We got the Lebanese Bride which is a handcrafted labneh topped w/za'atar, tomatoes, cucumbers, mint & olive oil ~ SOOOO GOOD! We also got a jar of spicy green Serrano relish which was amazing & had a nice little kick. The Mosaic Farmers Market is outdoors & operates by season. They are open on Sundays APR 4 - DEC 26 from 9AM TO 2PM & apparently also open from 10AM - 2PM, JAN - MAR. I would imagine vendors make their rounds to the different market locations but I didn't think to ask. I just know Z&Z Middle Eastern Flatbread's last day for the Mosaic market is November 7th so we have to go back for the next few weekends to get our fix before they close for winter.

I'd say probably about 80% of the vendors are staples and there's about 20% new or seasonal vendors. Some of my favorites include the pretzel stand, fruit and tomato stand ($20 per bucket!), the paleta hand trucks and the one or two bakeries. I love supporting local. Plus, all the vendors above are super friendly and I love interacting with them on a weekly basis. As for prepared food (besides the pretzels), I'll be honest, I think most are pretty overpriced and I don't think anything stands out. We've tried a few food trucks and stands but it's been kind of disappointing every time. I'm waiting to be pleasantly surprised. I think the empanada stand is probably the best prepared food I've tried but I get it only once in a while (the line can be super long). The vibes are great. I think URBN Market has organized a fantastic weekly market at Mosaic and I love the seasonal event weekends too. Definitely check it out if you're in the area!

Our first stop is the very busy Amish soft pretzel stand. My kids love the standard soft pretzel dipped in melted butter and topped with rock salt. My personal favorite are the stuffed soft pretzels like the pretzels stuffed with roast beef and cooper sharp cheddar. Nothing tastes better! There are also many other stands that offer fresh produce, meats, cheeses and baked goods. I particularly like Bieler's Donuts, the same place you'll find packed lines in Philadelphia right here. It's such a fun place and my kids love it. But most importantly, this is dad's spot!

Cash is recommended, though cards are accepted at most stations (except the pretzel and ice cream lines). There is an ATM on-site. Note: The market is only open Thursday-Saturday, so plan ahead!

Definitely ask for a sample and the staff is always so nice! Greenheart is also at the Mosaic District, Bethesda, and other DMV markets. Savagely Good Pies - The creamy Spinach and Cheese quiche and the Asparagus and Melted Leek quiche are hearty and delicious! Don't forget about dessert - the Apple Pie is divine! The pies are often sold out - so highly recommend pre-ordering. Los Sabrositos - The wood-fired Breakfast pizza with red peppers, onions, scrambled egg, bacon, and Mexican cheese is scrumptious and filling! While the crepes are tasty, they don't keep as well and the pizza is my pick! The fresh Mango, Pineapple, and Strawberry and Banana smoothies are refreshing and delicious! The majority of the flowers on display were the fall Chrysanthemum 9" mums. There were all kinds of assortments of those mums. I did notice some nice Montauk daisies that have still yet to bloom. I ended-up getting the Basil Everleaf Genovese plant and some awesome purple Petunias. There were a lot of leftover pumpkins and other fall stuff that were listed on sale as well. I wonder if this garden center sells Christmas trees, because I didn't notice too many things related to the Christmas holiday. This is a great garden and flower shop and it almost reminds me of my very first job at a flower shop when I was 12.

The woman who checked us out was an absolute delight, warm, funny, and exactly what you hope for at a local farm stand. Unfortunately my experience in the herb section was the opposite. When I asked about strawberry plants and was told they didn't have any, I mentioned I was a first time gardener and asked if she could recommend something beginner friendly. Her response was essentially "just pick something, all you have to do is water them." When I explained again that I was new and looking for guidance, she told me she couldn't help me. As a first time gardener trying to learn, that kind of dismissiveness was discouraging. If it weren't for the lovely woman at checkout, I likely wouldn't return. I ended up going to Ed's Plant World in Brandywine where the staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful to a beginner. The difference was night and day. That said, I'm giving 4 stars because the place is really awesome in terms of selection and variety. The woman in the herb section may have just been having a bad day. It's absolutely worth checking out.
