take trips to Virginia Beach. This parlor is in a pretty decent location and occupies a corner in a mini shopping center. The customer service was good and so is the ice cream. There is nothing fancy about the ice cream, however, it is a good choice when you want traditional hand-dipped ice cream at a reasonable price. Give them a try. read more

I love brusters so much because of the wild amount of choices to pick from and how they are always changing so you can get something new. I definitely recommend graham central station in a waffle cone because their cones are really good. The ice cream is expensive but the portions are huge and the ice cream is a really good quality. This is a new spot for ice cream in Vienna! They have a large selection of premium flavors as well as fat free and non-dairy options. We went during their grand opening weekend and they were offering $3 small waffle cones. The small waffle cone comes with 2 scoops. We got one with Cookies and Cream with Oreo and Strawberry Swirl and another with Coffee Chocolate Chip and Strawberry. The scoops were surprisingly big so it is worth the price. The Strawberry Swirl was too sweet for me, but the regular Strawberry was a perfect balance! There was a crowd outside, but the line moved very fast. The staff were friendly and efficient from start to finish. They only have outdoor seating that tends to get occupied quickly. I usually go there since they have really good ice cream until last night (4/4/2025 at around 9pm) I ordered a small chocolate ice cream with Reese's pieces that I started to have food poisoning from. I think I would be fine from the chocolate ice cream since I ate it before but I didn't realized that Reese's pieces were pretty old that made me threw up over 6 times. They need to throw out all the old candies ASAP! Right now, I'm skeptical about going back because I don't want to have another food poisoning. read more

Bruster's has some good ice cream. My favorite is the turtle sundae but today I just had cherry vanilla and chocolate scoops. In the spring and summer they can get really busy so sometimes the wait can be a little long for some. The staff is always friendly and professional and polite. What a great place to visit for some ice cream. We stopped by last night. There's no "inside" here in terms of ambiance. You order at the window and then they hand it to you. The ice cream is all really delicious. There were a few we weren't fans of like the Banana Pudding flavor and Pistachio flavor. First want to state we have been big Bruster's fans for many years and will continue to be fans. This past weekend after dining in Vienna, VA - we discovered the newest location on Maple Ave, in Vienna. There was a crowd of people waiting in line and awaiting their orders to be served - a good sign. My wife and I ordered a single scoop of ice cream - hers chocolate raspberry truffle and my favorite chocolate coconut with almonds. This is the same order we request almost every time from your locations in Broadlands, Chantilly, Ingamor, Pa, Annapolis, MD, Hollywood, MD, or several other locations. To our surprise the portion of the ice cream were very small compared to other locations. Secondly, my chocolate coconut with almonds - did not taste as usual - too much courser coconut and fewer almonds. Not sure how this could happen. Is the franchise owner of the Vienna location not tied in with the corporate folks or the local franchise owners? You guys better start being consistant with your product and serving size. read more

I've always hated this location, their business model, and their business structure. This is less of a brick and mortar business and more of an ice cream stand. As soon as I got home I threw up. It was definitely the slush I ordered. Now I have even more of a reason to hate this place. I did notice the order taker with short term memory loss immediately ask what flavor someone in my party wanted after just being told so. Excellent ice cream! However...they need a better system and more attentive employees. I ordered two cones. And was asked no less than six times what flavor I wanted. Right after I told her the flavor, she asked me "what flavor did you want again." I'd tell her. Then she typed in something and once again she said "what flavor did you want?" That went on several times. Felt like I was being pranked it was so comical. My husband received his cone at one window. Then they open another window, and simply hand my cone to someone else! No name or announcement of what flavor it was or any identifying cone remarks. Then they hold the wrong cone up screaming out the owners name and wondering why she won't pick up her come. (Because she had already left with my cone!!) Then we had a huge discussion between five employees and four customers about how they just handed my cone to someone else, and her cone was being held for several minutes by an employee trying to find its rightful owner during this whole discussion. Finally the rightful owner comes back up and says she got the wrong cone and would like her rightful cone. (Didn't like my flavor!) Then the girl who asked me six times what flavor I wanted, asked her three times if she wanted to take my cone in a cup with her! SHE DIDN'T LIKE MY CONE, SO NO, SHE DIDN'T WANT TO TAKE IT WITH HER, STOP ASKING HER THAT! Once we had established my cone had been given to someone else, I made sure to ask for a new one. I'm not totally sure, but I got the distinct impression they were just going to hand it back to me after she brought it to them after several minutes in her car, after eating it enough to know she did not like my flavor!! Yuck. Moral of the story is I hope they get their kinks out by summer. read more
