YUM!! is all that I have to say. this is such good ice cream I just love everything that I get when I go. Yes, the line can be long but so worth it and they have Dairy Free options, Sorbets and so many amazing flavors. I love all the cone and cup choices and toppings. Well, I just may have had the same person as Kelsey had in the other bad review. So, I made an online order saw 2 ladies inside near fort windows gabbing. I go to the window that reads ONLINE ORDERS PICKUP HERE. I always order online and go to this same pickup window. This time the younger black haired lady notices me and I catch her eye . Cindy turns around and looks miserable and points me to the front window and waves for me to move . Then I'm at the left window and Cindy is still not happy and points to the right of that window . Once I got back home I searched for the nearest location to me and found this one. After waiting all week to try it, I arrived at the location 10 minutes early. Once the attendants noticed my parked car, they turned the OPEN sign on ! The manager on staff, Eric, was super helpful and friendly. Once I noticed that the flavor that I had in Conway wasn't on the menu, Eric was extremely patient with me and helped me to create something close to it. The flavor and quality of ice cream here is still wonderful . The service however . Something that needs serious addressing . Are these young adults working the ice cream clock all hours or are they teenagers , I really can't decipher . Attitude, customer service, and professionalism points to teenagers . Most companies could seriously benefit from Chick-fil-a's training in employee services. I'm tired of my money/card not being handed to me and slid on a counter when I have the respect to hand it to the employee, I'm appalled at an employee in training getting yelled at Bc she asked which cone to choose . I don't like my 6 year old son seeing anyone getting belittled by another , especially when it's an obvious race difference. I've had to ask a young man to hand me my credit card as I did him the courtesy of doing so , and I've had to tell a young lady I don't like the way she spoke to her trainee. Well I was so excited to see that Bruster's is open. During this quarantine I have been craving ice cream so badly. When I pulled up it was a gentleman at the window in front of me so I kept my distance but he was nice. I wasn't in line long before a young lady opened the side window and apologized "rudely" that the restaurant is closed and that they closed 15 minutes ago. I guess that she was EXTREMELY tired. Great ice cream. The few times I drive by this place, it was always crowded like it was THE place to go for ice cream. Once pulling up, I saw a poster for Butter Brickle. I had no idea was it would taste like but butter sounded delicious. Once reading the description online, I was sold. I got it in a cup and added a small cone to eat later. Perfect pick and hit the spot that night. My second visit I got the same thing but I'm a waffle cone at the best value for $4 and change. It was good but the toffee pieces tasted off at times like a burnt taste. I want to see what else is good. There's tons of flavors and seasonal ones too. This place is run by teenagers that are totally unsupervised. They could care less about the customers and are so uninformed, disingenuous and know nothing about work ethic. The owner is not much better. She is totally fine leaving these unsupervised teenagers to run their business. I brought my concern to the owner with how I was treated and she was not overly concerned. They illegally charged my credit card, without my consent. My husband and I have been here a few times but that was before I had this app. Every time we have come here it has never been busy. They have a lot to choose from on their menu. I ordered a brownie sundae. I made no changes to it. So it had brownie, vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, chocolate syrup and a cherry. My husband ordered the banana split. I really wanted to like this place. I've tried it a handful of times but tonight 5/29/2022 is my last. There are two main issues that force this decision. The first is poor/slow service. The teenagers working there just cannot communicate. I'm not sure the young girl at the window said one word to me. The second issue, and this is the main reason why I can't come back is the premium scooped ice cream is way too soft. It has the same texture as sour cream. It melts way too fast once you get it. Happy to have discovered Buster's, just off of Pineville-Matthews Highway on John Street. Great selections of ice creams and very generous portions. And the ice cream has that creamy, flavorful heaviness of premium ice creams. You can get just about any type of sundae, cone, dish, cups or bowls. Prices are very reasonable. Have kid sizes that are also great for seniors. A really old time place that is not commercialized...or at least it is not obvious. read more

UPDATE 9/12/2016: The manager of Bruster's contacted us about this matter. The server had made a mistake and was misinformed. The manager offered us to return for 2 free ice cream bowls with 2 different flavors. The chick who served us at the window told us that we were not allowed to get 2 scoops of ice cream of different flavors. I was shocked....as this is what we have requested and received this ENTIRE SUMMER. When I had explained to her that this is the first we have heard about this all summer ..... she proceeded to tell us that "well, I'm sorry,....but the other people must have been doing it wrong". WHATEVER! I mean c'mon.....what ice cream parlor denies it's customers the right to what ever flavors they want. None of them....this is just crazy and absurd. So basically, I'm giving Bruster's 2 stars because the ice cream is good......but the service this time killed it for me. This kind of treatment totally takes the joy out of getting ice cream. Yay! I'm a fan. I first heard of Bruster's when I would visit my sister in Williamsburg, VA, she would get birthday cakes from Bruster's. Then when I moved to CLT I found one in Matthews, so now anytime I am near Monroe & 51, my car automatically pulls in there. I don't know how it happens, but I find myself parked in the parking lot, I might as well get something. They have tons of choices, I couldn't decide today, I was torn between chocolate cake batter, chocolate mint chip, something with peanut butter. What more do I need to say? This place is amazing. There's some chairs with umbrellas over them and stuff, right around the serving area where you buy the actual ice cream. It's very nice looking, modern, and gives you that cool feeling of just being outside eating ice cream. My personal favorite? I always get the to-go pint, partially because I am on an extremely complicated mission to try every flavor on that menu and judge the top five. So far, I've gotten New York cheesecake, chocolate Oreo, and cake batter, so I've got a long way to go. I'm going to make it, I know I will. The New York cheesecake is definitely a must-have if you are remotely interested in something cheesecake-related or even if you haven't had cheesecake before. I'm fairly certain you won't be let down :-) They have a bunch of other items as well, including some blasts (equivalent of Dairy Queen Blizzards) and some ice cream cakes, as well as shakes and mix-ins such as M&Ms and Reese's cups. It's an overall nice place to sit with the kids and have some desserts. They have patio tables with umbrellas. We live nearby and have came to this establishment quite a few times in the last 6yrs. My husband and I finally stopped by when we saw that there wasn't a line. The ice cream were clean, fresh and light vs. the artificial stuff that leaves you feeling heavy, thursting for water and some that left an oily film aftertaste. Not overly sweet, either. It came in a bowl with a scoop each of vanilla, strawberry and chocolate ice cream topped with sliced bananas, mascerated strawberries, crushed pineapple, fudge, whipped cream and a cherry on top. I've been a loyal customer for the past ten years. There are 5 of us in our family and we always get our birthday and celebration ice cream cakes at Bruster's. Today I went in and asked them to write a message on one of their cakes. The employee asked for help from an older woman with short hair (possible the manager) , she came over and said he was fine. He asked for help again, she refused. He apologized profusely. He tried his best, but it wasn't anywhere near what was expected. I told him it wasn't his fault he asked for help.
