I just love this spot. I've been coming here over the years to get my fill of Pennsylvania Dutch…read moretreats, which allows me to get from DC without having to drive all the way to Pennsylvania. This spot has so many wonderful food stands. Upon walking in, you can pick up a cart to explore all of the stands. My kids love this place as much as me since you can find so much variety. Our first stop is the very busy Amish soft pretzel stand. My kids love the standard soft pretzel dipped in melted butter and topped with rock salt. My personal favorite are the stuffed soft pretzels like the pretzels stuffed with roast beef and cooper sharp cheddar. Nothing tastes better! There are also many other stands that offer fresh produce, meats, cheeses and baked goods. I particularly like Bieler's Donuts, the same place you'll find packed lines in Philadelphia right here. It's such a fun place and my kids love it. But most importantly, this is dad's spot!

In the most visually-exciting sequence of Director/Writer Jalmari Helander's 2025 film Sisu: Road…read moreto Revenge, three Soviet Ilyushin II-2 Shturmovik ground-attack planes attempt to bring down the KraZ-214 armored, military-transport truck driven by the hero who single-handedly turned the tide for the Finns in the earlier film and in the sequel, set in 1946. Using his wits, his ingenuity, and unparalleled levels of skill and perseverance, Aatami Korpi, who earns the moniker of "the man who cannot die," escapes not just bombs and machine gun fire but a plane deployed as a missile. And yet, the most moving moment of the film is not found in one of its many arresting action sequences but in a single line of dialogue, spoken by one of six Finnish men, who, along with one teenager and one boy, carrying hatchets, axes, and tools, interrupts the battle-finished Korpi's work on his new home to ask in Finnish, subtitled in English, "We thought you might need some help?" Speechless and shaking with relief and joy, Korpi watches the strangers get to work on his roof, walls, and foundation. That level of kindness, assistance, delight, joy, skill, and service can be seen in every vendor at the Dutch Country Market Thursdays through Saturdays at 9701 Fort Meade Rd in Laurel, MD. Whether it is homemade pretzels, pasta salads, chili, produce, meats, cheeses, popcorn, donuts, or varieties of dark chocolate, candy, or fudge you seek, you will find plenty to whet your appetite. Mind you, most, if not all, of everything contains zero preservatives. Our advice is to buy what you can enjoy soon or share your purchases with company before it's too late.

Wonderful farmer's market tucked away without the long lines! Hands-down one of my favorite…read morefarmer's market with a great selection of fresh, locally-sourced venders. There are a variety of produce, meats, and made to order fresh food. Per VA food safety law, no dogs allowed. It has become part of our Saturday morning routine coming to this cozy market! It's open from 8am to 1pm. Greenheart Juices - With a large variety of juices to choose from, the refreshing cold-pressed Summer Crush watermelon juice is my favorite! Definitely ask for a sample and the staff is always so nice! Greenheart is also at the Mosaic District, Bethesda, and other DMV markets. Savagely Good Pies - The creamy Spinach and Cheese quiche and the Asparagus and Melted Leek quiche are hearty and delicious! Don't forget about dessert - the Apple Pie is divine! The pies are often sold out - so highly recommend pre-ordering. Los Sabrositos - The wood-fired Breakfast pizza with red peppers, onions, scrambled egg, bacon, and Mexican cheese is scrumptious and filling! While the crepes are tasty, they don't keep as well and the pizza is my pick! The fresh Mango, Pineapple, and Strawberry and Banana smoothies are refreshing and delicious! Mama's Donut Bites - The soft bite-size cinnamon sugar donut holes are sooo goooood and easy to devour! The staff was really nice and gave us a dozen for the price of 6! The market isn't as bustling as the Mosaic District or Bethesda markets with hardly any lines and nice selection of venders. Excited to keep coming back!

Ventured here today looking for some fresh fruits and vegetables…read more Was happy with the selection for today. Picked up some yummy fruits and veggies. Was excited to see seeded watermelons and seeded grapes! We also grabbed some jelly's and apple butter. The Apple Butter took me back to Sunday mornings breakfast at Grandmas. The bakery side had a variety of yummy treats from doughnuts, pies, cookies and cakes. Definitely grabbed a few for later. The Apple Pie ice cream my hunnie ordered was delicious. Tasted just like Apple Pie. Looking forward to our next adventure here already.

The woman who checked us out was an absolute delight, warm, funny, and exactly what you hope for at a local farm stand. Unfortunately my experience in the herb section was the opposite. When I asked about strawberry plants and was told they didn't have any, I mentioned I was a first time gardener and asked if she could recommend something beginner friendly. Her response was essentially "just pick something, all you have to do is water them." When I explained again that I was new and looking for guidance, she told me she couldn't help me. As a first time gardener trying to learn, that kind of dismissiveness was discouraging. If it weren't for the lovely woman at checkout, I likely wouldn't return. I ended up going to Ed's Plant World in Brandywine where the staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful to a beginner. The difference was night and day. That said, I'm giving 4 stars because the place is really awesome in terms of selection and variety. The woman in the herb section may have just been having a bad day. It's absolutely worth checking out.
