I was walking around the Mosaic District and saw a long line in front of this store. It was a cool summer night and everyone was craving gelato. It is located on the first floor of the Target building. The location is great for a treat after a long day of shopping. I saw a sign outside that they were offering a matcha mango drink and was immediately intrigued. I stood in line and went in to place my order. I ordered the medium drink. It came to about $7.50 for the drink. It came out in a normal cup with a bright mix of green and orange. I love matcha and mango so I had to go for it. The drink was very tasty. You had a brief taste of matcha and the sweetness of mango. They both mixed very well. I would have ordered another drink but I didn't want to drop another eight bucks. There isn't much space inside but I think there's a bench outside. The gelato here is super yummy and definitely a treat, though be prepared for long lines since it's a popular spot. We tried the lemon opal basil sorbet in a cup, which was so refreshing and unique with that citrusy-herbal twist. On the waffle cone, we went with pistachio Siciliano and stracciatella--both were rich, creamy, and full of flavor, with the pistachio standing out as especially nutty and smooth. The cone itself was crisp and fresh, which made it even better. It is on the first floor of Target building. They have good amount of selections and honestly everything was pretty good. My favorite was mascarpone & berries. If you like pistachio, you will love their pistachio gelato. We've gone here as a post-meal treat/dessert for years! What I like about Dolcezza is their consistency over the years. The service is always pretty quick, and they're happy to provide samples of their flavors. They also have plenty of coffee, and tea options. Their black sesame latte is really delicious if you're into that sesame flavor. Today I got the pistachio and gianduja gelato and it was truly the perfect combo. The pistachio specifically is my favorite but these two flavors worked amazingly together. I do wish they would bring in more season gelato flavors, because I typically see the same flavors. Cute gelato and coffee shop on the corner- I've always seen people go in and out but first time trying it on a Monday night. Parking on the street or in the garages nearby (all walking distance). Walking in, there's one big corner where to your left there's the gelato portion and to your right, the coffee section. Like any ice cream place, you can ask for free samples as their flavors are really unique.. What is a Avocado Honey Orange? Or a Roasted Strawberry? Interesting flavors to go by here. Luckily, I picked the one that appealed to me. Coffee & Cookies may sound odd but don't knock it until you try it! For the price you pay, you might as well get the 3 scoops but for this review I only got 2. It's a dollar upcharge for three scoops and I did regret not getting that. Portion size, it's small but I guess that's why the small spoon is there so you don't finish it right away. The Coffee & Cookies flavor is amazing. It's like what you expect. Regular coffee that's mixed with Cookies. The coffee taste is very light but sweet as gelato should be. Very delicious for sure. I've been to this location twice, and both times I had a great experience! Service is fast and great. Ambiance is very casual-- best to go to just pick up a scoop of ice cream, as there are not many seats available! I definitely recommend trying the clementine sorbet-- it was amazing! I am in shock. At the farmer's market, in Mosiac's, where we are almost weekly....... I have seen the "Mom & Pop" signs... but I didn't realize it was a coffee place. This shop is located along the main strip of the Mosaic shopping area in Fairfax and serves more so as takeout than a place to hang out in. Samples are encouraged! I have always loved the Mom & Pop coffee shop that sold Dolcezza Gelato in pints. I happened to stop by Dolcezza for National Ice Cream Day and they had an awesome deal of buying one getting one small ice cream cup for free! Dolcezza always has rotating flavors that are unique and interesting to try! I love that we can try samples before ordering and could have two different flavors for a small-size cup. We got Dulce De Chip/Coffee in one cup and Blueberry Lavender/Berries Mascarpone for the second cup. My favorite was the coffee and Dulce De Chip! I am not sure if it was for how busy the gelato shop was on this Saturday but the workers looked irritated and annoyed. I love this place!! I always go here when I'm in mosaic. There is plenty of parking in parking garages nearby. It is right by the target in mosaic center. This place gets extremely busy especially at night. Lines can get long but the employees do a good job at moving the line quickly. It is super cute inside but there are only like 4 seats along the window area. Their gelato is delicious! I love gelato and that's what I always order here. My sister enjoys their coffee and teas that they offer. They have plenty of gelato options to choose from. They even have multiple varieties of sorbet! What isn't good is the portion sizes. I know we trying to be healthy as a society, but you get a cup the size of an espresso cup and just way too small for what you pay. This store is accessible from the 1st floor of Target. They have some very unique flavors of gelato and sorbetto (see pics). They also serve different types of coffee. I got their small size - which you can select up to two flavors. I chose hazelnut and dark chocolate. Both are super rich and creamy. The nut flavors like hazelnut and pistachio actually have pieces of the nut in them. Because of how dense gelato is the small size is actually a good portion size. I just wished that they did a better job of scooping them. See pic of how some of it got the side. It would have just taken a sec to check if there was excess slathered on the side of the cup. It is on the pricey side. The small gelato is a little of $6. There are only a handful of seating inside but that not really a problem as this is located in Mosaic so you can find seating anywhere outside. Just park in Target's garage - it's free. read more
